The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system

Chapter 267: A natural right

It took Caishen quite a while to compose the right response. In truth, he was conflicted about her emotional attachment to her father. If he had been treated in such a manner by his father, if he were in her shoes, he would have cut ties a very long time ago.

It was better for one to live alone that to live with vultures. All that he had read and witnessed for himself regarding the Lin family did not speak to a healthy mindset for anyone that lived there.

On the other hand, how could he judge her for wanting to be loved by her father. It was a natural instinct to seek the love of one's parents.

His grandparents were another example of blind love for family. They had rushed to accept his father and all the excess baggage that he had come with.

Alix in the mean time came to the conclusion that his silence meant that he indeed thought she was stupid.

"I will go and take a bath. Forget what I just said. It's stupid indeed."

She stood up and walked past him but he grabbed her hand before she could walk away.

Alix was feeling rather awkward and foolish. She couldn't face him because she didn't want to see the judgement on his face. She had seen that look on Holea's face a few times and she didn't need to see it on Caishen's.

It wasn't as if she still had that same dream anyway. She had given up on that hopelessness already.

"Look at me." he said in a soft but somewhat deep voice that carried an order.

His voice was a little too powerful that Alix's heart went into atrial fibrillation but she didn't look down at him.

Caishen sighed at her stubbornness and he moved his wheelchair, parking it in front of her. In moments like this, it frustrated him that his legs were incapable of working. It would be much easy to get her to look at him if he could reach for her head easily and make her look at him.

He decided to call her by something else, a name she wouldn't resist. "Hey, sister hulk."

She looked down as soon as he called her that, and bared her teeth at him. In addition, she hissed a warning.

"See, i got you to look at me."

"You cheated." She rolled her eyes.

He shrugged. It didn't matter if her rigged the game, what mattered was that he got results.

"I am going to make it clear right now that I am not judging you for wanting your father's love. He is your father after all and he should have loved you. I was just comparing your situation to that of my grandparents," he tilted his head and said, "My family really. Take me for example, I have been looking for all possible ways to get my parents back together even though my father still doesn't remember my mother and he has another wife. If you think about it, I am just as stupid as you are."

She heard a sad note in his voice that prompted her to sit down and meet him eye to eye at the same level, so she parked her buttocks on the bed.

"How is that going, by the way? Your mother was all business today, she didn't look like a woman with marital troubles at home."

"She is moving out of the main house. But, I don't want to discuss it. I still think that you are exhausted and need to rest. So, go and take that bath, then I can have mine and join yo for dinner."

He pushed his wheelchair out of the way and nodded his head in the direction of the bathroom. Alix stood up without delay and she walked away. She was tired, he was right and she was anxious to get into the gaming world. The others had to be getting miles ahead of her.

Unlike Alix that enjoyed a goodnight, Lin Billi was having a rough one. She had paid good money to have Alix slandered online. People were supposed to be trashing her performance online.

That trend of piano lady was supposed to be accompanied by words like sucked, horrible, disgusting, amateur, disappointment and not words like great, beautiful and surprisingly wonderful.

Alix trending under little superwoman was not something that threatened her but Alix trending as a talented piano player was a threat, a deadly threat to her career. How long would it take until people started to question why she had started playing the piano late? It would not be long for stories to spread about how she was suppressed in the family.

Someone might even dig up the fact that Alix's spot on that tv show was stolen by her a long time ago. This black history would be an impediment to the further growth of her career.

With all these troubling thoughts in her mind, Billi had been on phone since the concert ended, yelling and cursing at those she hired to trash Alix online.

She had not even returned home because there was no doubt her father would be making comparisons and praising Alix's usefulness or talking about his bastard son. So, to avoid that annoyance, she had her manager drop her off at a hotel.

At the moment, she was refilling her glass of wine, while listening to someone give her an explanation on the other end of the phone. There was great angst on her face.

"Someone is blocking the hashtags we try to start and our accounts are being blocked too. You understand the PR of your company better. Why didn't you tell us that it has become better? I don't think that we can continue this job."

She snarled angrily and pushed the wine glass away. It fell onto the white rug in the suite and stained it with red.

"I am paying you good money to do the job. So, why can't you just do your job right? If you couldn't do it then you should have recommended somebody better."

An angry voice on the other end of the phone answered, "Lin Billi, we have worked together many times before. Have I ever failed you? You should look into whatever expert light entertainment hired for the job and send me the information on that person. I could use an expert like that on my team."

Lin Billi scoffed and she hung up. "Stupid useless fool."

She looked at the contact list in her phone and decided to find someone else to do a different kind of job. Then, she dialed a number and waited a few seconds until someone answered. It was a sleazy private detective, more of a thug really that would do anything as you paid enough.

"Ho! if it isn't the sexiest number one genius classic pianist of our country. To what do I owe this honor?" he said.

Even listening to his voice irked Billi but she was desperate so she softened her voice and made it sensual.

"Darling can you find someone that can cut off the hands of a person for me? I don't mean breaking, that's too simple. I want them cut off."

On the opposite end of the call, a man smiled. "I have people for everything but a job like that will take time. I have to find the right person with a stomach for blood. Why do that though when we can cause an accident that can end your little problem completely?"
