CHAPTER :22

Chapter 22 – Hunting Blood Ravens

Although it was only the simplest of hunting missions, Lucien had nevertheless prepared for everything and had even brought along the few life-saving cards he had.
After all, in a sense, this wasn’t just Carly’s first battle, it was also his first actual battle.
‘After you come out, try to conceal yourself as much as possible, in addition, this order of not allowing fights to be limited to within the academy and forbidding killing each other as stipulated by the academy, as long as no one reports it, then the academy won’t track it down even if you’re killed by someone ……’
After leaving the academy, Lucien was rushed while talking to Carly about some knowledge.
As Carly listened, the round shield she was holding in her right hand couldn’t help but grip it a little tighter.
While walking, Lucien slowly stopped his steps and slightly lowered his body while making a silent gesture toward Carly.
Carrie also quickly crouched down and looked in the direction that Lucien pointed to, and soon found the target.
Not far away, perched on a tree branch, was a crow the size of an owl.
It had scarlet eyes and a distinct blood-red crown on top of its head.
This was their mission target – the Blood Crow.
Lucien gently waved his hand and pointed at himself, signaling that this first one, he would be the one to demonstrate to Carrie.
Carrie nodded her head while holding her breath, wanting to carefully observe exactly how Lucian carried out effective hunting.
However, Lucien was a little nervous in his heart.
After all, strictly counting, this was also his first actual battle. especially under Carly’s watchful eye, if he were to break his game, it would be a huge loss of face.
Thinking of this, Lucian couldn’t help but narrow his eyes, and after silently going through the process in his mind, he began to quickly construct a sorcery model.
In Lucien’s right hand, a ‘blue churgeon’ appeared, but underneath its calm and beautiful appearance, there was a heat that exceeded ordinary flames.
‘Go.’ Lucien quickly flung his hand, and immediately, under the manipulation of his spiritual power, the unstable Flame Gel formed by the Blaze Art – Change was quickly shot towards the Blood Crow.
‘Gah!’ By the time the Blood Raven realized the danger coming, the projectile had already reached its body.
‘Set.’ Lucien’s eyes blinked gently, and just to make sure, he quietly cast another Level Zero Sorcery to bind the Blood Raven for a moment.
Snort – the seemingly gentle ‘Chuchu Gum’, the moment it came into contact with the Blood Crow, it directly exploded with a bang, instantly turning into blue flames that engulfed the Blood Crow.
Lucien revealed a smile.
However, the next moment he realized that his smile had appeared a little early.
Because under the burning of the blue flames, the body of this Blood Crow was burnt cleanly almost instantly, leaving only some ashes-like burning residue to fall.
As for the beak that served as the mission credentials? At this point, it had long since become ash under the burning blue flames.
The corner of Lucien’s mouth twitched, and his gaze quietly swept at Carly beside him.
Fortunately, at this time, the latter’s expression was still considered normal, and even looking at the blood crow that had been incinerated into ashes, there was still a hint of small worship in her eyes.
‘Ahem, these fifty Blood Ravens are your mission for this practical combat practice.’ Lucien coughed lightly, forcibly hiding his embarrassment. ‘I’m just acting as a demonstration this time, showing you what a rough attack looks like, but the mission credentials and all that are not going to take advantage of you. It’s up to you, got it?’
Carly nodded heavily, Mentor Lucien’s good intentions, she felt it.
[Your student Carly has respect for you, respect value +1]
Lucien turned his head sideways, and he couldn’t help but blush a little as he saw this message prompt pop up from the system panel.
‘Ahem, well, next, you come!’ After gently slapping his cheeks for a moment, Lucien looked toward Carly, signaling that the next Blood Raven, was meant to be her.
‘Mentor Lucien, just watch, I won’t let you down!’ Carly said silently in her heart, with perseverance in her gaze.
Soon, they spotted the second Blood Raven.
This time, Carrie struck out.
She took a deep breath and silently adjusted her sorcery model. After that, a slightly unstable blue colloid appeared in Carly’s hands.
Carly manipulated her spiritual power and pushed it outwards quickly!
Boom–
Perhaps due to some nervousness, Carly’s spiritual power lost control when she pushed the flame gel out less than three meters, and the originally unstable flame gel directly exploded under the stimulation of the spiritual power, although it didn’t cause any substantial damage to Carly, the instantaneous outbreak of high temperature still gave Carrie a not-so-beautiful haircut! Although it did not cause any substantial damage to Carrie, the instantaneous burst of heat still gave her a not-so-beautiful haircut, and her entire body became a bit grey.
Carrie subconsciously looked towards Lucien, and at that moment, the Blood Crow, which had been startled, had already flapped its wings and flew up towards Carly’s side.
Its pair of sharp claws seemed to be reflecting a metallic luster, if it were to be caught solidly, it would at least end up with a split skin!
‘Raise your shield!’ Lucien roared.
It was only then that Carly remembered with some hindsight that she was still fighting, and she hurriedly raised the round shield that Lucien had forced on her earlier.
In the next moment, only a local sound could be heard, and Carly felt her shield sink, apparently the shield had helped her block an attack from the Blood Raven.
With a sigh of relief, Carly prepared to build the sorcery model again to cast the spell.
‘Ya-’ However, at this time, the Blood Raven that failed to attack once was letting out a sharp chirp.
The sound carried an eerie penetrating power that seemed to be echoing directly in Lucian and Carrie’s minds.
Pfft – a little nosebleed came out of Carly’s nose, the sorcery model that she had just started to build completely collapsed, and even her mental power suffered a slight backlash, at least until she adjusted to it, she was no longer able to cast sorcery.
The interference caused by the Blood Raven to Lucien was much smaller. After all, his spiritual power was much more condensed and had already solidified 82 spiritual runes, and his spiritual sea was incredibly stable.
The interference that this Blood Crow caused to him was almost negligible.
Lucien waved his hand and Flame Gum flew out towards the Blood Crow flying in mid-air.
This time, Lucien didn’t use any other sorcery for coordination, and even the power of the Blazing Flame Technique-Correction was cut down quite a bit under his control.
‘Gah!’ The Blood Raven drew a graceful curve in mid-air and was about to avoid the Flame Gum thrown by Lucian.
‘Explode!’ Lucien, however, moved his mind and took the initiative to use his spiritual power to detonate the Flame Gel that was not far from the Blood Crow.
The explosion caused a ball of fire to appear in mid-air, and half of the Blood Crow’s body was also swept up by the flames, at this point, it could no longer maintain its flying posture, falling from mid-air in a crooked manner.
