Chapter 16: Dvandva Sthal: The Island of Mirrors
The boat glided silently across a mist-covered ocean. Avantika sat near the bow, the glowing conch clutched tightly in her hands. Beside her, Devsena held the ancient scroll, its words still burning in her memory. At the helm, Arjuna guided the vessel, following the map only he could read.
No one spoke. The air was thick — with tension, with destiny.
Suddenly, the mist parted.
In front of them rose Dvandva Sthal — a secluded island surrounded by swirling waves and broken reflections in the water, as if reality itself was bending. The trees were silver. The stones shimmered. Time seemed… slower here.
As they stepped ashore, Avantika's conch shell pulsed, guiding her towards a hidden cave. Inside, the walls were mirrors — but none of them reflected what was real. One showed Avantika in fiery armor. Another showed Devsena drowning in an ocean. Some showed them fighting. Others… showed them as children, laughing together.
Devsena touched one mirror — and instantly, her surroundings shifted.
She stood in a vision — a battlefield. She was wielding flames. And across from her… was Avantika, soaked in oceanic energy, her eyes cold.
Devsena's breath caught. Is this the future?
Avantika saw the same vision in another mirror — but from her point of view.
"This isn't a reflection," said a voice behind them.
It was Vrinda.
Or… her spirit.
Vrinda's ghostly figure stepped into the mirror-chamber.
"These are possibilities. The Mirror of Dvandva doesn't show what is, but what might be… if the Tatvas are divided."
Avantika's voice trembled.
"Why were we separated? Why didn't you tell us?"
Vrinda's eyes glistened with sorrow.
"Because even I didn't know which of you would destroy the balance… and which one would save it."
At that moment, a dark tremor shook the island.
The mirrors cracked.
From the shadows emerged a new figure — masked, cloaked in storm, eyes glowing violet.
"Let the Dvandva begin," he hissed.
"The Twins have returned. And with them… the end or the rebirth of Tatva."

The prophecy is awake.
The island has chosen.
The mirrors have spoken
