Vampire Revenge: Blood, Sex & Violence

Chapter 27: 27

It was half past ten, he had time until five or six in the afternoon when Laura would call him to help her take the boxes down to the storage room. Pablo got dressed and decided to go hunting, and the Barcelona metro on a Sunday was an opportunity to see pickpockets in action trying to rob tourists. Perhaps death was a very harsh punishment for a robbery, but he couldn't be a moralist in his situation or naive.

Pickpockets in Barcelona were not criminals with a single crime, but multiple repeat offenders who had transformed something that could be justified by necessity into a way of life outside of any moral regulation. What better place to hunt a criminal than that.

Pablo got on the metro and got off at one of the most central stations, in Plaza Catalunya, being Saturday it would be full of pickpockets. Many tourists went from one side to the other and the vampire just walked around attentively. Unusual sounds, strange gestures, but the key was often the smell of adrenaline when they approached a prey.

The station was particularly crowded, with the platforms so full that if someone put their hand in a bag it would be very difficult for anyone to notice. The ideal moment to steal was when they got on the wagons, those were the seconds before, where the victim got on and walked away, and the thief could calmly turn around and get lost in the crowd.

He had been watching several thieves from afar, but one in particular caught his attention, it was not because of his appearance, a normal boy with a cap, it was because of the victims he robbed, always young girls, always from behind, but the worst thing was that when someone seemed to want to say something or he detected him, instead of running away he would confront them, make a bad face or call them racists. You had to be a real son of a bitch to play the racism card to shut people up and hide your own crime.

The boy with the cap had already stolen a couple of purses, there were so many people around him that the boy had not noticed the predator next to him, in front of him a girl was calmly waiting for the subway to arrive, there were only a few seconds left for the train to enter the station, the thief went to advance towards the back of the girl, but without knowing how he not only tripped, but it was as if he had been pushed from behind.

The boy fell onto the subway track, it whistled and he tried to stop, the boy tried to get up from the rails but it was too late, everything had happened in just a few seconds and before the astonished gaze of everyone present. The women were screaming, the girl herself had seen how that boy tripped and fell right on her left side, she tried to grab him but luckily a strong hand pulled her away in time before the train hit her too.

No one had seen the slight trip or the strong push that Pablo gave her with his hip as he pretended to turn to look somewhere else. These were gestures that would go unnoticed, but even with so many people, the security images would be of no use.

A poor pickpocket who tripped and fell on the train track, despite the initial scandal and some fuss, the city would forget about the incident in a few days.

The Pseudo Vampire turned around and left the place before the authorities began to arrive. He did like many others, if the subway was not going to work for a couple of hours due to the "tragic accident" he would take another line to his house. It was that simple and without remorse.

As a Justicar Pablo knew that he was bordering on morality, that his actions were exaggerated and even more so for this time. In the thirteenth century, if a thief was punished even harshly, it would not matter to anyone, but now it was different, humans had become weak and hypocritical. On the one hand they would defend human rights as if it were a new mantra, but on the other they continued to support ideologies, politicians and governments that made wars, massacred or profited at their own expense.

Before going up to his house Pablo decided to go buy something to eat. The cafeteria where Angela worked was closed on Sundays. Trying something was not an option, it was better to go for a Kebab.

It's not that Pablo was a fan of junk food, but compared to any food from the thirteenth century, it was a delight. Besides, few things were as good on a hangover day as some high-calorie food, especially if he didn't have to prepare it himself.

The place was on a side street, the whole neighbourhood complained bitterly that this place used to be an old "Granja", a type of café very common in Barcelona where they had always served coffee and sandwiches.

However, when he entered the bar, Gisela was there, it seemed that she had dressed in the first thing she had found while buying something to eat. The girl turned around as soon as Pablo

went through the door and the buzzer went off. She seemed surprised although in reality they lived close to each other.

"Hey, hello"

"Hungover too?"

"It's Saturday, it's time"

Pablo placed his order, a large mixed kebab roll with only meat and yogurt sauce and extra spicy, and another normal kebab with vegetables and the two sauces, some chips and a light soda. The girl seemed surprised by all the food the boy had ordered. Compared to her order of a small kebab without chips and a soda, the boy looked like he had ordered food for two.

