The Villainess VTuber Tears People Apart

Chapter 114

The four teams participating in the Fantasy League had different gender ratios, depending on the team.

Anna’s team, Cerberus, consisted of five men, including the team owner. Anna was the only woman, and the last member seemed to operate under the persona of being genderless.

Son Narin’s team, Gryphon, had seven women, including the team owner. Interestingly, Gryphon’s owner was a female professional gamer.

Mashina’s team, Behemoth, had an even split: three male VTubers and three female VTubers. The owner was a man.

Then there was our team, Leviathan: five female VTubers and one male VTuber. The owner of our team was also a man.

In short, our gender ratio of 5:2 was the exact opposite of Cerberus.

“Hey, Barubara! What color are your underwear today~?”

One day, I witnessed a strange scene.

A 160 cm tall girl was sexually harassing a burly 180 cm tall man.

“Back off.”

“Wow, it’s been a while since we met, and look at that solid body of yours. You’re ridiculously sexy! Be honest. Are you trying to seduce me?”

“Why do you always say such stupid things every time we meet?”

“Because I’m a fool! A fool who only knows you…♡”

“…Hah.”

Barubara shoved the girl away with a look of utter disbelief.

Her name was Kaga Mero.

She was a female VTuber selected as a Tier 5 pick for Leviathan.

At first glance, I thought she either had a crush on Barubara or was aiming to create a “couple moment” with him as part of her VTuber persona.

But that wasn’t the case.

“Rui! What color are your underwear today?!”

The moment Rui logged in, she rushed over and hugged her from behind.

“Underwear? Oh, pink.”

“What the hell? That’s so damn hot. Damn, this is turning me on…”

“Oh, really?”

“Rui, you like me, don’t you? You even left comments on my stream before. That means you like me.”

“Yeah, sure, I like you. But could you move back just a little? You’re suffocating me.”

“I like you too, Rui…♡ Mutual love! Should we get married? Hehe…”

“Marriage costs too much. With today’s inflation, it’s more economical to stay single, don’t you think?”

Apparently, Mero acting like this was nothing new. Rui handled her antics with detached indifference.

Watching her for a bit, I realized something.

Mero didn’t care whether her target was male or female—she initiated physical contact indiscriminately. If her target was female, her sexual harassment became even bolder.

Her language was crude, her behavior was far from ladylike, and she was reportedly not very hygienic. People said she barely bathed once every two days.

She was, in every sense of the word, a “filthy” VTuber. But Kaga Mero was also a veteran who had been active since 2019.

While her words were often outrageous, she carefully chose her targets.

“Welcome, milady!”

With a deep bow, Mero greeted me as soon as I entered my MyRoom.

“You’re loud.”

“Yes! I’m loud as always! Being loud is my only redeeming quality! By the way, milady, you look beautiful today!”

Mero chuckled awkwardly.

As a VTuber, Mero was my senior with a much longer career. However, ever since our first meeting, she had been oddly deferential to me.

It seemed like she went out of her way to curry favor with me.

But it wasn’t because she sincerely respected me or felt any sort of awe.

“She probably thinks it’s more fun this way.”

For male VTubers like Barubara, she seemed to think it was more entertaining to sexually harass them, so she went out of her way to act like that.

Clearly, she was the team’s mood maker.

Rui played the role of team captain, responsible for leading the members. As for me, I was the ace tasked with carrying the team to victory.

The mood-making duties likely fell to Barubara and Mero.

“Team chemistry must’ve been really important to our team owner.”

Our owner, Choi Gaho, seemed to prioritize team atmosphere when drafting players.

But had he prioritized it too much?

So much focus on team chemistry had led to in-game issues.

【The enemy Paladin has defeated our Cavalryman.】

【The enemy Spearman has defeated our Dual Swordsman.】

【The enemy Spearman has defeated our Mage.】

【The enemy Archer has defeated our Battle Priest.】

【The enemy Spearman has defeated our Puppeteer.】

Yet another loss.

Since it wasn’t a ranked match, it wasn’t a big deal. But I was starting to get annoyed.

“Milady, you worked hard!”

After finishing the game, I returned to MyRoom.

The other members of Leviathan were already there, waiting for me. I was the last to arrive.

And that was something unavoidable.
As a lone wolf, I had been fighting solo while the rest of the party, operating as a group, had been completely wiped out. Naturally, they had returned to MyRoom long before me.

I had fought my best, but the overwhelming difference in numbers, combined with the fact that Dark Knights aren’t damage dealers, made it impossible to turn the tide.

As I was regretting not choosing a Berserker or Phantom Thief instead, Mero scurried up to me.

“I’ll bang my head in apology!”

And with that, she slammed her head to the ground before me.

If this had been the real world, it would’ve been a physically grueling position. But this was a virtual reality world where punishments weren’t so tough.

