Chapter 335
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Chapter 318: The One Who Chases Tails
“Okay, okay. Let’s put the lovey-dovey stuff on pause and sit down first, shall we? Is just back, so standing must be tiring, right?”
After a while of being hugged by Fiera, Sharueina, who had been watching our interactions, stepped in to take charge.
“That was not my intention at all!”
“Loving this… so happy…”
I denied Sharueina’s words, but Fiera seemed quite delighted to hear her being told to stop being all mushy, as she continued to cling to me, her ears twitching.
“By the way, if you know Is just got back and is tired, why didn’t you stop them?”
“Well, you see, do you think I can stop them when they’re so in love with Is and only thinking about him? No way!”
“I was hoping you would at least try!”
Confidently, Sharueina declared it impossible, but as the princess, I really wanted her to use her authority to make it happen.
“Lewis, just give it up. It’s your fault for being away for three months! I missed you too! If I’m feeling this way, how could Fiera and the others possibly hold it in?”
“Sigh. Whatever. By the way, where’s Dōna?”
“Right now, she’s taking a nap. I told her you would be back around evening, so make sure to see her later.”
“How unusual.”
“That’s because I was considerate for you. If I had let her and Fiera see you right after your return, it would just tire you out even more, right?”
“Yeah, that’s true…”
I thought that Fiera would immediately rush over once she knew I was back, but it seemed Shuvina had delayed the news of my return a bit to spare me from getting worn out.
By the way, I had informed Fiera of my original return time using a communication earring, so Shuvina must’ve heard that from Fiera and told Dōna a little lie.
“Everyone, please take your seats. The tea is ready.”
While we were talking, Miria seemed to have prepared tea and cookies for everyone, and we each sat down.
“Fiera, seriously, you need to let go.”
“No. I’m sitting here.”
With that, Fiera tightened her grip on me and pulled me closer.
Right now, she was not sitting in a chair prepared for her, but rather on my lap as if it was the most natural thing ever, with her arms wrapped around my neck.
“Lewis, you say something too.”
“Hey, Fiera. Shuvina’s telling you to let go, and I’d like for you to sit on a chair since it’s hard to talk like this.”
“Then carry me.”
“If I carry you, will you sit on the chair?”
“Yeah.”
“Sigh. Fine.”
Truthfully, it was bothersome, but it seemed something had piqued her desires, and Fiera was now acting like a spoiled princess.
Come to think of it, she was actually from the royal family of the Beast Kingdom, so she wasn’t just acting like a princess; she was a real princess.
“Here, is this good?”
“Yeah. Thanks.”
Thinking that, I cradled Fiera, who was sitting on my lap, and set her on the empty chair before sitting back down myself.
“So? I’ll ask again, what happened?”
This was something that had been on my mind, and judging by Fiera’s earlier reaction, it seemed she didn’t cut her hair because she wanted to but was forced to for some reason.
“Well, I didn’t plan to hide it from you from the start, so if you want to hear it, I can get right into it. Actually…”
With that, Shuvina revealed everything that had occurred while I was away.
“So, after I left the academy, Shudo tried to drive you all away from me with some nonsensical rumors, right? And in response, both Fiera and Shudo ended up clashing. Then, Shudo cut off Fiera’s arm from behind and Sephiria healed her. However, since Fiera’s hair had caught fire too, she had no choice but to cut it since it couldn’t be restored.”
“That’s the gist of it. After that, I let everyone go into winter break early. The atmosphere at the academy wasn’t good, and I thought it would be better for them.”
“I see.”
“Yeah. At that time, it was my fault for being careless. Besides, she got her arm healed, and El told her she looks good with short hair, so she’s not worried anymore. But next time, I won’t let my guard down.”
Although it was a sudden ambush from behind, Fiera expressed her strong will through her determined eyes, feeling more regretful about having let her guard down against Shudo.
“Well, I’ve got nothing to say about that. If it was a result of your own judgment and action, that’s even more reason for me to stay out of it.”
If, as a result of their choices, something terrible were to happen to them, that would be a consequence of their own decision, and I had no intention of getting involved or commenting further.
“Anyway, I get the general situation now. So, the current state of things at the academy is that because Shudo said you all were being brainwashed by me, nasty rumors about me have spread?”
“That’s right. And even though we keep saying there’s no truth to it, no one believes us and instead imposes their sympathy onto us.”
Well, this was to be expected, I guess.
Based on past experiences, I had thought it was just a matter of time before rumors of me brainwashing Fiera and the others started circulating, and according to Iris, sure enough, those rumors had already spread, causing me to be glared at by the students at the academy.
“As for that, Iris and the others can handle it however they like. They can continue to deny it or ignore it; I don’t really care. I’ll leave it to your judgment.”
“Understood.”
“Sephiria, what’s that guy’s deal?”
“Currently, they are burning with a sense of justice against you, the so-called ‘villain.’ Originally, it was that person who spread the rumor that Fiera and the others were brainwashed, and somehow that story got back to them, resulting in Lewis-sama being recognized as a villain who uses magic to control people.”
“What an idiot.”
“So dumb.”
“Such a big idiot.”
“Stupid beyond belief.”
“There’s no other way to describe them as a fool.”
“Yeah, a real idiot. Empty-headed.”
“I’m going to hold back my words.”
It seemed I wasn’t the only one who thought that guy was an idiot after hearing Sephiria; even Sharueina said she would hold back her words, which showed just how foolish Shudo’s actions were.
Basically, it was like a dog or cat chasing its own tail, not realizing it was part of its own body and just going in circles.
What a hopeless idiot.
“I’ll leave the monitoring of him to Sephiria from now on.”
“Got it. Leave it to me.”
“Any other changes?”
“Oh, in that regard, there’s one thing that’s changed or rather gone back to normal.”
“Back to normal?”
“Yes. Kamael has returned.”
“Haha. So he’s back, huh? This could get interesting.”
If my memory serves me right, it’s around the time of the grade change in a few months.
A big event is about to happen in this imperial capital.
This is one of the incidents I’ve been waiting for and absolutely must set in motion.
“I’ve lost interest in the hero stuff. Let’s focus over there for now.”
Grinning, I immediately began devising plans in my head for the upcoming events.
“Whoa. Seeing El make that expression after so long is dizzying!”
“Right? It gives off a shiver.”
“So cool!”
“I’m so glad to be engaged to you, Lewis-sama.”
“I thank the gods for being here.”
“I’ll remember this moment for a lifetime.”
“Haha. It feels like normal life has returned. Though saying this is normal feels off in a way.”
During that time, I felt like Fiera and the others were saying something, but right now, that didn’t even matter to me—I was simply looking forward to what lay ahead.
