Villain: My Thoughts Are Being Overheard by the Heroines!

Chapter 9:

Chapter 9: So You’re the Real Damn Best Actor, Huh?!:

“Young Master, are you comfortable?”

The little loli stood behind Gu Jinnian, massaging his shoulders as she spoke in a soft, sticky voice.

Ugh! That clingy little tone. Can’t you speak normally? This is unbearable.

Gu Jinnian sighed in his heart but didn’t respond. He only nodded.

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to talk to her—he just had to follow the plot. In the original storyline, Jinnian had a prejudice against this loli and didn’t like to deal with her.

The huge villa was quiet. Gu Jinnian closed his eyes and used the opportunity to check the system and see if there were any rewards.

As soon as he closed his eyes, a crisp system notification rang in his mind.

[Ding! Main plotline progress: 1% complete. Reward: one year of cultivation.]

[Side missions: Unknown.]

[Host, please continue your efforts.]

One year of cultivation? Not bad. Gu Jinnian was quite satisfied. Right now, cultivation was very important to him—it was the foundation that let him stay alive in the early stages.

“Young Master, Xue’er will feed you some fruit.”

As she spoke, she stuffed a cherry into his mouth. Gu Jinnian opened his eyes. While being fed fruit by the loli, his thoughts were elsewhere.

[Tomorrow… seems like there’s another scene for me.]

[Ah, right! The undercover spy Ye Chen sent is supposed to appear tomorrow. There’s a ‘hero saves beauty’ scene waiting for me. Mm, kind of looking forward to it.]

[Alright, that’s enough for today. Time to sleep~]

A whole night passed quickly.

As the sky began to brighten, Qian Xue had already prepared breakfast early and was waiting for the Young Master to eat.

After enjoying a delicious meal, Gu Jinnian took the loli and left the house. Today was a big day. He had to arrive early for the performance.

“Young Master, where are we going?”

Gu Jinnian glanced at the sweet and harmless-looking loli beside him and said softly, “Just wandering around to digest the food. It’s been a while since I took you out anyway. I’ll buy you something.”

Hearing this, Qian Xue’s heart remained cold, but her face lit up warmly.

“Thank you, Young Master!”

Seeing how happy she acted, Gu Jinnian couldn’t help but shake his head.

If you ask me, this woman is the real damn best actor. She clearly doesn’t want to be here, yet she can fake that kind of excitement flawlessly. Not a single crack in her expression. That’s acting for real!

To be honest, Gu Jinnian didn’t like her. He even found her a little disgusting. She felt way too fake. Among all the female leads in this novel, Gu Jinnian disliked her the most.

In the middle of the plotline, she was the first one to betray him, which led to Ye Chen scheming against him terribly.

Damn, that hurt.

Forget it. Don’t think about it. Just follow the plot properly.

The two of them walked along the road, one in front and one behind. Gu Jinnian strolled aimlessly with his hands in his pockets.

Within just a few minutes, more than ten girls had come over to flirt with him.

What could he do? As a textbook villain, his looks were on par with Edison Chen—absurdly handsome. He had a unique aura and a tall, straight figure. Every movement radiated an irresistible masculine charm.

With messy hair and deep, starry eyes, even the smallest gestures like blinking could be fatal to girls.

But who would believe that such a perfect man was once Lin Zhixin’s simp?

Just thinking about it made Gu Jinnian feel sick.

Novels are always brainless—turns out that’s completely true.

But that’s just how it is. After all, this is a novel.

Villains aren’t allowed to be perfect. If they were, how would the protagonist stand out?

This is the system. Just accept it and learn to play.

Hoo— Gu Jinnian let out a long sigh and continued walking.

No one knew how long had passed. It was already around noon. The streets were getting more crowded.

Gu Jinnian yawned. He was so tired from walking, he was getting sleepy. He raised his wrist and checked his Patek Philippe watch.

Alright. Right on time.

That undercover woman should be showing up soon.

As he walked, he arrived at a quiet alleyway. The clock had just struck twelve. With the loli beside him, he stepped into the narrow lane.

Qian Xue looked around, totally confused as to what he was doing.

“Ah!!!”

Right then, a sharp scream echoed from the alley.

The voice was shrill—clearly filled with fear.

“Help!”

Another cry rang out. This one was calling for help.

Gu Jinnian’s mouth twitched.

Wow, right on cue. Just hit twelve and you’re already acting?

A moment later, a woman in tattered linen clothing came running toward Gu Jinnian. Behind her were more than a dozen fierce-looking men chasing after her.

Gu Jinnian shook his head helplessly.

This setup is way too obvious.

But there was nothing he could do. The plotline had started. He had to act.

The woman sprinting ahead in ragged clothes was, of course, the spy Ye Chen had planted beside him. She was also one of the novel’s female leads. Her name was Yun Ling.

The name sounded poetic, but her background was tragic.

Her parents had been killed accidentally—by Ye Chen.

But Yun Ling had still taken Ye Chen as her master.

Isn’t that the ultimate irony?

Out of guilt, Ye Chen trained her carefully over the years, and Yun Ling eventually became a top-tier assassin—one of his most trusted aides.

This woman was pitiful. Her enemy was right by her side, and she had no clue.

Gu Jinnian couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for her.

Still, even if he pitied her, he wasn’t going to do anything.

This was a fictional world. Whether she was pitiful or not had nothing to do with him.

The next moment—

The plot officially kicked off.

Whoosh! Yun Ling, covered in dust, threw herself at Gu Jinnian’s feet.

“Please save me! I’m scared… those people want to hurt me!”

As she said this, she cried with tears and snot everywhere, soaking Gu Jinnian’s sleeve in the process.

Uh…

That scene completely shattered Gu Jinnian’s confidence.

Damn it!

Look at that acting!

Why does it feel like everyone acts better than me?

Speechless…

Yun Ling, oh Yun Ling, turns out you’re the real damn Best Actor?

No—Best Actress!

[This is insane! I’ve totally lost confidence now… this is crushing…]

[Forget it. Don’t think too much. Just keep following the plot.]

[Tsk! Yun Ling’s acting is good, but there’s still a flaw.]

[She looks terrified on the outside, but her eyes are way too calm.]

[Heh! Caught you, didn’t I?]

Yun Ling’s eyes widened: ???
