Chapter 1150 - 1150: Section 1151 Feeding

Chapter 1150: Section 1151 Feeding

Angel crouched and leapt to the side, narrowly dodging its vicious bite.

The demon failed to hit its target and did not give up; instead, it turned its head and continued to gaze at Angel with eyes full of hunger and thirst.

Drip, drop—

Foul-smelling saliva dripped from its wide-opened mouth.

Angel could clearly see that when the saliva fell to the ground, it sizzled, and white vapor rose from the surface.

Highly corrosive? The thought had just flashed through Angel’s mind when the gaunt demon stretched its mouth—which nearly took up two-thirds of its face—and charged at him again.

Angel kept tapping the ground to evade, deftly dodging the demon’s next few lunges.

In the process of continuous dodging and through close observation, Angel discovered some information about the demon. It was not to be underestimated, but it had suffered severe injuries that reduced its strength significantly, and it seemed to have some problems with its sanity.

Because of this, the demon did not use its intimidating aura from start to finish, and its footsteps were very unstable. Given the situation and Angel’s speed, he could temporarily deal with it through evasion.

However, this was not a long-term solution.

Dust was kicked up, and pebbles scattered. While dodging, Angel had also tried to counterattack, but all his offensive moves had done no damage to the demon.

In the process of chasing and evading, Angel noticed that the demon seemed to regard him as food, with that clear craving of hunger and desire flashing in its eyes.

If he slowed down even a step, Angel believed his next fate would be as a meal in the belly of the demon.

While dodging, Angel was also thinking of a countermeasure.

Now, he found himself in an almost sealed underground hall, with no way out and unable to fight the demon head-on. In such a situation, it was like being trapped in a jar, and as his physical and Magic Power wore out, he would inevitably be caught by the demon.

What to do?

As his thoughts raced, the demon chased him again, and he prepared to accelerate and circumvent it as before. In fact, he succeeded.

However, just as Angel had bypassed the demon, he suddenly felt dizzy, completely unable to move.

His heart skipped a beat, giving him a huge fright. Meanwhile, the demon also snapped out of it, turning its head and lunging at Angel.

It was also fortunate that, while dodging, Angel had been subconsciously chanting the Secret Soul Mantra in his heart in case of emergency. When he discovered he couldn’t move, his spirit immediately left his body, dragging his physical form to the other end of the hall.

It was then that Angel realized that the half of the hall he had been evading the demon in was almost entirely filled with white vapor.

These mists were all produced by the saliva dripping from the demon’s mouth to the ground!

“So, that dizziness was caused by these white vapors?” Angel stunned, he rapidly used the Path of Soul Threads to cast a level 1 Trick on his physical body: Detect Disease.

The result showed he was poisoned!

“This demon’s saliva has corrosion and also poison?!”

Although he could use a level 1 Trick ‘Expel Toxins’ to rid himself of the toxins that caused mental confusion and physical paralysis, this was a significant burden on his already nearly depleted Magical Core.

Moreover, the demon kept dripping saliva, and as long as it continued to chase him, the entire hall would soon be filled with poisonous gas.

By then, even if he had the strength to run, he would not be able to escape.

“What to do?” repeated Angel to himself, still unable to find a way out.

His gaze slowly moved to the cruel scholar statue in the middle, wondering: Is this your punishment?

By inscribing him to prevent his escape, then waking this starving demon, ensuring he becomes a meal for it in the end?

If this truly was the cruel scholar’s calculation, then his hope of survival was almost nil.

How could he plead for life if a great Demon God wanted him dead?

As Angel was lost in confusion and despair, the demon came at him again with its awkward, floating steps, dripping saliva and raising more white vapor along the way.

“So hungry… so hungry…” the demon leaped towards him.

Listening to the unconscious cries of the demon in Demon Language, Angel had an idea; while dodging, he took out a lump of Magic Marrow Meat from his bracelet and threw it into the mouth of the demon.

Once the Magic Marrow Meat settled in the demon’s stomach, it paused for a moment, no longer pursuing Angel but sitting there and chewing contentedly.

And while the demon was eating, it did not drip saliva.

It wasn’t until it had finished the Magic Marrow Meat that saliva began to drip again, and the demon resumed its chase after Angel.

Noticing this, Angel understood that the demon in front of him was simply hungry, so hungry that it would shove anything into its mouth.

Looking at the demon’s body with layers of loose skin, Angel thought to himself: Could it be that this creature, like Brufen, was actually very fat and only became skinny after starving to the point of delirium?

