Warhammer: Saiyan Adopted by the Wolf King

Chapter 56: Chapter 56: The Fine Saiyan Tradition and the Healing Power of Ki

Axis's seemingly casual strike caused the Second Primarch's body to tremble for a moment, and then he collapsed to the ground!

Pain, every inch of his body was wracked with pain!

That armoured hand from earlier had even fractured the bones in his neck.

"Even though I only used ten percent of my strength just now, the fact that you didn't immediately go down actually surprised me a little," Axis said, arms folded across his chest, making no move to continue the attack.

Saiyans had a particularly bad habit: whenever the battle was going their way, they liked to show off, sometimes recklessly so.

This fine tradition, Axis had to admit, he'd inherited it perfectly.

As a Saiyan, if he didn't mess around when he had the upper hand, he'd be letting his bloodline down.

"Ah! Ah!" The Second Primarch roared in fury, spun around, and threw a savage punch straight at Axis's face.

Axis didn't dodge or flinch, instead, he met the punch head-on with his own unprotected forehead.

With a loud bang, Axis was completely unscathed, while the Second Primarch staggered back several steps, clutching his fist in pain.

"Heh! Hey, hey, are you trying to tickle me? Come on, hit me harder."

By now, the Second Primarch had lost all reason.

His eyes were bloodshot, and he launched wild, frenzied attacks at Axis.

His speed was tremendous and his power terrifying, but to Axis, whose ki perception let him read every move, these attacks were nothing.

Axis weaved left and right, effortlessly dodging blows that seemed agonizingly slow in his eyes.

In the Dragon Ball universe, there was a simple rule: if your battle power was vastly greater than your opponent's, then, even landing a single hit became impossible for them.

Suspended in midair, Axis used just his feet to effortlessly block all of the Second Primarch's attacks.

Every so often, he'd even give the big guy a tap on the head. He had to admit, Primarchs were tough, super durable punching bags!

This big sandbag was way more fun than any Custodian!

Dodging another attack, Axis lazily stretched out a single finger, pointed it at the Second Primarch's head, and gave him a gentle flick on the forehead.

The Second Primarch felt his whole brain buzzing, his vision swam, and then he was sent flying, crashing through building after building before coming to a stop in the rubble.

He didn't get up for a long time.

It was said that if a Primarch awakened their true Warp essence, they could become terrifying.

During the Battle of Prospero, Russ had displayed his psychic might, clashing with Magnus.

All Primarchs were, by nature, minor gods of the Warp, in other words, they were born with incredible powers.

In the 40K era, a powerful psyker could potentially wipe out half a planet's worth of Orks in an instant.

Axis wondered whether this near-death Primarch might be able to unleash his own Warp essence.

If he could, things would get interesting.

Axis might even get a chance to test out some new ki techniques.

Meanwhile, Russ, watching from the sidelines, couldn't help feeling confused.

Axis had obviously been able to finish the Second Primarch off in a single move.

But instead, this brat seemed… well, seemed to be playing with him!

Playing with a Primarch?

Back in the ruins, the Second Primarch struggled to his feet, but even that seemed almost impossible for him.

He hadn't been at full strength to begin with, he'd already suffered heavy injuries from his earlier fight with Duo, much less the spider construct constantly pulsing in his cranium, disrupting his reason, damaging his neural pathways and making it impossible for him to fight with any technique at all.

"Looks like that thing on your head is causing you a lot of pain! Let me help you out," Axis said.

He extended a finger, and a golden ray of ki shot out, hitting the controller on the Primarch's head with pinpoint accuracy.

With a thunderous boom, the spider-like mechanical controller was blasted to pieces.

The attack was so precise that it destroyed only the controller on the outside, without damaging the parts embedded inside.

It could be described as a move as delicate as surgery.

"Aaahhh! Hah! Hah!" The Second Primarch let out a scream of pure agony.

The machine embedded in his brain had finally stopped working, but the remaining fragments were still ravaging his neural pathways.

At this point, the Second Primarch had fallen into a critical state, teetering on the brink of death.

He lay on the ground, his entire body convulsing.

He looked as though he was about to die at any moment.

What the hell!

Axis had actually expected him to unleash some hidden power, but instead, he was about to die outright.

It seemed these mind-control devices really couldn't be removed by force, just like with Angron!

If you tried to yank them out, you'd end up destroying the brain, maybe even killing the victim instantly.

While Axis had destroyed the external part on the Primarch's head, the embedded section was still wreaking havoc in his skull.

Well, at least it wouldn't be sending out any more mind-warping commands.

Axis floated down beside the Second Primarch, placing his palm gently on the other's head.

A soft, milky-white light began to shine from his hand.

This light was gentle, completely different from the destructive energy he usually wielded.

Ki was a mysterious power; besides its destructive force, it also contained potent life energy.

During the past two months of training, Axis's superhuman mind had gradually mastered some of the basics of ki manipulation.

While he'd been strengthening the Custodians with ki, he'd also learned a lot about human anatomy, even developing new ways to control ki.

He'd learned how to nurture cells without damaging them.

Just last night, while cultivating Saibamen, Axis had gotten even more comfortable with this gentler form of ki control.

So now, he figured he'd test out ki's healing capabilities, using this Primarch as his experimental subject.

If he failed and the Second Primarch died, well, he'd still complete his mission as planned.

But if he succeeded, he'd have saved a Primarch, one who, by all rights, should have been erased from history.

"Axis, what are you doing?" Leman Russ walked over and asked.

"Don't worry, old man! Just watch. I'm trying out some healing. Let's see if I can save your brother," Axis replied.

From Axis's palm, a steady, gentle milky-white glow continued to radiate, as life-giving ki seeped into the Second Primarch's shattered skull like a trickling spring.

At the same time, he removed his gaunlets and picked out the pieces of the mind control construct stuck to the primarchs brain.

Nourished by this life energy, the neural endings corroded by the machine began to regenerate like new shoots in spring.

Broken blood vessels wove themselves into a delicate network of nerves at a microscopic level.

The Primarch's brain began to rapidly repair itself, the cells absorbing the power of ki and growing tougher in the process.

A faint smile played at the corner of Axis's lips as he watched the Second Primarch's brain slowly mend.
