Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde

Chapter 114: Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [114]

"The strength of this power armor is sufficient. Using this material to achieve this level of performance is already impressive," Rhodes nodded and said.

These Space Marines, after undergoing modification surgeries, could no longer wear the old model of armor, which was why a new batch needed to be made. Otherwise, they could have just worn the old models, as they wouldn't have minded. The newly invented power armor exceeding the performance of the Terminator-class power armor was already remarkable, especially since Terminator power armor was a treasure of the Empire.

Early the next morning, Rhodes instructed Sister Elena to bring all the Battle Sisters, while Titus and Magro brought all the Space Marines to the spaceship's basement. According to Salome's instructions, they began assembling the new power armor.

"Be careful. Just follow the design blueprints I've given you for assembly. I've already upgraded all the components," Salome directed everyone as they began to assemble the new power armor. "The Battle Sisters are responsible for assembling the smaller components, while the final assembly work will be completed by the Space Marines."

"Lord Rhodes, is this power armor a Terminator model? A new version of the Terminator armor?" asked Chaplain Magro as he stepped forward to examine the two assembled power armors. Judging by their design, materials, and appearance, he could tell they were Terminator models.

"Yes, it is indeed Terminator armor, or rather, an enhanced version of the Terminator model," Rhodes responded.

"This is too extravagant. We only need some standard power armor," Titus said, shaking his head. Back when he served as a second company captain in the Ultramarines, he couldn't afford Terminator armor, yet here he was, about to wear an enhanced version of it.

"I acquired some old versions of power armor, including one Terminator model. However, after you underwent the new modification surgeries, these armors no longer fit you, so new ones were necessary. Don't worry about it; these are all provided free of charge," Rhodes said with a smile.

According to the three alien scientists, these things weren't worth much. After all, the design ideas were based on the Space Marines' previous armor, with just some optimizations and improvements.

"Prepare yourselves; the new surgeries can begin now. Leave some people here to continue assembling the armor, and choose two members to come with me for the modifications," Rhodes instructed.

"Lord Rhodes, both Chaplain Magro and I wish to be the first experimental subjects. Let us go first," Titus volunteered. Chaplain Magro, standing beside him, nodded in agreement. As the chaplain and commander of this Space Marine unit, they felt it was their duty to be the first to undergo the surgery and set an example for everyone else.

"Very well. The rest of you stay here and continue assembling the new power armor. You two, come with me," Rhodes said, nodding as he led Titus and Chaplain Magro to the laboratory.

The operating table was fully prepared. Balt and Zett each managed one operating table, allowing for two surgeries to be performed simultaneously.

"Alright, take off your clothes and lie down on the operating tables. Let's begin immediately—move quickly," Balt instructed.

The two nodded to each other, then removed their power armor and lay down on the respective operating tables. After being injected with anesthetics, they quickly lost consciousness.

"Master, Balt and I have added a core pituitary system to this surgery!" Zett said.

"This core pituitary system incorporates some of the technologies I know, including elements from the Yapool Ultra-Beast system. It further enhances the Space Marines' capabilities, enabling them to unleash greater combat power in a short time and resist certain psychic attacks. Additionally, the pituitary core can stimulate and influence their brains, embedding psychological suggestion commands to ensure absolute loyalty to you. They will believe everything you say is correct and will never betray you."

Creating these enhanced warriors, even if they were just cannon fodder, still required safety measures. After discussing it with Balt, they added a peanut-sized pituitary system to the Space Marines' brains to ensure their loyalty.

"Oh! That's a good idea. Go ahead and include it in the surgeries. Equip every one of them with this system. In the future, this special pituitary will also be part of the standard Space Marine modification surgery. The psychological suggestion program will be designed by the two of you," Rhodes said, nodding in approval.

"In addition to that, we've added something else. We've incorporated Zettonian bio-skin material into their black carapace armor, significantly enhancing their defense capabilities."

"No problem. Does that count as a new organ implant?" Rhodes asked.

"No, Master. This is just an enhancement to their existing black carapace. While it's much stronger now, it doesn't count as a new implant," Balt replied, shaking his head.

