Chapter 5: Chapter 5 : The arrival of Goku

Silence fell over the plain; no one had anticipated what had just happened. Gohan, who was still on the ground, looked up with wide eyes to see Ridlay standing in front of him.

"Are you okay?" Ridlay asked, turning his head toward Gohan to make sure the young Saiyan was okay.

Gohan simply nodded, unable to form words, still in shock at what had just happened.

"You?! What do you think you're doing?"

Ridlay turned his cold, stern gaze toward Vegeta, who wore a more than angry expression.

"You know, at first, I wondered why you asked me to wait and watch... then you started fighting out of nowhere, and I have to admit it surprised me... but now... you're attacking a kid, what kind of Saiyan are you?"

A smirk appeared on Vegeta's face. "So what? We plan to eradicate all life on this planet in order to sell it! Are you planning on stopping us? Don't make me laugh!"

Ridlay frowned upon hearing this.

'So that was their plan... the reason why he said it didn't matter what I came here for...'

"Yes!"

When Ridlay answered, Vegeta's smile disappeared, giving way to a dark look directly at Rydlay.

"You see... there's a reason why I'm here, and the fact that you guys are here doesn't suit me. So I plan on getting rid of this nuisance."

A vein bulged on Vegeta's forehead as a crooked smile played on his lips, trying to dispel his irritation at what Rydlay had just said.

*chuckles* "And you think you have the strength to compete with us?"

During the time he watched them fight, Ridlay had been able to get a general idea of their power level. For Nappa, his power level shouldn't be a problem if no unwanted variant comes into play. As for Vegeta, his power level is clearly above Nappa's. He is clearly the more dangerous of the two, so if he were to have to face both at the same time, it could complicate things, but he knows that the kind of individual like Vegeta has a huge ego and would want to fight him alone.

Gohan, who was behind Ridley, struggled to his feet, still a little shaken by recent events. When he managed to get back on his feet, his gaze was drawn to a shadow on the ground that moved before disappearing behind him. He then felt a presence behind him, a presence both powerful and familiar, one he could recognize among a thousand.

He turned around to see Goku standing behind him, a kind and comforting smile on his face.

"Hi, Son Gohan, you've made so much progress in a year... I'm proud of you."

Tears began to roll down Gohan's cheeks.

"D....D....DAD!!!"

Gohan rushed into Goku's comforting embrace while crying his heart out.

"Go... Goku... you're really here!" Krillin said in a trembling voice, still lying on the ground.

Goku suddenly disappeared and reappeared in front of Krillin, holding Gohan in one arm. He lifted Krillin by the waist before disappearing again and appearing near the rock formation where Weiss and Ruby were.

He placed Krillin and Gohan against the stone before saying with a big smile.

"You both did a great job, as did our friends who fell in battle... Don't worry, I'll take care of the rest now!"

Both Gohan and Krillin nodded, smiles on their faces and hope in their eyes. Hope that they now had a chance to win against the Sayans.

Goku then turned to Ruby and Weiss.

"Thank you for helping my friends, whoever you are! I owe you one," he said, looking at the two girls.

"Oh hum...thanks..." Weiss said, embarrassed, seeing as she hadn't done anything.

"Hehehe, don't worry, Ruby is always there to help those in need!" Ruby exclaimed with a wide smile on her face.

"Thanks, both of you!"

He then turned to Vegeta and Ridlay, who were watching the scene from afar, alerted by Gohan's cries and Goku's presence.

Goku walked up to them before stopping right next to Ridlay.

"Thanks for saving Gohan! You look pretty strong!"

Ridlay looked Goku up and down with a sharp eye.

'So this is the little one's father... judging by his appearance and the aura he gives off, this guy is clearly a Saiyan, but he seems different from the other two... maybe his personality... how come there are so many Saiyans on this planet...'

Ridlay nodded simply when Vegeta's voice emerged.

"Here you are at last, Kakarot! I've been waiting for you!"

Ridlay and Goku turned to Vegeta, Goku looking at him with a dark look while Ridlay wore his unreadable stare.

"I'm glad you're here. It would be a shame if you weren't here to see me destroy your friends and everything you hold dear, you miserable traitor!

....But if you admit your mistake and apologize at my feet, I might consider forgiving you and allowing you to join us... It goes without saying for you too, Ridlay," Vegeta said with a sly smile.

"Like I told Raditz, I will never join monsters like you, whether I'm a Saiyan or not!"

Ridlay remained silent and simply flipped him off.

The already visible vein on Vegeta's head doubled in size as he tried to contain his anger at the double rejection and affront he had just received.

"Well, in that case, you both deserve to die with those pathetic humans!"

Suddenly, an explosion mixed with a scream of rage cut short their conversation as the three Saiyans turned towards the source of the explosion to see Nappa emerging from the rubble and smoking, covered in wounds and scars, his face distorted by seething rage, his bloodshot eyes staring at Ridlay with murderous intent.

"Hmph, and I thought a single blow would have taken you out... to be honest, it would have been a shame for you..."

"You!!!! You little shit. Wait until I get my hands on you and I'll..."

"Shut up, Nappa! Don't you think you've already made a fool of yourself like this?"

Nappa didn't finish his sentence but didn't look away from Ridlay, his eyes tearing him apart if they could.

Goku looked at Nappa and Ridlay before his gaze fell on Vegeta. He then turned to look at Krillin, Gohan, Ruby, and Weiss before finally turning back to the two invaders, a smirk forming on his mouth.

"Sooo...it seems like those two have some unfinished business, so how about we go somewhere else so we don't get in each other's way?" Goku asked Vegeta, his gaze full of challenge.

*Chuckles* "As you wish...whatever makes you think you stand a chance against me..."

"Well, that settles it then."

Goku turned to Ridlay and raised his fist at him.

"I'll let you handle the big guy while I take care of this one!" A big smile spread across his face.

Ridlay raised an eyebrow as he watched Goku, keeping his expression unreadable. He had never met a Saiyan like him. All the Saiyans he knew or had known all looked the same to him...same mentality...same convictions...same beliefs...all the same, but him...there was just something different about this guy, Goku, and he didn't know what to think about it.

He looked at the fist Goku was holding out to him for a few seconds, then looked back at Goku before quickly bumping Goku's fist with his own.

"Hehe!" Goku's smile widened even more.

"Okay, let's do this!"

In one quick, fluid movement, Goku and Vegeta took off from the ground, rising high into the sky before flying off towards the horizon, leaving Ridlay and Nappa, Gohan, Krillin, Ruby, and Weiss.

The expression of rage on Nappa's face slowly transformed into a twisted smile, blood still dripping from his mouth.

"Hahahaha... I hope you're ready... because I'm going to make you feel pain far beyond your comprehension!"

"How strange... I already can't understand how you think you have a chance of winning this fight..."

Hearing this, something snapped within Nappa, the last shred of patience, if he still had any left.

"I'm going to massacre you, tear you apart, dismember you, crush you, make you cry blood until you beg me to end your miserable existence!"

Ridlay turned sideways while continuing to face Nappa, his gaze as defiant as ever, then he opened his mouth to say a single thing.

"Make me!"
