The System I Created

Chapter 12: The Bounty

Chapter 12

The player association branch facility in the major city in the west was notably more active; the Lonestar state tends to draw more people as they are fundamentally raised in a culture that deeply values family and community. The atmosphere at the branch facility was always warm and welcoming. The gun-slinging state no longer dwells in the stereotypes of the past.

The city is known for its vibrant arts scene and diverse people. It has evolved into a hub of creativity and inclusivity, having the largest number of players in all fifty states. The sense of adventure was ignited when Arcane Crusade was lunch; the game might started out weak due to many bugs and weak game play, but gradually it changed when a new game system was implemented.

And seven outsource developers, under Damon Lazarus's guidance, made changes that changed the dynamic flow and structure of the game for the better. Soon those who hated it changed their opinion as the virtual game became so engaging and immersive that it quickly gained a huge following. The line between reality and the virtual world began to blur.

The technology that Nexus Corporation obtained was beyond just entertainment; it was revolutionary, to say the least, changing the way people interacted with each other and their surroundings. And the last person that made it possible is now staying in a damp and worn-out cheap hotel room; he never felt alive having lived a life outside his comfort zone.

He enhanced his sense to detect specific targets based on what he wished to seek, being sure to use the remaining experience points wisely. The system he acquired was a game-changer in every way; it was more than just a cheat. With his newly acquired skills, he was able to move around the world with an efficiency and accuracy that were simply unmatched.

However, Dane was aware that he needed to use this power carefully because the gods who had stolen his beloved virtual game might see him. With this in mind, Dane intends to take his time and simply pursue his main objective. And that is to freely appreciate what he has dedicated his entire youth to cultivating.

Dane gained access to his system when a semi-transparent square screen appeared in front of him. It was a holographic representation of his work screen with a holographic sensor keyboard for entering code.

Since Dane perceives the world logically and doesn't get terrified or excited quickly, he wasn't the kind of person who reacts openly to things he can't explain. This was his second time using it, and it felt natural to him.

As he began typing away, his focus was unwavering, his mind fully engaged in the task at hand. The holographic technology made his work more efficient and seamless, allowing his creativity to flow freely as he worked on developing new programs for him to use.

His remaining experience point was enough to create a simple search engine that is related to the tower of chaos, and he made sure to connect this search tool toward his dimensional storage space. Dane still wanted to limit this use.

Searching items and obtaining them will be much easier now, but he knew he needed to conserve his resources for more important tasks in the future. As he continued to refine his search engine to the point he included a voice activation, Dane felt a sense of satisfaction in knowing that his hard work was paying off.

Key words were included, like search, target, obtain, buy, use, activate, merge, combine, and many more key words. He can't just access the hologram screen publicly. He still wasn't sure the other player could see this, but Dane wasn't about to take the risk. He thought this was the best option: was to create a simple learning AI assistant that has voice and mental activation command prompt. Dane crossed his fingers as he was about to spend 1500 experience points on this as he pressed enter. He waited, and soon a notification flashed on his holographic screen.

Dane grinned with relief as he started to experiment with the additional functions that the voice and mental activation command prompt offered.

"Voice and mental activation command prompt granted; initializing search tool; connecting to storage database."

He was eager to see how his experience will be improved by this change. Dane used a virtual AI assistant he called Miko to deliver the information to him since he wanted it to be organic and unaffected by his social life.

Dane had always been fascinated by the idea of integrating technology seamlessly into his daily routine, and having a virtual assistant like Miko was a step in that direction. With Miko's help, Dane could access information quickly and efficiently without disrupting his interactions with others, and at the same time safely secure his personal life without being notice by anybody in power

"Let's test this new feature first."

Getting out of his lumpy, shabby motel bed, Dane grabbed the wanted port Mr. Boone had given him and noticed eleven faces written on it—wanted gamers who had exploited their skills to perpetrate crimes. Finding these sought-after players would be the ideal test for Dane's new voice and mental activation command prompt, he knew.

"Miko."

"Yes, Dane, what can I do for you?"

"Search for Robert Duller."

"Please be advised; accessing the database for players is being monitored."

"Okay, activate the code script I created first before proceeding."

"Accessing files …"

"Script for random random IP generator activated."

"Location will change in 3... 2… 1 "

"current location, Japan."

"I will now proceed with the search."

"Searching for Robert Duller..." Dane was resolved to demonstrate the value of his recently upgraded AI helper by finding and, ideally, capturing one of the sought players in order to temporarily alleviate his financial burden. Dane felt a surge of excitement at the prospect of using his enhanced abilities to bring a criminal to justice.

"Location found… target is currently at a Jack and Sons bar, east 150 meters for your current location."

"Hmm, lucky me, he's from this area."

"Proceed with caution; Robert Duller is a known murderer with two convictions for violent crimes."

"wanted dead or alive."

"Player association system requires an account?"

"Should I create a temporary account on the bounty hunter data system they created?"

"Please implement all necessary privacy measures first, then after proceeding."

"Implementing measure… done, proceeding with account."

"What account name should I place?"

"used ORION"

" done."

"Do you wish to connect to the player association bounty hunting payment system for verification and payment?"

"Huh? That's new to me, Miko. Can you elaborate?" This question hung in the air as I tried to process the information Miko had just shared. The concept of using encrypted DNA biometrics for player identification in a gaming environment was revolutionary.

