When news reached the Hokage's office that Tsunade had officially signed on as the Uchiha clan's chief medical consultant, the entire room fell into a stunned silence.

But what really made Hiruzen Sarutobi's eye twitch was hearing the rest of it: the Uchiha would repay all of Tsunade's debts and offer her a thirty-thousand-ryō monthly salary.

The old Hokage's lips quivered.

"When... did the Uchiha become so obscenely rich?" he muttered. "And Fugaku... Even if you've got money to burn, could you not use it to help the village for once instead of making me look bad?"

Jiraiya, standing beside the window with a bruised cheek, let out a tired sigh. "Old man, I'd advise you not to go after Tsunade right now. Her feelings toward the village are still complicated. The more pressure you apply, the more irritated she'll get. Letting her cool off with the Uchiha might actually help her come to terms with things."

Hiruzen turned away, shadows clouding his eyes. "Has her resentment really grown so deep...?"

He couldn't help but reflect on the past. Three disciples. Three failures.

Orochimaru had defected. Jiraiya constantly disagreed with him. And now Tsunade had returned to the village, only to align herself with the Uchiha and avoid even seeing him.

When had it all begun to crumble?

Elsewhere, Andrew was just leaving the police department building when a voice stopped him.

"Captain Andrew! You're not easy to find these days."

Andrew turned to see Sarutobi Asuma, arms folded, cigarette in his mouth, standing with an overconfident posture.

Damn. This guy again?

Andrew suppressed the urge to groan. He hated being short—Asuma always made a point to look down at him, literally and figuratively.

"Asuma? Weren't you supposed to be serving in the Twelve Guardian Ninja under the Fire Daimyō? What happened—did you get kicked out?"

Asuma's eyes twitched. He didn't reply immediately, but his clenched jaw and sharp glare said plenty. He blamed Andrew—and by extension, the Uchiha—for being replaced. After the daimyo witnessed the strength of the Uchiha guards, he no longer trusted anyone else.

"Hmph. As Hokage's son, I take responsibility for the village. But you—as the police captain—you're constantly absent from your duties. That's dereliction, and it puts Konoha at risk."

Andrew blinked, then smirked.

"Wait a second... Are you serious? Or just mentally unwell?"

The look in Andrew's eyes shifted. He finally got it.

Asuma's sudden hostility, his irrational anger—it wasn't about the daimyo, or the Twelve Guardians.

It was about Kurenai Yuhi.

Andrew chuckled coldly. He remembered the future—the one where Kurenai was left to raise a child alone. He'd seen what kind of partner Asuma had been.

There was no way he was letting this guy near her.

"If you think I'm slacking off, feel free to submit a complaint—either to the elders or to your father. But until then, you've got no rank, no title, and no authority here. You coming in here, flapping your mouth, is disruption of police business."

He paused, then raised his voice.

"Guards—throw him in a cell. Let him reflect for a couple of days."

The surrounding Uchiha officers hesitated only for a moment—then immediately moved to follow the order.

"You dare?! I'm the Hokage's son—!"

"Yeah, and Hiruzen must be regretting it. Resist, and they'll make you regret it too. Just beat him up a little if he gets fussy."

Andrew waved lazily.

"Your father might still be Hokage, but around here—you're just a punk picking a fight."

Asuma gritted his teeth. "You think you can intimidate me with numbers? Fight me one-on-one if you've got the guts!"

Andrew arched a brow. "Really? You want to fight me?"

A stir passed through the onlookers. Several officers muttered to each other in disbelief.

"Is he out of his mind?"

"He challenged Andrew? One-on-one?"

"Does Asuma have a death wish...?"

"Who gave him the courage—his dad?"

Nearby, Kurenai Yuhi exited the mission room just in time to witness the exchange. Her mouth dropped open.

"Wait... Asuma's trying to fight Andrew?"

She stared at him as if seeing a patient in the psych ward.

Andrew smirked. "Alright. Since you're so brave, I'll indulge you. Let's go outside—I wouldn't want to accidentally destroy the department building. And don't worry—I won't even use my Mangekyō."

Outside, the police department staff quickly moved into action. They cleared the training yard and set up a barrier seal to contain the duel. A Water Style squad was summoned and stood by in case of emergency.

The moment the match began, Asuma flew into action.

"Fire Style: Ash Pile Burning!" he shouted, unleashing a swirling fireball toward Andrew.

But Andrew's eyes glowed crimson. With a single glance, he mirrored the hand signs.

"Fire Style: Ash Pile Burning!"

His version was larger. Faster. Deadlier.

The sky darkened for a brief moment as Andrew's fireball eclipsed Asuma's. The shockwave from the flames blasted through the barrier and threatened to engulf the field.

"Uchiha fire style? Retreat! Retreat!" someone shouted.

"Get the Water Team in now!"

Asuma's eyes widened as he watched his own jutsu get outclassed like a child's sparkler. Compared to Andrew's blazing inferno, his flame looked like a campfire being extinguished by a sneeze.

He froze, dumbfounded.

"You're a Jōnin, and you're going to just stand there?! Move!" Andrew shouted, annoyed.

Seeing Asuma still not reacting, Andrew sighed. He darted forward and slapped him to the side—just hard enough to knock him clear of the oncoming fire.

"Can't let you die. Unfortunately, your father's still in charge, and he'd throw a fit."

The fire surged forward, crashed into the outer barrier, and shattered it. But before it could burn into the nearby buildings, the Water Style team unleashed a coordinated wave and extinguished the flames.

Smoke curled into the air.

Silence.

Then the murmurs began.

"He didn't even use Mangekyō... and still completely overwhelmed Asuma."

"Is this what it means to be Uchiha's police captain?"

Andrew dusted off his gloves and glanced toward Kurenai, who looked like she had just finished watching a tragic play.

He rolled his eyes.

"Seriously, Kurenai. What do you even see in this guy?"

Turning back to his officers, Andrew gave the final order.

"Drag him to the hospital, get his burns treated... then throw him back in the cell. Let him reflect on his life choices."

Gasps and chuckles broke out among the crowd.

"Is this really necessary?" one officer muttered.

"He picked a fight. Uchiha just finished it."

And off in the corner, Kurenai sighed and muttered to herself.

"Is Asuma... mentally ill?"
