Chapter 103
As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the CCTV recognized Laura and Shina’s faces.
The AI confirmed there were no issues and opened the main entrance for us.
We parked the car in the garage. Then, as expected, Laura handed Shina the task of carrying the luggage and leisurely strolled into the hotel.
“Welcome.”
Just in time, Choi Changyoung greeted us.
“We brought today’s provisions.”
“Thank you as always. This way, please.”
Changyoung discreetly led us down the corridor.
Aside from Changyoung, I could see other streamers milling around in the hotel.
“Shina-senior, you’re here?”
“…Why did you all follow me here?”
“We were curious. They said you were prepping ingredients, right?”
“If you’re going to just watch, then come and help! Do you think it makes sense for a senior to be bossed around? Aurora ordered me to bring this stuff in, you know?”
“Isn’t it best when Shina-senior is being bossed around, though?”
“Are you insane!? I’m your senior, hey!”
Shina exploded in irritation.
Several VTubers trailed closely behind her.
There were some from the SerenadeKR group, others from different companies, and even a few independent VTubers.
No matter the company, Shina had long become a pushover to her juniors.
She was practically an easy target for almost all of them, not just Laura. Even though she roleplayed as a demon, she had no authority to speak of.
This hotel is named ‘The Last Line of Defense of the Republic of Korea’.
The name sounded grand, but it was simply where all the Korean streamers participating in the Revenge Server had been gathered.
In the last streamer advertisement server, the main problem had been the lack of collaboration between streamers. So, in this Revenge Server, they decided to make full use of the Fire Department’s survivor search function to gather everyone in one place.
‘I live outside the hotel, though.’
For reference, Laura and Shina didn’t live in the hotel.
Their role was to supply food, so they’d set up camp near a fishing spot outside the hotel.
Shina wasn’t thrilled about leaving the hotel, but what choice did she have? She never had control in the first place.
Every day, they caught fish, set traps in the mountains to catch wild animals, and even set up basket traps in the river to catch freshwater shrimp.
The food they obtained that way was distributed to the people living in the hotel. In exchange, they received cash, weapons, and other supplies.
It was a fairly systematic division of roles.
However, there was one problem.
“It would be good if you could at least learn how to handle the ingredients by now.”
That was Laura’s complaint.
“We’d like to as well….”
It was Elenoa who was attempting to placate Laura with these words.
Next to Noa was Jungseok. Both of them looked far from enthusiastic.
This was the kitchen.
The ingredients Laura had brought were stored in the kitchen pantry, and her task was technically done at that point. Laura’s role was solely to “supply the ingredients.”
“Is there seriously no one here who can prepare fish or meat?”
“…Aren’t people nowadays rare to know such skills?”
Noa replied hesitantly.
Surprisingly, none of the streamers in this hotel could bring themselves to cut off a live fish’s head or skin a wild animal.
Of course, it was understandable. These were people used to buying pre-prepared ingredients from the store, not those who’d remove animal skin and bones for their meals.
On the other hand, Laura was very experienced with ingredient preparation.
Although she couldn’t cook, she had no intention of learning culinary skills anytime soon.
However, Laura had repeatedly cleared dungeons and gates in “that other world.”
There were times she had to camp for over a month, and on many occasions, she’d had to catch and cook local monsters to survive.
Removing blood, skinning, and gutting were essential skills to stave off hunger.
In extreme circumstances, even a noble young lady had no choice.
That was why Laura was the only one here who knew how to prepare fish and meat.
“I can’t keep preparing these all by myself. It’s not really appropriate for a duchess to be working in the kitchen.”
“I may not know much, but I agree that it’s not right to leave it all to you, Laura.”
“Good attitude. So pay attention and remember what I show you this time.”
“Understood….”
Noa and Jungseok nodded.
These two were the ones who had been assigned to learn ingredient prep from Laura.
To atone for something, they were now obligated to do the grunt work.
“Alright, Shina, bring it over.”
“This… is so damn heavy!”
When Laura gestured to her, Shina, along with Changyoung, grunted as they hauled over the ingredients.
It was a wild boar.
“Eek?!”
“Did… did you catch that?”
“Yes, it was caught in a trap.”
Laura nodded in response.
This Revenge Server was set to “Easy Mode,” so it was less challenging than the previous streamer advertisement server.
The key difference was that the zombie virus did not affect animals, only humans. So, wild animals like boars could still be used as food.
“For the record, the boar isn’t completely dead. It’s hard to drain the blood if the heart stops.”
“Eek!”
Noa shrieked and backed away.
Ignoring her, Laura hung up the boar.
Then, with skilled hands, she inserted a knife between the neck and chest, severing the carotid artery.
A gush of blood sprayed out.
Using the heartbeat, she quickly drained the blood.
Once the blood was thoroughly drained, she removed the organs.
She slit open the stomach and handed over the stomach, liver, intestines, and other organs to Noa.
“…W-why are you giving these to me?”
“Oh, they’re the tasty parts.”
“What…?”
Noa grimaced at the grotesque organs, but Laura, being a duchess, had quite a refined palate.
She could easily enjoy dishes made from innards. Suddenly, she was craving some soup. Perhaps she’d have some tripe soup or tripe stew later.
Sundae sausages were good too, but Laura particularly liked the rich texture of liver.

【Did you work at a butcher’s shop?】
She occasionally received odd questions like that, but really, all she could do was the preparation work.
While she could remove the innards, cooking delicious organ dishes was beyond her.
Right now, Laura’s task was to skin the boar.
Of course, skinning an entire boar took a lot of time.
So, she only demonstrated part of the process and left the rest for the others.
“This is how it’s done. You can do it, right?”
“…You expect us to do this?”
“Can’t you?”
Jungseok was horrified.
Laura gently asked him. Her voice didn’t sound threatening in the slightest.
The only problem was that Laura was holding a knife.
Of course, she had to hold it for the preparation work.
But when he saw the gleam in her eyes… Jungseok felt an irrational fear of being stabbed.
“W-well, I’m not saying I won’t, but… it’s too difficult….”
“Then practice.”
“Excuse me…?”
“Bring another, Shina.”
At Laura’s command, Shina sighed and left the room.
Then, struggling again, she and Changyoung brought over another wild boar.
“Today, we were lucky enough to catch two boars.”
Laura smiled.

And with that, I managed to peacefully reconcile with the SerenadeKR VTubers. They loved every bit of what I showed them.
‘Well. I doubt I’ll be entering the Revenge Server very often, though.’
Unlike the streamer advertisement server, I didn’t have a proactive role here.
After all, I was just a mercenary. That’s how it felt.
For now, I had been tasked with supplying food and prepping ingredients, but as time passed, my work would likely decrease.
Eventually, they’d reach a point where they could stably supply food without my help. By then, I wouldn’t need to log into the Revenge Server anymore.
I could still enjoy Aseosal on the “streamer advertisement server” just fine.
‘Although, these days, no one really logs in much.’
Rion couldn’t play Aseosal after going back to work.
Sora still logged in sometimes, but not as consistently as before. She seemed busy lately.
Ainatsu, who was still living at my place, was always available, but she generally prioritized her broadcasts over Aseosal. Unless I asked her, she didn’t log in much.
Since I’d been promoted, I’d keep playing, though, for now, it felt more like solo survival mode.
Once we made some in-game progress, I figured everyone would gather again.
But as Aseosal activity waned—that’s when she showed up.
“I’m here for a visit! Let me crash at your place! And feed me!”
The declaration of a human disaster right from the get-go.
Shiroki Anna had come over to my house.