Each registered player carries a small nanochip embedded in their wrist, a cutting-edge technology that revolutionizes how identities are verified. Unlike traditional identification cards that can be easily forged or lost, this biometrics system guarantees that only authorized individuals can participate in high-stakes activities, such as bounty hunting or mission completions.

Miko explained further that the identification card serves merely as a soft copy for documentation purposes, while the real security lies within the encrypted DNA data. This innovative approach not only streamlines the verification process but also enhances accountability.

When a player successfully captures or terminates a target, the nanochip ensures that payments are securely processed and delivered to the right person, minimizing the risk of fraud. In an industry often plagued by deception,

"This technology introduces a layer of integrity that many players, including myself, might have previously deemed impossible."

"Who created this nanochip?"

"You, sir, you created the first prototype."

"This chip was intended to be included in the future development of virtual games that you and Nexus Corporation financially funded. You, sir, designed the first prototype as a strategic move to secure each player's data and information. By embedding this technology within each player's body and adding their gaming data into the main framework, you and our six developers took significant steps toward safeguarding player identities and transactions."

"As many navigate this new frontier, it becomes evident that the fusion of gaming and advanced technology is not just about enhancing entertainment; "

"it's also about creating an ecosystem where players can feel safe and valued. In doing so, you made plans to elevate its standards but also solidify its commitment to fostering a reliable and engaging environment for all players."

"After the introduction of the tower, Nexus Corporation had to change their approach so they could still be part of the drastic change the world was now facing, so the moment the government saw the players gain powers,"

"they needed a protective erasure to monitor them all. Thus the creation of the player association on the seven continents. Nexus finally gained the opportunity to use your prototype."

"Do you wish to remove tracking and surveillance of your nanochip?"

"Nexus Corporation manipulated your design for their own personal gain, so removing the tracking and surveillance of your nanochip is crucial in order to regain control over your own abilities and privacy. By doing so, you can protect yourself from being exploited by Nexus Corporation."

"If they can track all the players in the world, why can't the payer association access this?"

"Due to privacy law, the player association may not have the legal authority to access the tracking and surveillance data of individual players without their consent. Additionally, allowing unfettered access to this information could potentially violate the rights and privacy of the players involved."

"So what I just did is considered illegal?" "Depending on the specific circumstances and laws in place, accessing tracking and surveillance data without consent could potentially be illegal. It's important to be aware of the legal implications before taking any actions that could compromise your own privacy or the privacy of others."

"So the nanochip I created is based on Internet Protocol, which is a way for computers to communicate with each other and access the internet."

"Basically, each nanochip a player has is its own personalized serial number imbedded with their player avatar."

"Okay, first create a fire wall before removing all tracking and surveillance on my nanochip, then create a fake and random location upon disconnection."

"creating a fire wall while fabricating a temporary location, detecting similar wave frequency currently in Istanbul, connection is now secure, disconnecting tracking and surveillance at your command."

"proceed!"

"connection terminated, location now being track by Nexus system… location establish "

"The last known location is in Istanbul."

"The nanochip is now concealed."

"That's perfect, Miko!"

"I never expected that this was going to be like this—too much digital tech in a world being consumed by supernatural elements."

"If I were younger, I would act like nothing is phasing me, but this is all new to me."

"Being overly cautious is something that I need to assess before making a rash decision."

"We need to stay one step ahead of whatever is out there."

"I better get to work; my relatives will sure be worried if I don't show up at the tower after a month; better text Emmit; forgot its uncle Emmit now."

"These kinds of mistakes will be an issue; better fix the bug now before anything else."

"Miko, please search for players that committed murder within the city, plot the best route on every target, and select adequate and proper punishment based on their crime."

"I might as well grant the victims some justice."

"Accessing player database,"

"Sir, I found 25 players within range, with murder charges; these individuals eluded justice because of their ability and influence with major guilds."

"I want to know their crimes, Miko, so I can justify the action I shall take upon them."

"Converting all 25 criminal file cases to memory data. From closes to the farthest located target."

" proceed."

In a matter of 5 minutes, information flowed into Dane's mind and he became consumed with vengeance. As the crimes of these 25 players were too heinous to be considered forgivable, Dane's eyes narrowed as he absorbed the details of each player's crimes, feeling a burning desire for justice to be served. With a steely drive, he vowed to track down each one of them and ensure they faced the consequences of their actions.

Dane clenched his hands and tightened his jaw. He was now ready to hunt, and the first one on the list was Robert Duller. He killed his own ex-wife and even killed an innocent woman just because she was wearing the same earring that he gave his dead ex-wife.

The innocent woman died in a brutal way; she was cut into pieces and scattered around the city. leaving her husband and three children devastated. Dane knew he had to bring Robert Duller to justice for the sake of all those affected by his senseless violence. These people deserve the most painful death. Dane grabbed his coat and went out as the sun was setting. He headed toward the location, and because of his player abilities, he could reach the place within the alocated route path.

"Miko, within a time frame of six hours, how many criminals can I hunt down?"

"Based on your speed and efficiency, you should be able to track down at least ten criminals within that time frame," Miko replied confidently. Dane nodded, Beheading and shooting at the chest and head will suffice."

"Do you wish me to block at CCTV in the area??"

"Just blur my face; I want to show those criminals that they are no longer the predetor, bt insted they are the prey ."
