The World's most Overpowered Side-Character

Chapter 437: The Goddess Of The End.

"After a month in the vast, we have finally arrived at your detour, Master," Alpha greeted Sol as soon as he opened his eyes, on his left was Arla and on his right Dina, while Ikaris had returned to the Sol Collective to spend time with Talia who was under Sara and Surprisingly Dr'ul's care.

"Make sure to do a proper scan of the area and leave points of interest so I don't have to travel like this again." Sol raised himself, waking both women on his sides in the process.

"Are we finally here?" Dina sat up next, rubbing her eyes and yawning.

"Yes, Lady Levina, we are right on the outskirts of the docile universe: F13-Proxima, home of the utopian world, Uon, which Master has taken an interest in." Alpha answered, retreating several steps backward while Sol stepped off the bed and then returning to him with a smile. "From here I have found the general cluster they reside within, but..."

"What?" Sol raised his brow in query. "Out with it."

"The world of Uon is seeing an increased level of tremors and hive-like activity reminiscent of a massive global war."

"Global war?" Arla rolled across the bed leaning onto Sol's back and raising her head with a groan. "I thought they were a peaceful people."

"Something must have happened to cause this," Sol hummed. "Giza and Umbra were nearby, they might have... no, I'm almost sure, this is right up that Woman's alley." He stood and took a deep breath. "And here I was ready to have breakfast in the perfect world."

"Is there a need to still go there?" Dina asked. "Makka is just a few units away, we can just leave them be if they're like that, right?" She asked, stretching and rising again. "I will take a shower first."

"I will join," Arla quickly sprung to her feet running past Dina and toward the bathroom."

"Oi are you sick again?" Dina ran in after her before the sliding doors closed.

[Master, Arla is-]

"I'm waiting for her to tell the others, Alpha," Sol shook his head. "I'm sure Ikaris already knows, but it seems Dina and everyone else is a bit slow this time, nothing to do but wait, she's already two months in so she's gonna start showing soon regardless."

[I see,] The maid-laden System nodded, looking at the door with what Sol could clearly interperet as a small smile. [I will not interfere then.]

Moments later, when everyone was refreshed and ready, with Ikaris and Usami returning from the Sol Collective the group of them approached Uon.

"Even at this distance I can feel it," Ikaris stood at the front of their vessel staring down on the scarred planet. "Giza's disgusting presence still lingers across the surface."

"These poor people, what did she do to cause this much resentment to arise from a peaceful world?" Arla asked shaking her head. "At this point they feel no better than the deviant demons."

"These poor people have been greatly wronged, the Dark Emissary seems to have trampled across their beliefs and desecrated their innocence by killing the most worthy inhabitant, her actions caused ripples to form and millions of years of progress has been undone in just a month's time." Alpha responded to them.

"What the heck, you got all that from just looking at them?" Usami asked, whistling in disbelief.

"No, I scanned their databanks, they store everything digitally." The System replied leaving the Spear Hero more speechless.

"I'm going down, you don't need to come if you've lost interest," Sol walked forward, willing his body to become intangible and passing through the ship into the void before them.

"I can feel his anger," Usami muttered. "It's been a while since I saw Sol this upset." She added.

"Well, his hopes were crushed and his expectations ruined by the same person he intends to stop from doing this exact thing, Giza might have left them alive, but she has taken life itself from them, I sense a collective mind below, everyone is feeding off the hate of everyone else, it is an endless cycle of darkness growing ever-stronger." Ikaris sighed and held out her hand to Usami. "Come on, all of us are going."

On the surface, war had ravaged the world to such an extent that any attempt of cleanup was left incomplete, piles of corpses littered every street- fresh and rotting alike, entire cities laid in ruin and flames, the green scenery from a month prior was nothing but a memory in the face of desolation and disaster.

Smoke choked the skies, death war and famine remained the only persistent presences wherever one might have considered going.