Angel couldn’t help but feel he had figured out the truth.

To prevent more white fog from forming, Angel temporarily took on the role of the feeder. While he was feeding, the demon sat motionless, simply waiting for more food to be stuffed into its mouth.

However, eating like this is not a solution.

Even though Magic Marrow Meat can continuously grow, its growth also requires Magic Power. Although the Magic Power consumed is relatively small, if only expenditure with no recovery occurs, the Magical Core will eventually dry up.

I must find a way to deal with this creature.

Looking at the demon enjoying its meal, a thought suddenly sprang into Angel’s mind, “Why not… try poisoning?”

This was a spacious room filled with strange blood patterns. At the center of the room, a heart was suspended in mid-air.

The heart continued to beat, and with each thud, the blood patterns on the walls faintly glowed.

Yadasai gazed at this heart, his eyes gleaming with greed beneath his bone helmet.

This was the heart of a lord-level Magical Creature.

It was something Barfiment had once obtained by chance. His original plan was to homogenize the heart through the blood patterns drawn on the walls, and once its frequency matched his own, he intended to transplant the heart into his body.

However, Barfiment is now dead.

The heart naturally became ownerless. The reason Yadasai had hurriedly left the underground hall was to get to it first.

Yadasai had spent quite some effort to break through the barrier outside. Now, the moment to harvest the fruit had finally arrived.

Yadasai reached out, slowly extending his hand towards the heart.

Just as Yadasai grasped the heart, before he could even feel the strong surge of power, a faint roar suddenly reached his ears.

He looked towards the source of the sound with confusion.

The sound came from the underground hall. When Yadasai looked that way, he was stunned to find the hall enveloped by a layer of light patterns, hiding everything from view.

He recognized this light pattern—it was an Inscription!

All the Inscription hubs had already been destroyed, so why did an Inscription appear? And that roar earlier, Yadasai was familiar with it… it was unmistakably Jupiter’s!

Yadasai had previously found Jupiter unconscious in the underground hall, his energy nearly all drained by that uninvited guest.

Subsequent events had caused Yadasai to stop paying attention to Jupiter, who was in a deep coma.

Could it be that Jupiter had now woken up?

It didn’t matter if he had awoken, as his strength had already plummeted to the rank of a greater demon, which wouldn’t have much impact. But why did the light patterns underground reappear just now?

Doubts rose in Yadasai’s heart. Initially, he had planned to continue up the Void Tower to seek Milo Taurus’s room for hidden objects. Now, because of the sudden change in the underground hall, he no longer had the desire to do so.

After storing the heart, Yadasai quickly ran downstairs.

Yadasai was not the only one who sensed the anomaly underground. When he arrived on the first floor, he happened to see Popota, bulky and as grotesque as an alien, walking through the corridor.

Yadasai looked at Popota with the same malice as before, but he did not act.

At that moment, Popota’s eyes contained two complex emotions: extreme coldness and extreme madness. Though contradictory, they were perfectly merged within him.

He also saw Yadasai, but he just sneered at him and passed by, heading towards the underground hall first.

Yadasai hesitated for a moment before following.

As he descended the stairs, he saw Popota standing quietly at the entrance to the underground hall, looking inside through the door’s gap.

Yadasai noticed that Popota’s gaze became even more unfathomably weird, adding to his previous extreme emotions.

Could something strange have happened inside? And why was Popota standing at the entrance without going in?

It wasn’t until Yadasai came downstairs that he discovered, to his astonishment, that the door was wrapped in a layer of light patterns and was utterly unenterable.

Even though there were light patterns, one could still see the inside of the hall.

When Yadasai looked inside, he was instantly frozen on the spot.

What did he see!

The statue of the Cruel Scholar in the center of the hall had its wings spread out?! The statue was the medium for the descent of the Scholar’s consciousness, and if it moved, it meant the consciousness of the Cruel Scholar had descended once again!

Why had it descended? Was it planning to intervene in the game between the Deep Lord and the Abyssal Demon Eye again?

Yadasai thought to himself, feeling it almost impossible. But for what purpose had the consciousness of the Cruel Scholar descended?

With doubt, Yadasai’s gaze shifted slowly and looked towards the other side of the hall. When he saw the scene before him, he was stunned.

Why was the owner of the Misty Cabin here? And his actions, they seemed as if he was… feeding Jupiter?!
