Transmigrated into a Villainess? I’m Going to conquer the Heroine!

Chapter 45 - Can we choose the same gender?

【Luo Luo’s expression management is destroyed, hahaha!】

【Tang Xiao Yuan, do you know where you are right now? Was that really appropriate?】

【After saying something like that, is it not clear? There’s no chance between them.】

【I’m holding my bowl, and you just knocked it over like that?】

【Jiang Tang fans are thrilled—rejecting ambiguity for Sister Jiang hahaha!】

Deng Pei Luo’s mouth twitched slightly, but he ultimately decided to play dumb.

Tang Yuan had just spoken her mind without much thought, simply repeating some netizens’ remarks on the ‘idol code of conduct’ she’d read online. She hadn’t realized her comment had just shattered the ‘Qin Yan Tales’ official CP fanbase, and she didn’t really care.

Her attention was on the doorway. When a black suitcase rolled in, she looked up to see Jiang Zi entering, wearing a black mask, and her eyes instantly lit up.

She stood, walked over to her, and grabbed the handle of her suitcase. “Sister, you’re finally here!”

“I arrived in the morning. Why are you so late?”

Patting her head with one hand while keeping hold of the suitcase, Jiang Zi said,

“Had some things to take care of, so I came a little late.”

【Tsk, tsk, tsk! Who said the CP we’re shipping is cursed?】

【Tang Xiao Yuan is so clingy with Jiang Zi now; it’s like a whole different person!】

【To Luo Luo: “You shouldn’t date during your career rise.” To herself: “You shouldn’t date, but I totally can, hehe.”】

【Strict with others, lenient with myself.】

Jiang Zi glanced over at the sofa, and Deng Pei Luo stood up just in time. “Sister Jiang, you’re here. Let me carry your suitcase upstairs for you.”

Jiang Zi nodded in greeting but declined his offer. “No need. I can manage.”

Tang Yuan followed her upstairs, giving a little help with the suitcase, though there wasn’t much for her to do.

“Have you had lunch yet, Sister?”

“No, not yet.”

“Don’t tell me you missed breakfast, too?”

“Well, I didn’t have time.”

The two chatted as they went up the stairs, out of sight and earshot of the cameras.

Left alone in the living room, Deng Pei Luo looked rather forlorn.

【It’s painful to watch; I feel for him.】

【He’s not exactly out of place, but… kind of isolated?】

【That’s a poor choice of words, but it does fit Luo Luo’s situation.】

Fortunately, it wasn’t long before more guests arrived one after another, filling the room with lively chatter.

An hour later, lunch was ready, and ten people gathered around a large table.

Of the four regular guests, Jie Xin’s ambiguous partner was Qi Hong Qiao, a once-popular but now lukewarm actor known for his roles in artistic films. His appearance is more rugged, contrasting with the idol-like aura currently trending. The CP between him and Jie Xin on the show had brought him back into the limelight.

Jie Xin, with her cute and somewhat ditzy personality, was eight years younger than Qi Hong Qiao, who has a fatherly, protective air. Their dynamic as a nurturing, “dad-like” boyfriend was a hit with viewers.

Ling Jun’s CP was with Guan Zi’an, from a different background as a former bar singer. He used to sing wild songs and drink the strongest booze, with a soft and harmless “lamb” look.

Ling Jun, on the other hand, is bold and fiery. On their first meeting, she got him tipsy, leaving him completely charmed and disoriented.

This contrast proved irresistible to viewers, ensuring their popularity on the show.

Among the three guest stars, two men and one woman, was Meng Yao’er, who plays a major antagonist in the series, the ultimate mastermind behind the sect’s downfall.

Meng Yao’er has a petite, heart-shaped face, with arched willow brows and bright, enchanting eyes—a classic beauty. “Hello, everyone, I’m Meng Yao’er, the witch who’s always plotting to snatch the junior sister’s spiritual roots.”

As she spoke, she looked toward Jiang Zi, her smile carrying an eerie, villainous vibe. Even without heavy makeup, her expression radiated the perfect evil aura of her role.

Tang Yuan turned to look at her, catching that intense stare directed at Jiang Zi. It didn’t seem like she was acting.

The two male actors were Xiu Luzhou, who plays the “kind” senior brother slain by his junior sister, and An Chuxing, Meng Yao’er’s loyal minion who would even commit suicide on command.

“Hello, everyone. I’m Xiu Luzhou, the ‘kind’ senior brother who’s always thinking about his junior sister.”

“I’m An Chuxing, the witch’s loyal henchman. Nice to meet you all.”

The director had clearly prioritized looks when casting—everyone was stunning.

The director planned to use the show as a promotional strategy, pairing up three couples for some buzz:

Tang Yuan and Deng Pei Luo, Jiang Zi and Xiu Luzhou, Meng Yao’er and An Chuxing.

The “junior sister and senior brother” pairing is especially twisted. Despite being incredibly considerate toward the junior sister initially—giving her anything she wants—the senior brother turns out to be a total psycho, and she ultimately kills him with a single strike. Yet, the internet has a peculiar charm these days; even this bizarre dynamic has fans.

“Alright, after lunch, male and female guests will split up and write down the name of the partner they choose, placing it in the box. If both choose each other, they get to have dinner together.”

“If it’s a one-sided selection, you can try to win them over in person. If they agree, it’s still considered a successful match.”

“And those left out? Tonight, they can’t sleep indoors. They’ll have to stay in outdoor tents—and it’s raining tonight~ So remember, being proactive makes a story happen!”

Just as the director was about to make a graceful exit, a clear female voice stopped him.

“Director, can we choose someone of the same gender?”

Jiang Zi was carefully handling crab meat for Tang Yuan, using a tool to pull the leg meat out and place it in the sauce bowl in front of her. She didn’t even pause as she asked, only lifting her gaze slightly, her eyes reflecting a hint of inquiry.

This question was a first for the show, which had always followed a male-female pairing format. While they’d heard the rumors about Tang Yuan and Jiang Zi, they hadn’t taken them seriously, so they hadn’t considered a plan for it.

The director could only reply, “We’ll need to discuss a suitable arrangement. We’ll inform you once you’re finished with lunch.”

Jiang Zi’s gaze returned to Tang Yuan, and she waved her gloved hand in front of her face, teasing gently, “Your head’s about to dip right into the bowl.”

It was obvious to anyone watching why she’d asked that question.

Tang Yuan almost choked, looking up quickly. Jiang Zi took the opportunity to place a piece of crab meat dipped in sauce into her bowl, softly asking, “What else do you want to eat?”

Seeing the eyes of others on her, Tang Yuan shook her head quickly and whispered, “No need, you should eat too, or the food will get cold.”

“And you didn’t even have breakfast today.” She hesitated, then added, “Have you actually been skipping breakfast every day?”

Jiang Zi leisurely served her a bowl of soup, placing it beside her. “No, I promise—only today.”

They were even clingier than the two official pairs.

The rest of the group felt full just looking at them.
