The World of Naruto in the Eyes of Reincarnation

Chapter 78: Chapter 78

No matter the issue, if it involved the Uchiha or the Sharingan, there was no room for carelessness.

The Uchiha clan possessed far too many bizarre and powerful forbidden jutsu within their Sharingan, like Izanagi and Izanami. Without knowing the full details, it was nearly impossible to guard against them.

Now that Danzo had transplanted both the First Hokage's cells and a large number of Sharingan, it was very likely he had also gained access to some of the Uchiha's forbidden techniques.

Engaging Danzo head-on at this time would be far too risky.

Orochimaru was the perfect example. Despite being a Kage-level powerhouse, he was twice easily handled by Itachi's Sharingan. The lessons from those encounters were a sharp warning to Hyuga Kagami.

Back at home, Hyuga Kagami calmed his mind and resumed studying the Four Symbols Seal.

Increasing his own strength remained his top priority. All his other plans existed to serve that singular goal. He had always been clear about his priorities.

At the moment, he had technically already learned the Four Symbols Seal. But this "learned" meant he could barely use it. As for fully understanding its mechanics or unlocking deeper layers of power, he was far from that. So he continued his in-depth study.

The Four Symbols Seal was a door—a gateway into the vast vault of Uzumaki sealing techniques.

Mastering those techniques would allow him to undo the Fourth Hokage's seal on the Dragon Vein, completing the most critical step in his artificial Tailed Beast plan.

After some study, he recorded his findings carefully.

As he reviewed his notes, he thought to himself, "With the merit Eleven Squad just earned, exchanging it for another sealing technique shouldn't be a problem."

He estimated that in about a week, he could master the Four Symbols Seal completely.

Once that was done, if he could learn one or two more of the Uzumaki clan's techniques, he was confident that his Tenseigan would help him unlock the secrets behind their entire sealing system.

And with what Eleven Squad had just accomplished, he figured it was more than enough to qualify for one more technique.

The next morning, Hyuga Kagami left his home.

Along the way, he overheard villagers passionately debating the village's peace talks with the Hidden Cloud.

There was no doubt that the ninja were enraged over the Hidden Cloud's surprise attack. Hundreds of Konoha shinobi had died in the conflict, and nearly every major clan had suffered losses. Many ninja were bitter about the peace negotiations.

Most could understand the Third Hokage's reasons for agreeing to talks. But still—after being sucker-punched, then forced to shake hands? As members of the most powerful ninja village, it left a sour taste.

Hyuga Kagami, however, felt little emotion about it.

Konoha was no longer the powerhouse it had been in the First Hokage's era. In the ninja world, without power, even the greatest humiliation had to be swallowed in silence.

And this was only the beginning. Konoha's troubles were just getting started.

Once he arrived at the agreed-upon location, Hyuga Kagami waited quietly.

Before long, a figure landed in front of him—Uchiha Shisui, who he'd arranged to meet.

Shisui looked apologetic. "Sorry to keep you waiting, senpai!"

"No worries, I just got here myself," Kagami said with a wave. "I called you here because I have something important to tell you."

"What is it?"

Kagami activated his Byakugan and scanned the area. Once he confirmed they were alone, he whispered, "Yesterday I met Danzo—and I discovered one of his secrets."

Shisui's eyes widened. "Wait, you met Danzo too?!"

Kagami frowned. He had a bad feeling. "You saw him yesterday as well?"

Shisui nodded. "Yeah. He invited me to join Root. I refused. Did he invite you too?"

Kagami asked urgently, "You didn't tell him about your Mangekyo Sharingan, did you?"

Shisui nodded again. "We talked about the tensions between the Uchiha and the village. To gain their trust, I confessed to both Danzo and the Third Hokage about my Mangekyo. I also promised to stop any extreme actions from our clan."

Kagami's face darkened. "Foolish."

Shisui blinked. "What do you mean?"

"Do you know what I was going to tell you today?" Kagami said, then continued, "Yesterday I used my Byakugan to observe Danzo. He's already transplanted Hashirama's cells and an entire arm full of Sharingan. His body is completely transformed!"

"What?!"

Shisui stood frozen in shock.

Kagami gave him a sharp look. "That old man's been coveting the Sharingan for ages. And you just told him you awakened the Mangekyo? You handed yourself to the wolf!"

Kagami's plan had been to reveal Danzo's ambitions to Shisui and convince him to use Kotoamatsukami on Danzo, removing the threat permanently.

But Danzo had moved too fast. He approached both of them yesterday. What Kagami hadn't expected was that Shisui had revealed everything so quickly.

Of course, Kagami didn't know that Shisui had been rattled during the Uchiha clan meeting the previous day, where some members had openly pushed for a coup. That pushed Shisui to confide in the village leadership.

After a long silence, Shisui murmured, "Senpai… did I make a mistake?"

Kagami asked, "Your Mangekyo can do more than just Susanoo, right?"

Shisui answered without hesitation, "Yes. It can use a genjutsu called Kotoamatsukami. It can alter a person's will without them realizing it."

"You told Danzo and the Third about that too?"

Shisui nodded. "Yes. I planned to use Kotoamatsukami to stop the clan's rebellion, so I didn't hide it."

Kagami said grimly, "You might be able to stop the Uchiha, but can you stop Danzo from acting against them? At this point, the village leadership will never fully trust you again. And Danzo will never meet you in private again."

Shisui's face showed dawning realization.

Kagami gave him a final warning: "Remember this—if Danzo ever calls you for a private meeting again, there's only one reason. He's planning to kill you. Then again... he may not live long enough to get that chance..."
