Chapter 11: Pursuit and Encounter with That Man

When the slippery mermaid tail caused Liang Xiaoluo to stumble in the pool, she instinctively grabbed onto Ye Tianlin's arm for balance. However, remembering her earlier threat to accuse him of harassment, she quickly let go, despite still struggling to stand steady.

Liang Xiaoluo wobbled and floundered in the water, her unsteady movements eliciting concern from anyone watching. Yet, with sheer determination, she inched her way toward the pool's edge, hoping to climb out.

Behind her, Ye Tianlin's mocking voice sounded. "Accuse me of harassment?" His laughter was cold and scornful. The chilling tone froze Liang Xiaoluo in place, sending a shiver down her spine. She hesitated briefly, then forced herself to focus on escaping. Leaving was the only priority.

Just as she reached out to grab the edge of the pool, a sudden splash of water erupted behind her. Before she could react, she was yanked back into Ye Tianlin's arms—this time, his grip carried a hint of menace.

Liang Xiaoluo pushed against his chest, panic written all over her face. "What… what are you doing?" she stammered, her voice trembling with fear.

Ye Tianlin's hand shot out, seizing her wrists. The playful light in his eyes vanished, replaced by a dark, sinister glare.

Liang Xiaoluo's body stiffened as their gazes locked. His frigid, bone-chilling aura seeped through her, making her shudder. His expression—cold, ruthless, and malevolent—was terrifyingly inhuman.

For a moment, she felt as though she were facing the devil himself.

Stories about Ye Tianlin, the so-called demon from the underworld, resurfaced in her mind. It was said that as long as he wasn't provoked, he could be dismissive and aloof. But if crossed, he was merciless, leaving nothing but death in his wake. At that moment, Liang Xiaoluo felt she'd stepped onto a minefield.

Desperate, she struggled to break free, her every movement betraying her fear.

But Ye Tianlin's domineering aura grew stronger. Cornered against the edge of the pool, with no room to escape, Liang Xiaoluo trembled. "Stay away from me! Don't come any closer! I'll… I'll accuse you of assault!" she threatened weakly.

Ye Tianlin scoffed, his voice laced with derision. "Woman, have you forgotten? I spent a billion to buy you."

With those words, he found the hidden release mechanism on her mermaid tail, as instructed by Nightwing, and pressed it.

The tail fell away with a soft click, exposing her legs. Liang Xiaoluo froze in shock, her cheeks burning red. She shook her head and stammered, "No, no… Please, let me go. I'll find a way to repay you, I swear!"

To her, a billion was an astronomical figure, but in this dire situation, she clung to the hope of a delay tactic.

Ye Tianlin chuckled darkly, his voice filled with unrelenting confidence. Stripping off his wet shirt to reveal his muscular torso, he closed the gap between them. "I don't need money. Why don't you repay me with your body instead?"

"What?!" Liang Xiaoluo's voice trembled with rage and humiliation. Her entire body shook as she glared at him, disbelief etched on her face.

For a moment, she tried to suppress her fury, taking a deep breath to calm herself. After all, this man had saved her from a far worse fate. But her mind kept replaying the events of that night, the night he'd stolen her first kiss—and much more.

"Get your filthy hands off me!" Liang Xiaoluo's voice turned icy as she spat the words at him. "If you don't, I'll report you!"

Her defiance only seemed to amuse Ye Tianlin. "Oh?" He leaned closer, his dark eyes never leaving hers. "Go ahead. Once we're done, I'll accompany you to the police station to file a report. How does that sound?"

Their eyes locked in a tense standoff—one calm and unyielding, the other widening in panic.

"You… you're shameless!" Liang Xiaoluo spat. Her fists pounded against his chest, but her strength was no match for his iron grip. She turned her face away, her cheeks flushing a deep crimson as his proximity overwhelmed her.

"You seem eager," Ye Tianlin teased, his breath hot against her ear.

Liang Xiaoluo was on the verge of tears. His closeness suffocated her, and his playful, predatory tone sent waves of despair crashing over her. Desperate, she pleaded, "I don't know why I was sold like an object. I don't even know who you are or why you bought me. Please… I beg you, let me go. I'll repay you in my next life!"

Tears welled in her eyes, her dignity shattered. She would do anything to escape this nightmare.

But Ye Tianlin remained unmoved. To him, women had always been objects of disgust, a revulsion rooted in his childhood trauma. Yet, inexplicably, Liang Xiaoluo was different. She had awakened a desire in him that defied logic, a need to prove—to himself, to her—that he wasn't incapable.

"Next life?" He arched an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips. "No need to wait. You can repay me now."

Liang Xiaoluo turned her face away, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Please… You're a good person. Let me go…"

Her fragile plea only deepened Ye Tianlin's resolve. With a sinister laugh, he leaned in closer, his lips grazing her skin.

"No! You bastard!" Liang Xiaoluo screamed, her voice raw with desperation. Summoning every ounce of strength, she lashed out with a kick, aiming to knock him off balance. But Ye Tianlin caught her leg effortlessly, his reflexes quick as lightning.

Her rage boiled over. Her hands flew toward his face, her fingers aiming for his eyes.

Ye Tianlin's expression turned icy. Catching her wrist mid-strike, he growled, "Don't test my patience, woman."

But Liang Xiaoluo was beyond reason. She fought him tooth and nail, her adrenaline surging as she lashed out again and again. Finally, with one well-placed slap, her palm connected with his cheek, the sound echoing like a thunderclap in the bathroom.

Time seemed to freeze.

The fiery red imprint of her hand marred Ye Tianlin's otherwise flawless face. For a moment, she stared, shocked at her own audacity.

"I warned you…" she muttered, her voice trembling. "You brought this on yourself!"

Ye Tianlin's head slowly turned back to face her, his lips curling into a dangerous smile. The air grew heavy, the temperature in the room plummeting. His eyes, dark and menacing, locked onto hers.

"Do you know what happens to people who cross me?" he asked, his voice a deadly whisper.

Before she could respond, his hand shot out, wrapping tightly around her throat. The pressure cut off her air supply as she clawed at his grip, her eyes wide with fear.

"Women… all of you… deserve to die…" His voice broke, trembling with suppressed emotion. His grip tightened as he muttered, "Karin… you should have died…"

The name he uttered struck a chord of realization in Liang Xiaoluo. He's mistaken me for someone else…

Gathering the last of her strength, she choked out, "I'm… not… Karin… My… name… is… Liang Xiaoluo…"

Her voice, faint and gasping, somehow broke through his fog of rage.

Ye Tianlin's grip loosened, his eyes clouding with confusion. Her words reached him, pulling him back from the edge of madness.

Taking advantage of his hesitation, Liang Xiaoluo wriggled free. But before she could flee, his arms encircled her once more, trapping her beneath him.