I glanced down at Mero and sat on her back.

“Ow…!”

“Rui, play the replay.”

-She turned her into a chair without hesitation lol

-This is harsher than the military lmao

-But hey, sitting on milady’s lap is totally worth it, isn’t it?

【Ararararagi Sora donated 1,000 won.】

【Sora, what are you doing? You’re missing your chance to become milady’s chair!】

The chat was as chaotic as ever.

Crossing my arms and legs, I shifted my weight more heavily onto Mero’s back. She’d endure, wouldn’t she?

Meanwhile, Rui began playing the replay, allowing me to analyze how our party had been wiped out.

“You initiated too hastily again.”

“Yes, milady!”

Mero shouted from beneath me.

“But look, milady! Didn’t I pick a beautiful moment to initiate?”

“And?”

“The teammates who didn’t follow up are at fault!”

“Keep your mouth shut.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

Mero clamped her mouth shut.

At that, Rui let out a small sigh and spoke.

“Sorry. Laura did her best, but we lost because of us.”

“That’s what practice is for. Don’t dwell on it too much.”

I might be the most perfect noblewoman in existence, but even I wasn’t perfect at everything from the start.

There’s a saying that failure is the mother of success.

You often gain more lessons and experience from defeat than from victory. Using the data from such losses, you win the next time.

So, it’s fine to lose a lot during practice, as long as you win when it counts.

However,

“Getting too accustomed to losing isn’t good either.”

Experience too much defeat, and you’ll forget how to win.

While experiencing loss isn’t inherently bad, it’s a waste if you don’t learn anything from it. So, this current string of defeats wasn’t exactly something I could consider a positive.

“The problems are twofold: our teamwork isn’t coming together, and our understanding of each position is lacking.”

“True.”

Rui nodded.

“Aside from Barubara and me, this is everyone’s first time participating in the Fantasy League.”

That was what Rui said.

Honestly, everyone’s gaming skills weren’t bad.

They all had decent mechanics, and even the lower-tiered players like Mero and Sora had some individual talent.

The problem was that everyone played as if it were solo queue, even in team battles.

‘The issue is that they don’t consider their teammates.’

The Tank leads the party’s frontline. If the Tank charges forward, it shifts the team’s center of gravity forward.

When the Tank, positioned at the forefront, gets eliminated first, the frontline collapses. Without a solid formation, the team panics and gets swept away.

This wasn’t just Mero’s fault as the Tank—it was a collective lack of cohesion among the team. It’s just that Mero’s mistakes were the most noticeable.

Everyone focused too much on their own gameplay and didn’t sync well with their teammates.

Come to think of it, while Sora had plenty of experience with 3-player Arcade Modes, this was her first time in a 6-player queue. So perhaps this was unavoidable.

“Let’s swap positions,” Rui suggested.

“Mero’s Tank skills are lacking, so Barubara should Tank. Mero can switch to a sustained DPS role, and I’ll take on melee DPS. How does that sound?”

“It’s not a bad idea, but it doesn’t seem like a fundamental solution. The real issue is Mero’s tendency to jump the gun.”

“I’ll fix that!” Mero spoke up again.

“I’ll really be careful from now on! Next time, I’ll do well, so please trust me just this once!”

“I don’t think I can trust you, though.”

It felt less like a problem of position mastery and more like a mindset issue.

Unless Mero changed her attitude, the same problems would likely continue. Even if her position were swapped, her reckless initiation as a Tank would simply become a DPS recklessly diving in.

“Sora.”

“Hmm?”

“Listen to Rui carefully.”

“…Huh?”

Sora tilted her head at my words.

I got up, lifted Mero to her feet, and grabbed her by the collar.

“Ugh?! Wh-what’s this…?”

“Rui, teach Sora a bit. I’ll handle Mero one-on-one.”

I dragged Mero away.

Our team’s lower-tier players, Sora and Mero, were currently ranked Unranked and Silver, respectively.

There are two main ways to win a match: by neutralizing the opponent’s strengths or exploiting their weaknesses.

It’s an obvious point, but the latter is clearly easier.

And our team’s weakness was, without question, the low-tier players, Sora and Mero.

From the opponent’s perspective, it was more efficient to target Sora and Mero persistently than to deal with me.

So, from our perspective, we needed to patch up those gaps in our team.

How much Sora and Mero could grow before the league began would determine our team’s success.

“Ah, milady… Can you, uh, let me go now…?”

“Hmm.”

I glanced around. None of the other teammates were in sight. It was just me and Mero.

Only then did I let go of her collar.

“Ugh… Our lady sure is tough. So, milady, what should I do now?”

“Drop the formal speech.”

“Y-yes?!”

Mero’s eyes widened in shock, likely because of my sudden shift in tone.

I gave her a reassuring smile, just like I always did.

“Drop the formalities, I said.”

I repeated firmly.
