Luka’s Life in the Royal Palace

Every morning, I wake up in a fluffy bed. Well, I say I wake up, but it’s really Nia-san who wakes me up.

She’s not so much waking me as she is waking up Leine-chan, who sleeps with me.

Leine-chan is hard to wake up, so I help Nia-san. I lick Leine-chan’s face.

“Ugh… Luka~… more tea… Nia too…”

“Good morning, Lady Leine. Thank you, Luka.”

“Mii~”

After this, it’s our daily routine to have some fluffy cuddle time with Leine-chan. It makes me really happy, and it reminds me of my sister.

After breakfast with Leine-chan, we go to greet her mother in the morning.

“Good morning, Leine, Luka.”

Leine-chan and her mother hug each other tightly and kiss each other’s cheeks.

Then it’s my turn. Leine-chan’s mother hugs me tightly and kisses my cheek. This is also part of our morning routine.

While Leine-chan and her mother are talking, I go to Nia-san to get some affection. There are many maids besides Nia-san, but she’s special.

Being held and petted by Nia-san feels so good. It’s the best in this palace, though the real best is probably Nero-nii-chan.

When Nia-san goes back to work, other maids come over to cuddle, pet, and kiss me in their own way. I don’t really like it, but Pello-nii-chan and Mii-onee-chan taught me the Twelve Rules for Being Adored, which include not resisting when petted and instead showing affection. So, I follow their advice. The maids look satisfied and smile.

Yes, making everyone smile is my job. I heard that Mii-onee-chan had the same job at the Hunter Guild. I’ll do my best too.

After Leine-chan and her mother finish talking, I go for a walk with Leine-chan. Since the palace is vast, Nia-san always comes with us.

The first place we go is the room where Leine-chan’s father is.

“Good morning, Father!”

“Mii~”

“Good morning, Leine. And Luka too.”

Leine-chan’s father also hugs her tightly and kisses her cheek. I stay quietly on Leine-chan’s father’s lap until they finish talking. He pets me too. Does it feel good?

Once they’re done talking, we resume our walk. From here, it’s up to Leine-chan; the route isn’t fixed. Sometimes we go to crowded places, other times we climb to the top of the tower to see the city. I wonder where I was born.

During our walk, we meet many people. Leine-chan introduces me each time. So, I put on a business smile? according to the Twelve Rules for Being Adored. Everyone smiles and pats my head. The Twelve Rules are amazing. Mii-onee-chan, who thought of them, is incredible.

At lunchtime, we return to Leine-chan’s mother for a meal. The food Mii-onee-chan fed me was delicious, but the food here is also very tasty.

After lunch, Leine-chan has study time, so we part for a while. In the meantime, I keep Leine-chan’s mother company. But keeping her company just means being held, which is an easy job.

Leine-chan’s mother meets with many people and talks to them. Sometimes, people bring cats like me, but they don’t play with me…

Some cats are even rude when I try to greet them.

“Don’t come near me, a noble cat like me!”

They hiss and threaten me. What does ‘noble’ mean? All the cats that come here are like that. I just want to be friends…

When Leine-chan finishes her studies, we play house in her room. I play the role of her husband, and Jennifer-chan, the doll, is our daughter. She’s a very cute doll.

After dinner, though not every day, I sometimes take a bath with Leine-chan. The maids wash me thoroughly, which feels good, but drying off is a hassle. Nero-nii-chan dried me off easily, but here I have to lick myself dry. Mii-onee-chan’s licking also felt good.

After the bath, it’s time for Leine-chan to go to bed, so I join her in bed.

Then, Leine-chan’s mother comes to read us a book or tell us a story. But I never hear the end of it. Both Leine-chan and I fall asleep halfway through. Someday, I’ll listen to the whole thing.

When I fall asleep, I always feel a soft sensation on my cheek. It feels like Mii-onee-chan is kissing me… I wonder if she’ll come to visit…
