There is something wrong with Hikigaya’s classroom of the Elite, as expected

Chapter 90

Chapter 90: I’ve Already Forgiven Them.

May 28th, Friday, 7:55 AM, South side of the first floor of the teaching building.

A boy with dead fish eyes full of DHA yawned while sluggishly walking toward his destination.

“Hey! Hachiman, you’re so slow!”

Ishizaki, who had been waiting for a long time, couldn’t hold back his anger when he saw Hachiman. As the agreed-upon time ticked down, they had been waiting anxiously, afraid that Hachiman wouldn’t show up, yet here he was, appearing as though he had just woken up and strolling in leisurely.

Does he know that we didn’t sleep at all last night?! Damn it!

“What’s the rush? There are still 5 minutes left, right?”

Hachiman was sluggish and looked entirely different from the one Ishizaki had seen last night.

Hachiman hadn’t slept well the night before, but not because of Ryuen and the others. Instead, it was due to another embarrassing and frustrating event, something he still couldn’t understand even now—why he had such a strange dream.

“Damn it, Hachiman! The contract signatures are all done, don’t try anything funny or you’re dead meat!”

At that moment, Ryuen, who looked much more haggard than before, walked out. His forehead was wrapped in a bandage, but his eyes remained sharp and menacing.

“I’ve heard that from you a hundred times. Can’t you come up with something new?”

Hachiman, ignoring Ryuen’s intimidating presence, lazily replied, “The dog that bites doesn’t bark. I’m sure you remember that, right?”

Ryuen snorted, but didn’t respond. He seemed to understand that no matter what he said, it was just the words of a “defeated, homeless dog.”

Hachiman took the contract from Ishizaki and quickly skimmed through it. The signatures of all 40 students from Class C were clearly visible. To get all 40 students to sign the contract in just one night was impressive, proving that Ryuen truly was the “tyrant” of Class C. It made Hachiman wonder whether he had convinced them with his words or his fists.

After double-checking and confirming there were no issues, Hachiman, along with Ryuen and the others, headed to the teacher’s office. Contracts signed between students or classes only held legal validity and binding force when witnessed by a school teacher; otherwise, they were not recognized.

The student handbooks distributed at the start of the school year clearly stated all the rules in detail. Seeing this, Ryuen clicked his tongue in irritation. Hachiman shook his head; Ryuen was always scheming and trying to pull tricks.

After knocking and entering, Hachiman discovered that only Chabashira-sensei and Class B’s homeroom teacher, Hoshinomiya Chie, were present. If possible, he didn’t want Chabashira-sensei to focus on him—he had a premonition that getting involved with her would be an incredibly unlucky affair.

As a student from Class D, Hachiman couldn’t exactly go to another class’s teacher in front of his own homeroom teacher, could he?

That would be like slapping his own teacher in the face. It would even give the impression that his own student was overshadowed by another class’s superior teacher!

This would surely end badly for him. Hachiman was 100% sure of that!

Well… the reality was that once Hachiman and Ryuen entered the office, Chabashira-sensei’s eyes were fixed on him, never leaving.

So, Hachiman had no choice but to step forward, nervously present the contract to Chabashira-sensei, and explain the situation.

Chabashira-sensei looked at the seemingly “insignificant” student in front of her and the others beside him, then lowered her gaze and examined the contract in her hands once more. After a moment of silence, she spoke: “Hachiman, what you’re saying is that the students from Class C used violence against you, and now they deeply regret it and feel guilty, which is why they signed this contract as compensation. Is that right?”

Chabashira-sensei’s expression nearly screamed, “Are you kidding me?” Hachiman couldn’t shake the feeling that Hoshinomiya’s gaze from a distance seemed unusually focused on the situation as well.

Hachiman nodded expressionlessly. “Yes, that’s correct. I’ve forgiven them. If you don’t believe me, you can ask the students from Class C.”

Upon hearing this, Ishizaki, Ibuki, and others behind Ryuen widened their eyes, and there was an urge to rush forward and beat Hachiman senseless.

