Chapter 385: Easy Kill
<Ding!>
<All parties agreed to have a system bound to them!>
Neraxis didn't know what went on behind the scenes or why everyone accepted this so fast, but he didn't mind it.
After all, they were now much safer than they were moments ago.
So with that in mind, he met the gazes of everyone present.
"This will let me help you a bit easier," Neraxis said awkwardly. "Though I understand it doesn't make much sense..."
His mother stepped forward and placed a hand over his head.
"It's fine, Neraxis," Sophia muttered. "You've been disappearing a lot lately, so it's nice knowing we're at least a tad bit closer to you."
A warm feeling welled up in his chest as he nodded back at her, then returned his gaze over to Evangeline.
"We're going to go right away. I want to get rid of them by the end of today," he stated.
Evangeline tilted her head. "Kill 'them?' You mean the Sovereigns?"
Noticing his silence, she let out a sigh.
"Well, I don't know why I'm surprised. You seemed pretty strong in your memories, so you can probably deal with them pretty fast."
"Don't get too overconfident though," Violet chimed in. "They're still the Sovereigns."
"Don't worry, I'm not being overconfident," Neraxis replied flatly. "If they are as strong as Wrath, then I can defeat them. If they're stronger, then I might have a little trouble."
But as Violet had mentioned, Gluttony was the strongest out of them all, and he had not made a single move against him.
Nonetheless, Neraxis finished chatting with those around him, then grabbed Evangeline's hand.
He glanced at Violet, and with a hesitant look, grabbed her hand as well.
With that, they vanished, and not even a moment later, reappeared in a completely different world.
It was more vegetated than his main world, but the gravity was roughly the same.
But the world was pretty much devoid of life, all except one person who stood in front of them.
It was none other than the Sovereign of Envy.
"I'm glad you could make it," Envy said with open arms. "I had hoped I was the first, so am I?"
"Your world is just easier to imagine," Neraxis replied flatly.
"Ah... pity," Envy grumbled, turning to Violet. "Should I say I'm not surprised? You were there the last time I arrived, and now you're helping the one who killed two of us already."
Envy sighed. "But I guess power doesn't mean as much to you as it does to us. After all, you have those giant breasts and sparkly eyes to compensate."
A moment of silence ensued, which was soon broken by Violet's giggling.
"You're not wrong. That is quite literally the epitome of what I am," she added, narrowing her eyes. "But don't get it twisted. We've lived long enough to see stars bloom, and now we should perish so we can fulfill our ultimate purpose."
Neraxis's brows furrowed. "The what now?"
"Hahaha..." Envy let out a laugh. "You really are something, aren't you? Do you seriously think if we all die, then 'that' will happen?"
What are these two—
<I felt like I was resonating with Violet,> Raguel said out of nowhere. <By that, I mean she's just like me.>
Hmm...? Just like you? You mean a system? Neraxis asked, puzzled. She's standing there, no? You, on the other hand, are inside my mind.
<Well, sure. But I can also get a body if you make me one,> Raguel replied. <In her case, she's like a shattered remnant whose strength is constantly being reduced. Basically, I think something is going to happen once all those Sovereign fuckers die.>
Hearing that, Neraxis turned to Violet warily.
But since he had a more pressing issue at hand to deal with, he flicked his fingers, causing the gravity surrounding Envy to increase.
It increased by so much, in fact, that the entire planet shifted and split apart.
Before the core of the planet could explode, Neraxis covered it in his Void domain, stabilizing it.
Then, he glanced back at Envy, who was looking at him with a shocked expression.
"You're... a bit more powerful than I expected," Envy muttered. "I guess it's no surprise you managed to kill Wrath."
A faint grin appeared on his face. "But tell me... what is it that you... hm?"
<The Sovereign of Envy has tried to gauge your emotions!><Successfully resisted!>
"Beats me, I'm just as confused as you are," Neraxis remarked with a chuckle as he approached Envy.
He was lying on the ground, flattened by the gravity.
Neraxis was a bit puzzled at how easy it was. After all, Envy was definitely resisting as the gravity kept changing around him.
However, it was almost as if he was way too weak to actually escape.
So with that in mind, Neraxis let out a sigh, raised his foot, then stomped downward.
Blood splattered everywhere as the ground cracked again, parting the world itself.
Even his Void domain had come undone, so as the planet was about to explode, he appeared in front of Evangeline and Violet before teleporting away to another world entirely.
It was a tropical world, and one he randomly thought of, so it was nothing special.
The reason it was devoid of life was simply because of the miasma in the air, which would affect most people.
Of course, not them.
He turned to Violet, whose complexion paled slightly.
"Is he dead?" Neraxis asked.
She nodded weakly. "Y-Yes... apologies for my current state. I didn't expect him to be killed... that easily."
It seemed like she was going through something mentally, and only then did Neraxis remember that these Sovereigns were like her siblings.
But for the sake of some sort of greater goal, she was willing to have them killed off.
Since killing Envy was so easy, he decided to take a few minutes' break before moving on to Greed, then Sloth, and finally, Gluttony.
But in the meantime...
"Violet." Neraxis called out, a slight frown appearing on his face.
"Tell me the real reason you're helping us, or I will make sure you don't get something as pleasant as death."