"Please sir, do you have an extra to spare?" A small girl asked a man she had discovered eating a piece of dirty bread in the back of a torn down store.

"An extra of what you little parasite?" He quickly retorted, shoving the rest into his mouth and chewing it wildly. "Get lost, stop trying to pry into my mind!"

"Please!" The girl drew closer, her tiny antennae flicked repeatedly as she tried relaying her thoughts and feelings to him, but much like most of the other adults he had cut his antennae off to prevent others from finding and potentially plundering them, they could only verbally communicate.

"I said no, stay away or I'll make sure you stop breathing!"

"I just need a small piece, please," Veins bulged across her temples while her antennae stiffened as she gave her all to reaching his mind, succeeding for a fraction of a second before his heel slammed into her forehead and she went rolling across the debris.

"Y-you asked for it!" He snapped taking a small homemade knife from his sleeve and pointing it at her. "Get lost and never return!"

"He has food in the back, hidden," Another child came around the corner holding a knife, and then several more after the second. "We can eat after days, finally!"

"No, stay away from me you little-"

"We kill the adult and we can share the food, right?" The girl that had been kicked rolled to her hands and knees wiping the blood from her forehead.

"Yeah, it is their fault that the world is like this, the least they can do is die off so we can live peacefully again," A little boy, seemingly their leader came in last. "Kill him, if the food isn't enough we can use him too."

"N-no, help, someone!" The man began waving his knife while he was slowly approached by over a dozen weapon-wielding pre-teens.

The fraction of a second after he was pinned and about to be stabbed, the skies above them thundered and broke revealing the first ray of sunlight in weeks before Sol crashed to the surface just outside of the store causing all of them to stop, after him Ikaris and Usami arrived, and then Arla with her teleportation while dina arrived last with sheer speed.

Wearing their armour as opposed to regular clothing the group looked regal, they had an atmosphere to them that nobody had ever seen before, their presence felt like judgement had come to the sinners, this was especially with Sol who did not waste a moment before he started walking to the scene he had caught in the happening.

"Alpha, as soon as you've assimilated with this world, remove their capabilities to harm each other," He ordered her. "Do it in a way that does not harm a single one of them."

"Are you-"

"Silence," Ikaris spoke next, and the leader of the cannibal kids bit his lip, lowering his head and falling to his knees. "I have never seen this before, even on Atla, the people never resorted to eating each other," She held her mouth in disbelief, shaking her head. "Dear, they may all be too far-gone to save."

"I agree, Master," Dina covered her nose with a small handkerchief to prevent the stench of rot and burnt flesh from invading her nostrils.

"I disagree though," Sol shook his head, bending down before the little girl that had escalated the scenario he had witnessed in his approach and extending his hand to her. Without missing a beat, she grabbed his arm and tried biting into the flesh he had willingly extended, but found his skin soft and unwilling to break no matter how hard she tried. "It must have been so hard for you, little one."

"Oh gods," Arla turned her head unable to look at the other kids, bringing up her breakfast before her sobs turned into tears. "This is too much, I will return first." She rested her hand on her abdomen and vanished.

"What will you do?" Ikaris asked, staring at Sol's back while he slowly ran his hand through the child's dirty hair.

"I can't even comprehend how the world could have escalated to this degree in just a month-"

"It's been three months for them, the rotation of their world and the speed of their star is fast, even in their own universe it exceeds the others." Alpha corrected Dina.

"A month or three, it's still way too soon, isn't it?" Usami raised the topic again, watching as Sol picked up the child as if she were his own and held his hand before her, conjuring a freshly baked piece of bread from his Collective with a sad smile and jolting when she snatched it and began tearing into the steamy insides.

"They have never seen strife before, those in a higher power than others took control of all of the food as soon as the first weapon was created."

"Their society collapsed within a month of Giza's departure."

"The Dark Harbinger..." The little girl muttered while listening to them, recognising the name Giza. "The Goddess of the End."
