Unlimited Blind Box At HxH

Chapter 527: Defeat Was Only A Matter Of Time

Both Gon and Killua were fully aware of the current situation, and they were both completely at ease as if they had taken a calming pill.

Instead of being worried, they sat calmly in front of Neferpitou, pretending to be serious while continuing to monitor her.

However, in reality, the moment Neferpitou showed any signs of sudden aggression, they would immediately withdraw.

Since they had already confirmed the elimination of the main target, the Chimera Ant king, they naturally didn't feel the need to engage in any life-threatening actions.

There was no need to anymore; all the major problems and the main source of disaster had essentially been solved.

The chaotic situation caused by the Chimera Ants had been reduced to just the final three royal guards.

Besides Neferpitou here, Shaiapouf was dealing with Gon's father, Ging Freecss. Meanwhile, in the central palace, Menthuthuyoupi was about to be overwhelmed by Knuckle's ability to the point of losing his composure.

Their defeat was only a matter of time, and it was almost certain they wouldn't lose.

Therefore, Gon and Killua didn't take any actions that would put themselves in danger. The crisis was almost over, and it would be completely unjust to risk their lives at this stage. It would be utterly meaningless.

"And Lan will be bringing Chairman Netero back soon, so we should just stay here and wait for them."

Gon said calmly.

"Don't do anything unnecessary or meaningless. Just wait quietly and safely."

Gon and Killua exchanged a glance and, without a word, decisively came to an understanding.

At the same time, Lan, who was heading back to the royal palace, had already distanced himself from the center of the explosion and could now see the palaces in the distance.

"Your speed seems to have increased quite a bit..."

Netero, who was being carried by Lan, clearly felt the change in Lan's pace.

This speed was comparable to that of the Chimera Ant king, who had been dodging his 100-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva.

"This is just a little trick..."

Lan smiled casually. What he was using was an ability he had obtained from a blind box. More specifically, it was an ability he had gained from one of the three royal guards.

From Neferpitou, he had obtained Majin Buu's healing ability. From the battle between Meruem and Netero, he got Unlimited Void. Now, the ability he was using came from the blind box opened from Shaiapouf's battlefield.

[Do you want to open the Rare-level blind box?]

[Open successfully, obtained: Turtle-Fly Style Martial Art (Source World: The Outcast)]

The red Rare-level blind box was perfectly suited to the situation and the characters involved.

One of Shaiapouf's powerful Nen abilities is Body Reconstruction, which is very helpful for cell division, speed, and recombination.

Naturally, the turtle fly flow from the Outcast world also fits this perfectly.

The Turtle-Fly Style Martial Art involved burning the life force to increase bodily functions several times. This was exactly in line with the overwhelming burning of life force Shaiapouf was doing when facing Ging Freecss.

It was quite fitting.

Moreover, within the Turtle-Fly Style Martial Art, there was also something called the turtle fly body.

This is the technique of Wang Ye, the rich young man in the imperial capital; this technique allows the user to go into a slower time space before activating the turtle fly body, which accelerates the user's body.

This technique could also be used independently but requires a high level of physical conditioning.

In simple terms, it was akin to riding a tricycle at a speed of over 500 miles per hour; the result was a tremendous increase in speed and power, but the strain on the body was immense.

Once activated, the turtle fly body caused the user's bones, muscles, and internal organs to grow exponentially, resulting in superhuman speed and strength, though this was based on the burning of life force. In essence, it was a burst-style ability that greatly enhanced both speed and strength.

After obtaining this ability, Lan was eager to experience it himself and tested it out.

"Speed, strength, reaction time... all metrics have been raised several levels..."

Netero quietly observed Lan's transformation. "Your base abilities were already strong."

"If you added this kind of explosive power, then if you fight Meruem..."

Netero mused.

"But there are no ifs in this world, chairman." Lan interrupted with a laugh.

"Also, you know my personality. I'm not the type to enjoy fighting to the death."

"I'm not passionate about combat. Having immense power is just a means to achieve my goals more effectively."

"Since there are better, faster, and easier ways to accomplish my objectives, I wouldn't choose the so-called path of the martial artist."

"It's possible but unnecessary. My fists are just meant to make those who don't understand my words sit down and reason with me."

Lan explained his philosophy. He always sought the easiest, simplest, and most efficient way to solve problems.

"See, this is why I never wanted to fight you." Netero sighed.

"I never felt any sense of belief in martial arts or devotion to the way of the martial art from you."

"Perhaps you're strong in terms of power, but you're not the kind of opponent who excites me."

Even Meruem, who didn't share these martial values or beliefs, would still fight back with the strongest violence.

However, Lan wasn't like that.

If he truly had to fight someone like Meruem, he would most likely resort to other, even more insidious methods, aiming for maximum efficiency, even if it meant using more underhanded tactics.

To put it bluntly, he is a bit unscrupulous and completes everything with the goal of maximum efficiency, including fighting, which is just one of many events for him.
