Chapter 351: Reunion of the Reckless
"Lily, you okay?" Grace asked, noticing that her face was turning red.
"Huh?" the question seemed to break Lily off her daze, forcing her to stop staring at Roran's naked torso.
"Y-yeah, I just had a little too much to drink," Lily admitted, taking another shot.
Meanwhile, Zack and Eldros had their arms locked into a stalemate, unable to beat one another in the arm-wrestling.
"Gods, is that all you have?" Roran taunted from the side with a bottle in his hand.
"For fuck's sake, shut up!" Zack roared, a vein bulging on his forehead.
Seeing that his attempt to anger him had succeeded, Roran exploded into laughter.
Suddenly, the bar shook slightly, making a bit of dust fall from the ceiling, but no one noticed it. They all were too engaged in their own little world.
But the shaking didn't stop. No, it began to grow—gradually stronger, faster, and more intense.
Grace had moved on from her conversation with Lily, wanting to see if Zack would be able to win against Eldros.
Lily would have gotten there too if not for the fact that a heat began to rise within her. It intensified the moment her eyes landed on Roran's figure, which prompted her to step away, trying to catch her breath.
'We are having such a good time, it's still not time to do it with Roran,' she inwardly reassured herself, deciding to go to the bar's back room to calm her raging desires.
Putting her hand on the door's knob, she opened it.
Her eyes widened as her gaze stopped on Midnight, who returned her gaze, both not saying anything.
The vampire's top was off, showing her full cleavage, her stunning figure sitting atop Zaroth. He looked pale as a ghost, yet his lips were curled into a smile.
'How long have they been going at it?' was the first thought that entered Lily's mind. Due to the chaos in the bar, she wasn't sure when the two left her field of vision.
"...Could you give us a few more minu—hours?" Midnight asked, breathless.
Still slightly stunned, Lily nodded and quietly shut the door.
The moment it clicked shut, the bar shook again—more violently this time.
'I can't hold it in anymore,' she realized.
Meanwhile, Eldros seemed to be gaining the upper hand on Zack. But the second Grace began watching, the two men locked eyes. A silent understanding passed between them.
With a sigh, Eldros relaxed his muscles just a bit, allowing Zack to win.
"You did it!" Grace exclaimed, taking Zack into a hug. Eldros simply chuckled at the sight and proceeded to take a whole bottle and start drinking its contents.
"My turn!" Roran exclaimed, about to have an arm-wrestling match as well. However, he was staggered back as Lily tugged his arm.
"What is it?" he asked, shifting his gaze to her.
The way her face was flushed and breathing heavily told him all he needed to know, prompting for the two to quickly leave the place.
Zack scoffed at the sight, "Look at the two love birds," he pointed towards them, searching for Zaroth, yet failed to find him.
"Hm?" he frowned. 'Where the hell did the birthday boy run off to?'
A more intense shake resounded through the whole bar, making him realize that Midnight was gone as well.
"Ah…" his mouth opened a little in realization.
"I think we're the last ones," Grace said with a mischievous smile, her cheeks tinged with a faint redish blush.
Zack wasn't going to complain, but he felt bad about leaving Eldros alone.
"GO!" Eldros shouted, motioning with the bottle he'd been drinking from.
With a simple nod of impression and making an oath that he was going to return the favor, Zack and Grace left as well.
"Goddamned degenerates!" Eldros muttered, his eyes wandering on another bottle. He knew that they were all friends, but he hadn't been informed that they were all with relationships with one another.
"Ah, the holy man has been left alone once again," he complained, downing the bottle.
After some time, the door leading to the back room of the bar creaked open.
Midnight came out, her skin was basically glowing with vitality, a proud smile on her face.
While Zaroth's skin was as pale as a ghost, wobbling from side to side due to the sheer exhaustion.
With a great effort, he seated himself in one of the chairs, his gaze fixed on the ceiling.
"Still worth it," he spoke, a wide smile appearing on his face.
After a few minutes he realized that the other two couples had left following their example.
With nothing else to do, he, Eldros, and Midnight decided to kill the time by playing cards, waiting for the others to return.
There was no need to note that with Zaroth's state close to collapsing and Eldros being drunk out of his mind, Midnight was the one that won pretty much all the games.
Still, it was the best birthday Zaroth had ever had. No question.

After the birthday party, the citizens of the city were happy to fix the bar once again without complaining. It was an honor to be useful to their saviors! What they had the most trouble with, however, was the room behind the bar. It seemed that there was a large hole in the floor with the imprint of a man. What had gone on over there they didn't dare ask.
Once everyone sobered up and their hangovers faded, they met again—this time with more serious expressions.
The first thing Zaroth asked was who was protecting Drakmire Bastion. If he nor Midnight were there, the city had a high chance to fall.
But Midnight reassured him, saying that she had managed to create many more Wights. They surely were going to hold the front.
'So she really can create an army on her own,' he realized. 'With time... no, she might already be among the top five most powerful people I know. And to think about what the two of us did last night...'
A grin briefly appeared on his face—only for him to force it away. This was a serious situation now. He had to act the part.
"Okay, I get that," Zaroth nodded. "But why are you all here? We're in the middle of a war. If you've all become as strong as you claim, you should be protecting cities. Stopping us from losing more ground."
Zack was the one to answer. "We didn't just come here to reunite with you," he said. "We're following Elysia's plan. She and the council are mobilizing all our forces for defense."
Zaroth's eyes widened, beginning to realize where this was going.
"While we," Roran continued, "are reuniting with you to strike at their heart. We're going for their capital."
A menacing smile crept upon Zaroth's face. He didn't dare attack the enemy's strongest point due to their council members.
But now, with his friends by his side…
"Let's give them hell!" he roared, clenching his palm into a fist.
He might have been smiling, but inwardly he was burning with deep hatred.
'Solara!' he would finally get his revenge,
'I am coming for you!'
