Chapter 20: Green Snake Gang.
The woman didn't flinch, when the first man reached for her, she took a soft step back, and with a light twirl, her leg snapped at his jaw.
Another more eerie crunching sound rang out, his bones shattered on impact and he was sent flying.
The woman didn't even glance in the body's direction, her eyes still calm like a lake, she faced the other two.
At this point, they were beginning to hesitate, the slim lady just took out two of them with little to no effort at all, they weren't the only ones that were struck dumb.
Alexander huddled closer to the small rock. "How did she take out two Callers in a single minute, and without using any essence?".
Alexander thought he might be able to do the same, but only with his essence and his master protecting him, and it would have definitely taken more than a minute.
"Go". The other guard barked at his companion.
The man flinched, but still charged aggressively at the slim lady, she didn't step back this time, she simply deflected the man's punch.
Grabbed his wrists with the same hand, and stepped to the side, the next moment she raised her leg and smashed his knee in from the side.
A white bone tore through his skin, and stuck out into the open, the man screamed at the top of his lungs, but she wasn't done with him.
She released his wrist and grabbed his head with both hands, and without a second thought, she twisted, reaping his head off his neck.
A shower of blood shot into the air, for a moment, the man resembled a fountain of blood, it was eerily beautiful, but the stark contrast of a pale woman in black holding a head ruined the portrait in Alexander's mind.
The last of the bald men felt his blood run cold, as she glanced his way. He instinctively stepped back, but hurriedly steadied himself to appear strong, but he wasn't fooling anyone.
The man stammered. "Elise, if- If you kill me, the boss of the green snake gang won't let this go, he will hunt for you everywhere in the caves, he will make the guards hostile towards you and he might even make them strengthen your chains".
Elise paused, the man smiled, thinking his threat may have worked, but the next moment, Elise raised a brow.
"Isn't your boss already trying to kill me for refusing to join his merry band of idiots, and he sent you and your idiot friends to hunt me down all the way from the southern caves, and I'm pretty sure all the guards already hate my guts, and as for my chains, well they have no effect on me to begin with".
The man felt a dark shadow consume him, he attempted to run from her, but stumbled to the ground helplessly, the pressure wasn't tangible, but he could feel it from Elsie's very being.
Elise's expression was bland, she simply began to walk towards him as he screamed.
"No, stay back, I'm just a messenger, I can't hurt anyone… No…No".
The man tried negotiating with Elise, but incomprehensible words were the only sound he could make.
The moment she reached him, Elise didn't grant him the mercy of final words, her leg moved like a snake, and the next moment, the man's screams were cut short, his head blown apart like a watermelon.
Large pieces of brain matter spewed to the ground, and his blood stained the glowing rocks crimson.
Alexander felt the hairs on his body stand up straight, this woman was definitely another type of monster, and with his master still trying to break the seal on her soul sea, they will definitely lose in a fight against this freak of nature.
Elise turned, and for a moment, her gaze flicked toward Alexander.
"Are you going to jump out too?" she asked. "Or do you prefer to watch women get harassed."
Alexander slowly stood, there was no point in hiding anymore, and running seemed like a stupid choice to make.
His eyes flickered to the pitch black star on her neck, the star wasn't big nor was it small, it resembled a tattoo and stretched below her shoulder, Alexander couldn't see beyond that.
"No, I'm not with those guys, and I'm not a saint of any kind, so I prefer watching from the side lines. Also, You didn't look like you needed help."
"I didn't," she said, brushing dust from her ragged sleeve.
Alexander stepped closer, but he still didn't slide down the slope, after what he just witnessed. This woman could easily kill him from that type of distance.
"I'm Alex, a slave from the outskirts of the cave, I'm not a threat to you in any way, I came here to search for a warm cave… so how about you let me go".
Elise didn't react to what Alexander said. Instead, Her pitch black eyes scanned him, she smirked lightly.
"Playing the pig to eat the tiger".
Alexander wasn't aware, but to Elise, he resembled a golden ball of essence; she's seen that familiar gold many times, and each time, death stood by, prepared to seize her and her people at a moment's notice.
"Playing what now?". Alexander said skeptically.
Elise smiled lightly, and once more faced Alexander."No worries friend, I have no intention to do you harm, but can you come down from there, I wish to speak to you".
Alexander immediately felt the urge to turn around and flee, but if she followed him, his master would be in danger, and without being able to utilize her own soul sea.
Both of them would die a miserable death.
So Alexander nodded and jumped into the slope, he used the edges to smoothly slide down, and stopped several feet away from Elise.
Elise gave a nod of approval. "I'm Elise Caelis".
Elise didn't say anything else, so Alexander assumed she was waiting for him to introduce himself.
"I'm Alex…". He paused for a moment, then continued."Valeir".
