"How did you make it out alive?" Seojin asked as he pushed away from Valentin's arms. He wasn't dumb; he saw the severity of Valentin's wounds. There was no way someone could have survived the gunshots. How was Valentin treated? Where was he for the past weeks?

"When I woke up, my wounds were miraculously healed," Valentin lied. How could he explain to Seojin that the system saved him?

Not buying Valentin's words, Seojin asked the judge to show him his wounds. Noticing that the kid wouldn't let the matter off, Valentin unbuttoned his black shirt. Shocked, Seojin approached closer, trying to find the wounds or the scars. There wasn't anything. It was as if the bullets didn't go through Valentin's body.

Sensing the hot breath on his chest, Valentin asked Seojin if he had seen enough. Noticing the proximity between them, Seojin retreated backward while coughing awkwardly. Seojin knew that the judge worked out often and had a muscular build. He had the chance to see the judge's hard work for the first time.

"Who are you?" Seojin asked seriously. It was impossible not to have wounds after the gunshots. He was happy that Valentin was alive, but it was weird how he returned weeks later without any injuries.

Valentin buttoned up his shirt again and sighed. He didn't know if he should tell the truth. He noticed that since he came back, Seojin was slightly different. He seemed more mature, and his blue eyes were darker. The aura around him was also scarier as if he had experience with staining his hands in blood.

'What happened to him while I was gone?' Valentin asked the system.

[He has recovered the memories from his past life. The two Seojins from different timelines have merged into one.]

'Shit,' Valentin thought. He didn't expect the male lead to be reborn. From how the kid acted, it didn't seem like he would hurt him. But he should be more careful around him in the future. With his past experiences, Seojin would be more suspicious of other people. He had to earn Seojin's trust and not break it. He decided to tell Seojin the truth about himself.

"In summary, I'm from another world and I transmigrated into your world," Valentin ended his explanation.

"How is that possible?" Seojin had a hard time believing the judge, but it made sense. His system is the key to his transmigration, and it also seems to be helping the judge.

"I guess the world wanted me to help you," Valentin shrugged. He also didn't know why he transmigrated.

For the next few days, Seojin stayed attached to Valentin, afraid that he might disappear again. He has developed a dependence on the judge. If the world truly sent Valentin to help him, it must mean that the future would be bright. He didn't want to reenact the things he did in his past life. In this life, he wanted to keep his hands clean.

Valentin had to get used to the kid's new appearance. It was weird, now that Seojin was a bit taller them him. After the judge was honest with Seojin, they became even closer, breaking the boundaries.

One night, they even slept together on Valentin's bed because Seojin had a nightmare. The kid would hug him tightly and intrude on his personal space. Valentin sighed and tried to push away from the kid's embrace. He has never slept with someone on the same bed before. Not even with his parents. He had to admit that since he met the male lead, he had had a lot of new experiences.

After he transmigrated, Valentin learned to tolerate things that he would never have done in his past life. He was overly kind and accepting towards Seojin. If it were other people, he would've ignored them.

After Valentin rested for a few days, he met up with Winter and Nikolai at the Rose Company to discuss the plan for the mission.

"Our main goal is to destroy the laboratory and the experiment data and to save the children that are being used as test subjects," Winter explained.

In summary, they will ambush the village, and Valentin's role is to stay behind in case the founder of the village comes. The judge was the only one who had a trustworthy status in the eyes of the police. He would be useful if the police were to get involved.

During the entire meeting, Nikolai couldn't stop glancing at Valentin. It was suspicious how the man came out of the accident alive. Nikolai had a feeling that the judge wasn't a normal person. From the way he moved to knock out the robbers, it wasn't something a human would be able to do. It was as if he had superpowers similar to the assassins. But he wasn't an assassin, was he?

Nikolai also wanted to get rid of the village that traumatized his childhood, but Valentin was reluctant to help him.

"Why should I help you? Should I remind you that you killed innocent people, too? How are you different from the people in the village?" Valentin interrogated Nikolai.

Nikolai crossed his legs and kept his head high as if he hadn't done anything wrong. He had to earn money to survive.

"If you help us on this mission, I promise that I won't touch the kid that you are protecting," Nikolai responded. He had no interest in killing the kid if the prize money was gone. Deep down, he knew that it wouldn't be easy to kill the kid. He had a feeling that he would lose a lot if he ever tried.

"Alright, I'll help you guys," Valentin concluded. It was a good bargain. He won't have to worry about Seojin getting murdered by Nikolai.

[Ding! Your next mission has arrived!

Mission: Destroy the assassin's village and save the children!]

Why were the missions getting out of context? Wasn't he supposed to only help the male lead? He felt like the system wanted him to save the world. Valentin sighed and went home early to rest because it would soon get chaotic.
