Chapter 14: First Monster
[: 3rd Pov :]
As Daniel was still assessing his skills and stats, the monsters living in the forbidden zone didn't give him the time to relax.
The ground trembled beneath Daniel's feet as a massive shadow loomed on the horizon.
''What's going on?''
His eyes narrowed, instinctively alert to the danger that approached.
The air around him grew heavy, charged with a palpable sense of malevolence.
It was a presence that threatened to suffocate, yet Daniel stood unmoving, his gaze locked on the approaching figure.
The creature that emerged from the shadows was unlike anything Daniel had ever encountered.
Or perhaps, he had never seen it before.
A towering monstrosity, easily over thirty feet tall, with rippling muscles that seemed to pulse with raw power beneath its crimson-red skin.
Its body was a grotesque tapestry of scars and battle-worn armour, as though it had fought countless battles and emerged victorious each time.
Thick, jagged tusks protruded from its lower jaw, curving like blades, and its eyes glowed a burning yellow, burning with a ferocity that could melt the very earth under its gaze.
''What was the skill name again?'' Due to the fact that he has too many skills and too much information, he still needs time to master them.
''Oh right, it was this''
''Eyes of Calamity: Status Effect" He muttered and immidiately, his eyes became slit and he was able to observe the stats of the incoming monster.
[: Tyrant Ogre :]
Level: 113
HP: 100K
MP: 20K
.....
..
.
The tyrant ogre had dozens of skills and had its own physique, traits and so on, but Daniel noticed that all of his stats were rather lower than his.
Thus, he had a question.
''System, I have a question. If all of my skills are that overpowered, to what extent are they able to affect those levels that are higher than me?''
[: As long as the Host's overall stats are higher than the targets, it will work, and to add on, the Host possesses skills that are able to bypass levels, affecting those that are higher than the Host :]
''Alright, got it" All he needed was to understand that information, and now, he was ready.
On the other hand, the tyrant ogre's steps were heavy, each footfall causing the ground to crack and tremble as though the earth itself feared the creature's presence.
Massive arms, thick as tree trunks, swayed with every movement it drew closer.
But despite the overwhelming aura of destruction and terror that the Tyrant Ogre exuded, Daniel felt no fear.
His body thrummed with power, each muscle pulsing with newfound energy as the awakening surged through him.
The oppressive weight of the Ogre's presence was nothing more than a distant murmur compared to the fire burning within him.
Daniel stood tall, his eyes cold, his stance unwavering.
The Tyrant Ogre's sheer size and terror-inducing aura should have made anyone tremble, but Daniel merely grinned, a small but confident smile curling at the edges of his lips.
He made a promise and oath to get out of here and find them.
And he knows that it wasn't an easy challenge.
So, how can he be afraid of a mere monster?
The monster roared, the sound deafening, as it raised one of its gargantuan fists high, ready to crush Daniel into the ground with a single blow.
The earth itself seemed to recoil in fear as the Ogre's fist hurtled toward him, but Daniel didn't even flinch.
''For now, let's test my strength,'' Daniel said as he wanted to know how much of a difference they both had.
After all, he already knows that his strength far surpasses the tyrant ogre.
As soon as the fist came down upon him, Daniel merely raised his hand the Tyrant Ogre's fist collided.
The moment their fist collided, there was a pure force of shockwave that echoed as the impact spread.
''!?''
The monster growled in frustration, swinging its other massive arm to strike, but Daniel's grin only grew wider.
[: Indomitable Destruction: Decay of Nothingness :]
With a flick of his wrist, a greyish pulsating wave of energy surged forward, enveloping the Tyrant Ogre's arm.
It howled in pain, the energy sizzling as it decayed all of its arm into nothingness.
"Is this all you've got?" Daniel muttered, his voice steady, unwavering.
The Tyrant Ogre roared in fury, staggering back, blood dripping from the deep wounds that now marred its once-imposing form.
But it wasn't enough to stop it. It charged once again, its eyes now full of rage, its monstrous strength and terror overwhelming.
Yet, Daniel's expression never wavered.
"Alright, then. Let's see how you handle this."
He raised his hand high, a wave of greyish energy swirling around his fingers.
The air seemed to crackle with the power of the decay, and in a single, fluid motion, Daniel unleashed the full force of his decay.
His fingertips released a blinding surge of destructive power that shot toward the Tyrant Ogre.
He controls the energy of decay and tones it down enough for its armour to be decayed,d nad it sent it flying backwards with an ear-piercing screech.
The ground trembled as the Tyrant Ogre crashed into a distant rock formation, its massive body creating a shockwave of dust and debris.
The monster groaned in pain, struggling to rise to its feet, but it was clear that the attack had done significant damage.
But Daniel wasn't done. He wasn't going to allow it the chance to recover.
He advanced, his steps purposeful, his power surging around him like a tidal wave of destruction.
The Tyrant Ogre, dazed but still alive, attempted to rise, but its body was sluggish, weighed down by the damage.
Its eyes flickered with the first hint of fear, but it was too late.
Daniel's eyes glowed ominously, and his eyes changed once more, akin to a being that grants death.
"Death Effect''
A single pulse of energy shot forth from his eyes, and the world seemed to bend around the attack.
The Tyrant Ogre let out a final, deafening scream as its body disintegrated into nothingness, the very essence of its being erased from existence as the overwhelming power of the Death Effect of Epoch took its toll.
In an instant, the once-mighty Tyrant Ogre was reduced to nothing but ash and smoke, blown away by the wind as though it had never been.
Daniel stood amidst the clearing smoke, his breath steady, his expression calm.
The monster that had once seemed so imposing, so powerful, was now nothing more than a distant memory.
A small smile tugged at his lips.
"Well, that was easy," he muttered under his breath, his heart still pounding with the excitement of the battle.
It wasn't that he was being too confident, but it's the fact that his skills were overpowered and strong enough to bypass levels.
He looked up at the empty space where the Tyrant Ogre had once stood, his gaze sharp and focused.
"First one down...thousands more to go." He smiled.
[: Congratulations, you have killed Tyrant Ogre and due to the effects of Endless Potential, the Exp obtained has been multiplied :]
[: Congratulations, due to the effects of Endless Potential, all stats obtained will multiply by 2 times :]
[: Congratulations, you have received rewards due to your first kill and first level up :]
[: Congratulations, as you have killed a Being which is 1 Grade higher than you, you have received a total of 11.3K Exp and have levelled up to 11, and you have obtained a total stats point of 100 :]
''10 Levels higher!? That fast?'' Daniel was flabbergasted by the time it took for him to level up.
But after a while, he understood that because of his skills and the multiplication of buffs and exp that he was able to level up that fast.
''So, meaning to say that with the sp I have, I can distribute towards my stat?''
[: That's right, Host :]
Without further ado, Daniel summoned his stats and took a few seconds, pondering at which points he should allocate.
However, after a while, he discovered that it was pointless.
After all, the buffs he had were insane, and to add on with his Endless Potential Passive skill, there was no need to stress it all out.
Hence, he had made his decision.
''Alright, this is good enough for now''
