The World's most Overpowered Side-Character

Chapter 412: Ikaris Vs Dina.

"Would master agree with this?" Yu asked, watching Ikaris and Dina in a large open field with their palms pressed against each other's as they slowly walked in a circle.

"Agree?" Jena looked up at the woman with a chuckle. "Master Vestic is a warmonger, whether he likes to admit it or not, he loves to fight and he enjoys seeing a good fight, he and the Goddess of war are like siblings in that regard."

"Then where is he?" Fuhua inserted herself into the conversation.

"Busy, Master Vestic is busy," Alpha answered.

[Challenge issued between Ikaris Vestic and Dina Levina, there are no rules, all attacks and techniques on the table I trust that you two have the sense to refrain frol killing each other].

"Thanks, Alpha," Dina chuckled, not breaking eye contact with Ikaris who had not said a word since they both started circling each other. "Ikaris?"

"I am ready whenever you are, I know better than to allow you the first attack even if I am a little stronger-"

"A little?" Dina almost broke into laughter. "You know I don't like flattery, especially false flattery,"

[Then,] The system interrupted their banter. [On my mark, you will both begin].

"Sounds good to me," Ikaris smirked while her and Dina stopped moving and fell into different fighting stances.

[Ready...]

[Clockwork/Origin Explosions/Retribution, ready to cast].

[Godspeed/Forced Sun/Pulsar, ready to deploy].

"Oh dear, I can sense the casts from here before even seeing them," Sara held on to Talia's hand while Jena created a barrier between the fight and everyone.

"These attacks do not feel particularly powerful though..." Xie scrunched his nose.

"They only recreated New Atla recently, they are holding themselves back to enjoy a fight as best friends," Jena had a trickle of sweat rolling off her chin. "However, Neither Dina or Milady like to lose, they started out as rivals and have only grown closer through mutual love for Master, as the fight progresses they will start doing irreparable damage to the environment, this world might just collapse."

"That does not sound like they will be holding themselves back by any degree-"

Yu's ststement was interrupted when an explosion erupted from the first clash and tore the entire field asunder, it happened so fast that not even she had reacted in time.

"Whoa!" Xie exclaimed excitedly, clenching his fists and staring with intrigue as he saw Dina and Ikaris clash fists again, neither of them losing ground as they countered each other's fist blow for blow.

"I thougth she was weaker than I was!" Yu furrowed her brows in disbelief. "Those punches seem so casual!"

"Those are casual punches!" Sara responded, shouting over the howling winds while Talia who had leapt into her arms after getting startled from the initial clash stared intently.

"What?" Grecia asked next, unable to believe what the maid was saying. "Is she not a Mage?"

"Dina adapted Master's figthting style after idolising him for such a long time, she has yet to use any casts, they are preparing!" Sara huffed with a pout. "They have only begun, but at this rate, Atla will be destroyed again!"

"Come on!" Ikaris grinned, blocking Dina's punches with her own and slightly leaning forward, while the latter grit her teeth, slightly getting pushed back from the force of their collisions.

"It is clear that Milady is far superior in hand to hand combat," Xie frowned, though the amusement never left his eyes. "Why would a distance fighter subject themself to this on purpose?"

"To make a point." Alpha watched the fight intently. "All of you, I will retreat to a farther distance and acces the windows to view the fight, otherwise they will barely progress past this point.

"We're hundreds of metres away, are you saying this is not far enough?" Fuhua asked shocked.

"That is right, you are looking at beings who usually destroy entire worlds and system swhen they fight, galaxies and for Milady, universes, they are bothered by the proximity," Alpha slowly panned her view, stopping on Talia and smiling. "The marriers might give out if they get too excited, someone could get hurt."

"Off we go then!" Jena relaxed, watching Alpha take control of the barrier with one hand and then flex her fingers, instantly transporting them away from the site.

"Alright!" Dina glanced quickly to the side and then caught Ikaris's next punch, smiling at the Goddess' shocked expression at the ease she'd captured her attack with.

"Oho?" Ikaris raised her other hand when the kickback of the attack caused another crater inside the one they were already inside of. "Taking this seriously now?"

"Of course I am!" Dine exclaimed, pulling Ikaris into her hand and Wincing when Their palms clashed.

[Pulsar]

"Hnn!" Dina released Ikaris's hand and leapt backwards when the latter's palm began glowing with cosmic elements.

[Retribution]

Dina aimed one hand to the sky and pointed the other at Ikaris, landing on her feet and digging her heel into the ground when Ikaris's [Pulsar] was suddenly unleashed, getting a counter-challemge from her [Retribution which managed to reach her and get channeled just in time.

Both of them winced when the contrasting Chaos and Cosmic powers clashed into each other, sinking the crater into a basin of water beneath them and then evaporating everything a second later, leaving a burning hole in the ground with the two of them barely hovering about the red rock.

"That's..." Stared at their surrounding, if retribution hadn't eaten most of Ikaris's [Pulsar], then the entire surface behind her could have potentially been erased. "You crazy bitch..."

"Huh?" Ikaris leaned her head, chuckling. "Come on Dina, I know what you can and cannot handle, let's keep going until we've exhausted ourselves!" She grinned excitedly and held her hand to the side, summoning a shortsword made of light while Dina shook away her stupor and conjured a dense [Mana Spear] to counter.

"Yeah, I must have gotten dull after months of inactivity!" Dina smiled, resting one foot on the ground while Ikaris did the same.

"That stance!" Fuhua stared at Dina's leg.

"Indeed," Jena nodded. "Master devised this technique after trial and error, and when he and the ladies became one, e shared it along with many of his original techniques with them.

"I do not recognise it," Xie mumbled. "It is not in the codex of abilities we can learn."

"It's reserved for his immediate family, and now, his disciple." Alpha responded, watching the steam rise off Dina's hair while her eyes shone brightly.

Similarly, Ikaris released a breath to calm her excitement, also pulling on more power after seeing Dina's focus.