Chabashira-sensei turned her gaze toward Ryuen and his group, but Ryuen snorted and ignored her. Albert and Ibuki remained silent, but eventually, Ishizaki reluctantly stepped forward and confirmed Hachiman’s statement.

“Well, since both parties are consenting, as a teacher, I have no reason to intervene.”

Under Chabashira-sensei’s notarial confirmation, the contract between Hachiman and Class C became official. Ishizaki, Ibuki, and others all sighed in relief. Ryuen shot a cold glare at Hachiman and left the office after giving him a “just you wait, I’ll be back” look.

“Ah, you must be Hachiman from Class D, right? You’re really impressive.”

Just as Hachiman was about to leave the office, a cute teacher with brown hair stopped him—Hoshinomiya Chie, the homeroom teacher of Class B.

“Hoshinomiya-sensei, is there something you need?”

Hachiman responded politely.

Hoshinomiya-sensei seemed quite popular among the students. Not only was she attractive with a good figure, but her gentle and friendly personality made her easily approachable. She was often seen mingling with the students from Class B. In contrast, Chabashira-sensei, though also a homeroom teacher in the same grade, was the complete opposite, and many students from Class D had often complained about this.

This was Hachiman’s first interaction with Hoshinomiya-sensei, but even in this brief encounter, he felt a chill run down his spine. Something about her gave off a dangerous warning vibe. Although her smile seemed warm and casual, there was an underlying sense of something ominous, an almost imperceptible shadow that only Hachiman could sense.

What’s going on with the teachers at this school?

Birds of a feather flock together, right? So, is there not a single normal teacher here like Teacher Shizuka? Wait… even Shizuka’s punches aren’t much better!

Hoshinomiya gave off a vibe similar to that of an adult version of Kushida—evolved to the next level!

“Hey, Hoshinomiya-sensei, that’s one of our students. Please remember your position!”

At that moment, Chabashira-sensei’s usual cold voice interjected, her eyes glaring at Hoshinomiya-sensei.

Uh… in comparison, Hachiman suddenly felt that Chabashira-sensei was a little more understandable and even more pleasant to look at. She practically wrote everything on her face.

“Sae-chan, I’m just concerned about the student’s physical health. And aren’t we close friends? You used to call me Chie, didn’t you? Why the formal ‘Hoshinomiya-sensei’ now?”

Hachiman thought he saw a few veins popping up on Chabashira-sensei’s forehead.

“Chie! Don’t talk about that nonsense in front of the students. You still need to prepare for the midterm exams. Don’t interfere with the students’ performance.”

Chabashira-sensei scolded her sternly.

Why does this feel like a mother hen protecting her chicks?

Hachiman also noticed that Chabashira-sensei seemed to be quite opposed to Hoshinomiya-sensei. Judging by their conversation, it seemed like they had a relationship that was deeper than just colleagues, but their attitudes toward each other were odd.

“Sae-chan, I really envy your class. With Ayanokouji before, and now Hachiman, you sure seem to have a restless class.”

Hoshinomiya-sensei didn’t seem to mind Chabashira-sensei’s attitude and instead wore a look of subtle grievance.

Hoshinomiya-sensei walked around behind Hachiman and placed her hands on his shoulders. Hachiman froze, confused about what she was trying to do.

“Sae-chan, are you trying to raise in rank?”

Suddenly, Hoshinomiya-sensei’s voice came from behind Hachiman. Though he couldn’t see her expression, there was a palpable sense of tension in the air, like an invisible collision of forces.

Raise in rank? What does that mean? Did I just overhear something I wasn’t supposed to? Is this some kind of secret?

“Stop talking nonsense. That’s obviously not possible.”

Chabashira-sensei answered expressionlessly, but did she really feel that way inside?

“Hehe, it seems like Sae-chan really can’t do that, huh~”

Hoshinomiya-sensei seemed to be implying something.

“Hachiman, the exam is about to start. Hurry up and get back to the classroom!”

Chabashira-sensei suddenly turned and sternly ordered.

“Then, Hoshinomiya-sensei, Chabashira-sensei, I’ll go back and prepare for the exam now. Goodbye.”

Hachiman instantly understood the situation and didn’t dare linger. He quickly left the office without looking back.
