Twins of Tatva

Chapter 29: Dvandva Begins

The skies over Tatva darkened as if the realm itself was holding its breath.

Far from the royal halls and sacred temples, on an ancient battlefield lost to history — two figures stood.

Avantika.

Devsena.

Sisters by blood.

Opposites by fate.

They hadn't seen each other in moons… and yet their souls recognized one another instantly.

The wind grew heavy.

The air thickened with prophecy.

The Dvandva — the destined duel — had begun.

Arjuna stood at the edge of the field, torn between duty and dread.

He had seen the prophecy…

Two elements would rise.

But only one queen could rule Tatva.

Avantika's voice was soft, "This isn't what I want, Devsena."

Devsena's eyes burned. "But it's what fate demands."

Avantika sang softly, and water danced around her.

Devsena raised her blade, and fire roared to life.

Clash.

The earth cracked beneath their powers.

Flames hissed in steam. Water sliced through embers.

Each strike wasn't just power — it was memory, grief, blame.

"You abandoned me!" Devsena screamed.

"I was just a baby," Avantika cried.

The battlefield echoed their pain.

The prophecy awakened — revealing visions to both:

A shattered Tatva.

A crowned sister.

A weeping mother — Vrinda, broken between daughters.

They paused. Breathing hard.

And then… the ground split.

A glowing symbol emerged — a divine sigil combining both water and fire.

The Voice of the Ancients spoke:

"The Dvandva is not of destruction… but of unity."

Devsena staggered. "Unity?"

Arjuna stepped forward now, holding the final piece of the prophecy — a scroll written by Samridhi.

"The sisters are not meant to end each other…"

"They are meant to end the curse."

Avantika reached out her hand.

"Together?" she asked.

Devsena looked at it, trembling.

"Together," she whispered.

They joined hands.

Tatva trembled.

The skies cleared.

And from above — a soft voice rang.

Vrinda.

"My daughters… my flame… my ocean… you've begun what I never could."

And far away, in a hidden cave, Vrinda's old diary burned into light — revealing the final secret:

The true enemy…

Was never each other.
