Two Realms Shuttle Gate: Don't Call Me a Demon!

Chapter 357: Breaching the Kerimu Defense Line_3

'The Siamese Army is just too trashy, getting beaten so badly by the Jieke Group. How were they daring enough to be so provocative before, even making preemptive war declarations? And this is the result?'

'Hey, up there, hasn't the Jieke Group already released evidence? The Siam King was just doing the Beautiful Country's bidding. They even sacrificed their own Old King to find a pretext for war.'

'Haha, what I'm looking forward to the most is whether the Beautiful Country will also enter the war. If they start fighting the Jieke Group, that will be some show to watch.'

....

Online, the onlookers buzzed with discussion, marvelling at the terror of the Jieke Group's Mechanical Army.

Meanwhile, in the royal palace in Manchester, the capital of Siam, a state of panic had already set in with the arrival of the grim news from the Kerimu battle.

The Siam King, Pupeng, thundered at the military conference, holding several generals accountable and lashing out at the Chief of General Staff, Wanyan Ting, for his inaction and for ruining his excellent situation.

After the tirade, he ordered the generals to quickly come up with a plan to stop the Jieke Group from advancing further into the nation's hinterland. Meanwhile, he sought out the Beautiful Country's CIA agents, Shawang and Smith.

Because Pupeng knew that the situation was dire for Siam, and it was unlikely they could cope with the Jieke Group on their own—they needed the support of their "Beautiful Country Daddy."

In a rush, Pupeng headed to a secure room, going through multiple checks and repeatedly assuring there were no eavesdropping or secret filming devices before feeling safe enough to enter.

He had no choice; the evidence that the Jieke Group had leaked made Pupeng realize that he wasn't safe even in his own surroundings.

With the Jieke Group secretly watching him, he had to be careful, not only staying secluded but also continuously raising his security level.

'Send troops?'

Shawang, who had been waiting, shook his head immediately after hearing Pupeng's request.

'Pupeng, it's just not possible for us to send troops directly; our country wouldn't approve it,' he replied.

Shawang rejected Pupeng's request outright, having been authorized by the Beautiful Country and knowing its stance towards this war.

If the Jieke Group were to get bogged down in this war, the Beautiful Country might indeed send troops to kick them when they're down.

But the Beautiful Country itself was shocked by the mecha strength Jieke Group had displayed.

Even though the Beautiful Country's air force was strong, relying solely on the air force wasn't enough to conquer a country. Moreover, it remained uncertain how effective airstrikes would be against Jieke Group's extensive underground facilities; ground troops were necessary to make progress.

Should troops be committed, they would have to confront the Jieke Group's Mechanical Army, and casualties could become difficult to control.

The Beautiful Country wasn't like it used to be, having made too many enemies worldwide. They didn't dare easily deploy ground forces to the Middle East, so how could they dare send troops to fight the even more terrifying Jieke Group, unless there were irreconcilable interests and conflicts of such enormity that the Beautiful Country was willing to risk war over them?

'Why, at this stage, aren't you willing to fight against the Jieke Group? Why won't you come to our aid? Are you just going to watch us get defeated?'

Pupeng's eyes were bloodshot. He had gone to war with the Jieke Group at the behest of the Beautiful Country.

He had provoked as they asked, fought as they commanded. He believed he had done his best. Now that the situation was unfavorable and he needed the Beautiful Country's support, they were unwilling to send troops, standing back and washing their hands of it, which infuriated Pupeng.
