Chapter 30: Chapter 30: No One Understands the Ninja World Better Than Me!
Three months into the Konoha forces' deployment on the Grass Country border, inside a tent, Uchiha Yo's hands glowed with a soft green light of life-energy chakra.
On a scroll in front of him lay a lifeless fish, but under his touch, it suddenly began to wriggle energetically.
"Mystical Palm Technique, finally mastered!"
Yo smiled in satisfaction. Bloodline limit abilities truly were the standard for greatness. Ever since awakening his Sharingan, he found his learning speed and aptitude for jutsu had significantly improved. Mastering this A-rank medical jutsu had been proof of that progress.
Just then, the tent flap opened, revealing a blonde figure with a modest smile—Minato Namikaze, holding a familiar red-covered book in his hand.
"Yo, thank you for this book," Minato said sincerely. Despite Yo being unlike the traditionally aloof Uchihas, Minato could sense that his pride ran deep.
Yo smirked, a rare moment of teasing in his tone.
"Shouldn't I be thanking you? I've made quite a bit in royalties thanks to readers like you."
As he joked, Yo casually crushed the revived fish on the scroll, wiped his hands clean, and fastened his ninja blade to his waist.
"Let's go. If you're here, it's obviously mission time."
On the frontlines, Yo often teamed up with Minato and Kushina Uzumaki for missions. Their chakra attributes complemented each other well, making them an effective squad.
Minato nodded with a cheerful smile, tucking the book into his ninja pouch.
"Yo, this time Jiraiya-sensei is leading the mission."
Hearing this, Yo raised an eyebrow in surprise.
"Jiraiya-sama? This must be an important mission."
Minato laughed lightly.
"Actually, it's just a supply delivery to Orochimaru's forward base."
Though Minato didn't elaborate, Yo understood the unspoken truth.
Orochimaru's leadership on the frontlines, particularly after the tragic death of Tsunade's younger brother Nawaki under his command, left lingering tensions among the Sannin. Jiraiya often acted as the bridge to ease the friction.
"So, it's a delivery run to Orochimaru's post."
Konoha's forces were scattered across multiple outposts in Grass Country. Orochimaru's station was at the forefront, while their base served as the midline support hub. Supply runs like this were routine, though never without risks.
"Yo, when's the next chapter coming out?"
Walking out of the tent, Minato's question was filled with anticipation. Clearly, he had become a genuine fan of My Struggle.
"The next chapter?"
Yo chuckled and replied with a mix of sincerity and mischief.
"Well, as you've read, my story has just reached the Chunin stage. The next installment will come either when I become a Special Jonin or experience something significant."
While Minato praised the book's insights, Yo's hidden smirk spoke of deeper plans.
My Struggle had only just begun, with three chapters published so far. In a world where ten-year-old children were thrown into war, every ninja carried an undercurrent of emptiness and vulnerability.
In this twisted world, the strongest emotional bonds were those forged through camaraderie and shared hardship. Yo's book tapped into that need perfectly.
His masterpiece wasn't just a story; it was a calculated strategy. He was baiting the ninja world with themes of solidarity and mutual trust, all while laying the groundwork for his true ambitions.
"Minato," Yo said with a smile, his voice filled with conviction.
"Ninja life revolves around rules and missions, but remember this: Those who break the rules are scum. But those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum!"
The sunlight cast a heroic glow on Yo's determined expression. Minato was momentarily taken aback, then nodded firmly.
"You're right. That's the essence of the Will of Fire!"
As they approached the command tent, their conversation caught the attention of other waiting shinobi, drawing curious glances.
Inside, Jiraiya chuckled as he overheard them.
"Not bad, not bad. My student's picking up on the good stuff already!"
Unlike Jiraiya's jovial reaction, Tsunade crossed her arms and scoffed.
"Two naive brats talking nonsense."
Yo, stepping inside, kept his head slightly bowed. A subtle smirk formed at the corner of his lips.
Hook, line, and sinker.
By constantly reiterating this mantra, Yo was subtly planting seeds in the minds of these shinobi—most of whom came from noble families. With Sannin like Jiraiya and Tsunade acknowledging the phrase, it would leave a lasting impression on these young leaders of the future.
And when the White Fang Incident happened, well…
Yo's smirk deepened. These shinobi, destined to become clan leaders and village elites, would start questioning the purity of the Third Hokage's administration of the Will of Fire.
No one understood the ninja world better than him!
In this world, the strongest force wasn't the Ōtsutsuki clan or some overpowered genjutsu—it was the power of ideology. And Yo was rewriting the ninja world's narrative to fit his own vision.
Tsunade and Jiraiya addressed the assembled shinobi, detailing the mission.
"This task may seem simple—delivering supplies to Orochimaru's forward base. But don't let your guard down. We'll be crossing a dense forest and a canyon," Tsunade explained, her tone stern.
She pointed to the map laid out on the table.
"Don't underestimate Grass Ninja. The destabilization of Grass Country has created a vacuum for mercenaries, rogue ninjas, and samurai to roam freely. These bounty hunters could strike at any moment."
Yo listened intently, silently admiring Orochimaru's strategic brilliance. The Snake Sannin had positioned himself as both a shield and a spear, ready to defend or strike deep into enemy territory.
"I'm assigning Jiraiya as the lead for this mission. He'll take four Jonin and thirty elite Chunin to ensure success," Tsunade concluded.
"Yes, ma'am!"
The gathered shinobi responded in unison. Jiraiya, donning his combat armor, stood with an uncharacteristically serious expression.
"Ten minutes to prepare. Gather at the main gate. Dismissed!"
As the shinobi dispersed, Tsunade called out to Kushina, her tone softer but no less commanding.
"Kushina, stay for a moment."
The red-haired kunoichi turned back, her face
betraying both curiosity and apprehension as she approached her mentor.
The real lessons were about to begin.