"Did they send you to get food?"

"What the hell, this is just for me"

"Are you able to eat all that?"

"And that's because it's early"

Actually, placed side by side, Pablo's corpulence stood out even more against the girl's small body.

"Ha ha ha, sometimes I forget that not everyone is as small as me"

"Do you usually buy a lot here? It's the first time we've met outside the subway"

"Not much, but my roommates have gone to the beach, I don't like sunbathing"

The truth is that the girl's skin remained with that translucent white typical of goths even without makeup, Pablo admired that the girl with a clean face and without makeup or all the paraphernalia was really pretty. He had to admit that this aesthetic reminded him of times past with other vampire companions with whom he had shared a bed and life.

"If you're going to eat alone, why don't you come up to my flat? It's a drag to eat in the kitchen without talking to anyone"

"Why not, I don't like eating without anyone to talk to either"

Pablo knew he was about to fail in his mission of taking his time, but thinking about it, he could get a lot out of the situation. The casual and violent sex scene had shown him that this girl was far from having a normal sexual appetite and prudish tastes.

Domination? Sado-masochism?

Pablo smiled to himself as he picked up his order. The truth is that the fantasy suited the girl and he also understood that it was difficult for her to fulfill without putting herself at risk. The new generations and especially men did not really understand many things about sex, at least not as he could. One of the great problems of humans was porn. Pablo was a vampire, a being who throughout the centuries had tried and generated all kinds of pleasures, but he was clear about one thing: the porn that could be seen on the Internet had nothing to do with pleasure, at least for women, and even less with the concept that any boy could have of sado-masochistic practices.

One of the small influences that Ashan managed to have was to make Pablo read the texts and codes of the Marquis de Sade. It was not only a question of consent, but that dominating the other person was not exclusively for self-satisfaction, to do anything or humiliation with the other person, but to give them a pleasure that could only be obtained when the mind entered a state of resistance, surprise, domination and satisfaction.

For Ashan, internet porn was only visual stimuli in case of lack of sex, even so he had preferred to induce fantasies in Pablo's mind than to allow him to fall into the puerile and bizarre porn that could be found.

The building where Gisela's student flat was located was the typical block of the Eixample, with elongated flats whose living room faced the main façade but many rooms were enclosed behind a long corridor in the part that faced the open interior courtyard.

They ate in the kitchen, sitting at the small table and sharing trivial things. The girl was a philosophy student, and she was really surprised when Pablo told her that he still had one year left to finish high school. Gisela had classmates who were much less mature than him, and less sexually developed of course.

If the girl ate in small bites, the hungry Pablo seemed to be devouring the kebabs like a car at the pump of a gas station, in a hurry and without pause it was the beginning of the hunger of his transformation into a vampire who was not satisfied with simple food. In the end she let him take some potatoes while they joked about the size of the boy's stomach.

When the meal came to an end Gisela stood up and said to him.

"Come, I'll show you my room"

When the door opened, that room looked like something out of a movie with horror scenes, Dethmetal posters, skulls, coffins, drawings on the walls and colors that did not go beyond black or at most violet. But Pablo found the posters with those semi-romantic vampire scenes funny. It was anything but like the life of a real vampire, marked by violence, planning and sex.

It is true that vampires often ended up having relationships with other vampires, although he had learned the hard way that it was better not to have intense relationships with his own vampire offspring, the girls became dependent and territorial.

Vampires usually had corrupted humans around them, more docile, more manageable, or even maidens, or slaves, people who were only granted a small part of the parasite's gifts but without gaining immortality. But raising offspring was different, the change, the control of the neophyte vampire's hunger was complicated and the fights for the master's love could be tedious to resolve.

In addition to all that gothic decoration, some leather handcuffs could be seen, the kind used for sexual games hanging as ornaments on the headboard of the bed.

The girl was about to start playing some music from a Gothic group that had been in fashion for a few years, but at that moment Pablo's strong arms lifted her into the air, throwing her onto the bed. The girl looked at him, surprised and amused. She sensed what was going to happen, although she was not aware that she had a real vampire in front of her, a being much more terrifying and cold than what modern vampire stories could tell.