This idea was proposed by Zett. Zettonian skin cannot be directly implanted onto their skin, but it can be embedded beneath it, just like their black carapace.

In the future, Space Marine modification surgery will differ from the original Astartes surgery, resulting in warriors with greater combat power and increased loyalty to their creator. Once Rhodes' body grows stronger, he plans to extract his genetic seed and implant it into these modified warriors.

The two immediately began the surgical process. First, the unconscious subjects were placed in medical pods, and the skin-cutting procedure commenced. Their black carapaces were removed, followed by the extraction of each of their superhuman organs. These were replaced with newly cultivated superhuman organs.

Bone-strengthening agents were implanted, followed by the addition of Zettonian biochemical muscles. Finally, their skulls were opened to implant a special monster pituitary gland. This gland not only enhances their combat effectiveness but also continuously provides psychological suggestions to increase their loyalty to Rhodes.

The modification surgery was completed swiftly, taking only an hour. Balt and Zett worked together to transform the two subjects into interstellar warriors. Once the surgery was completed, they were placed back into the medical pods.

"All right, Master. All the surgical procedures are complete. Their bodies have already started regenerating. Let them rest in the medical pods to absorb nutrients and accelerate their growth. In three days, they will be fully recovered and ready for action," Balt said.

"Good. Let's begin with the next batch!" Rhodes left the operating room and brought in two more Space Marines.

In just 24 hours, the duo had completed the transformation of over 40 Space Marines. By the next evening, after a day and a half of work, they had successfully modified all the old Space Marine.

...

Three days passed quickly. During this time, over 70 sets of new power armor had been assembled by Salome. This was more than enough for all the Space Marines, so production was halted.

In the medical pods, Titus, Chaplain Magro, and the Space Marines who underwent surgery on the first day had undergone a complete transformation. Their bodies, which were previously 2.1 to 2.2 meters tall, had grown to a staggering height of 3.1 meters.

Their physiques became stronger and more proportionate, with no visible scars from the surgical modifications—only black carapace-like connection points for the power armor.

This round of Space Marines modification surgery utilized a significant amount of advanced Arcanotech. Three new organs were added, bringing the modifications on par with the original Astartes surgeries. Additionally, the previously implemented 19 superhuman organs were further enhanced, giving the warriors a complete metamorphosis.

Titus and Chaplain Magro were the first to awaken.

"You're awake. The surgery was a complete success. You are now super interstellar warriors. We've added three new modifications: biochemical muscle enhancement, skeletal reinforcement, and a special pituitary gland. Your defense, attack power, and agility now far exceed those of regular interstellar warriors," said Rhodes as he approached them.

"Lord Rhodes, we can feel it. Our entire bodies are brimming with power," the two said as they stepped out of the medical pods and moved around to test their new bodies.

At this point, the two had grown to 3.1 meters tall, towering approximately one meter above Rhodes. They now looked like small giants. Their height was only slightly shorter than that of the Custodes, whose average height ranged from 3.2 to 3.3 meters, with the tallest reaching 3.5 meters.

Rhodes was eager to test their combat capabilities. He wondered how these super Space Marines would fare in a battle against the Emperor's Custodes. While the original Astartes were significantly stronger than regular soldiers, they couldn't compare to the Custodes. But how would his new super warriors measure up?

"Your height and weight mean your old equipment no longer fits. Let's try the new power armor," Rhodes said.

The two nodded and followed Rhodes out of the operating room. With Salome's assistance, they donned the newly developed power armor.

This power armor came with additional equipment, including the Space Marines' favorite chainswords, a new model of boltguns, and kinetic swords. However, their previous Pedanium rifles were now unusable due to their increased size. These weapons would need to be modified before they could be used by the super Space Marines. For now, they could only use the modified bolters.

Once they were equipped, the two moved around to acclimate themselves to their new bodies, power armor, and weaponry.

"This is amazing, Lord Rhodes," they said.

Rhodes nodded in satisfaction before returning to the operating room to awaken the remaining Space Marines. Over the next period of time, these super Space Marines would need to quickly adapt to their newly modified bodies.
