Chapter 44 Invitation_2
Of course, they didn't really have any standing in the matter, purely watching the excitement with the mindset that the bigger the commotion, the better.
Mr. Ross's expression soured as he witnessed this scene. Recently, as the company continued to grow, he had gained a strong sense of achievement and his vanity had been greatly satisfied. He had come to view himself as one with the company.
Although he despised the Great Demon King, he had to admit that the figure had spared him many difficulties and provided him with an excellent platform.
"Miss Elizabeth, I've spotted our schoolmates," Ize spoke up.
"That's normal. Every year around this time, quite a few people from Lucas University come here," Miss Elizabeth replied, including some top geniuses; it was a rare trial ground.
"Mr. Ross, the Royal Family will hold a banquet on the day before the Lune Festival, and I would like to invite you to attend," Miss Elizabeth said to Mr. Ross. Every year, on the day before the Lune Festival, the Royal Family would host a dinner, inviting nobles and ministers to the feast.
This banquet was a large gathering. In addition to the nobles and ministers, some distinguished individuals from Lucas Star also had the opportunity to attend.
Now that Miss Elizabeth had invited Mr. Ross to attend, he was stunned for a moment, feeling a little overwhelmed by the honor.
He understood the significance of this dinner.
"Miss Elizabeth, is it really appropriate?" Mr. Ross asked.
"Mr. Ross, this dinner will invite some outstanding figures. As the founder of Blue Star Energy Technology Group, you are fully qualified to attend this banquet. At the dinner, you can also meet many people with whom you might do business in the future," Miss Elizabeth explained.
Mr. Ross felt tempted; indeed, it was a very good opportunity.
"In that case, I will definitely honor the invitation on time," Mr. Ross nodded, his heart stirring with the prospect of attending a Royal banquet.
The elevation of his status was something he found somewhat unfamiliar.
Ize and Carter had some thoughts of their own. In truth, the person Miss Elizabeth should have invited was Xu Mo. However, given Xu Mo's personality, he probably wouldn't attend. The two had roughly figured out Xu Mo's character; he seemed to prefer working behind the scenes.
Whether in founding the company or teaching them, he did not want to be known.
Nor did anyone know about his identity as a Mecha Master.
"Mr. Ross, could you invite Mr. Hunter, who fought last time, to battle again? That way, we could make it into the peak duel. With Mr. Hunter's strength plus our weapons, there's a chance to achieve great success on the day of the duel. I'll try to have this Mech battle broadcast during the banquet," Miss Elizabeth proposed.
Mr. Ross was intrigued by Miss Elizabeth's words; she wanted the Royal Family and the nobles to be aware of Blue Star Energy Technology Group, which was indeed a fine opportunity.
If they made a striking impression, it could also enhance her status within the Royal Family as a shareholder.
A princess of the Royal Family who had built a foundation while still at school was naturally a point in her favor.
"Alright, I'll try," Mr. Ross responded.
Miss Elizabeth grew even more curious upon hearing Mr. Ross's words. Just trying?
Even Mr. Ross could not guarantee that he could extend an invitation to Hunter.
That Mecha Master known as Hunter appeared to be very mysterious.
Who could he be?
The astute Miss Elizabeth did not pry further; she had already asked once before. If Mr. Ross wanted to share, he would naturally tell her, but since he had not, she understood.
She would find out sooner or later.
"Will Mr. Hunter be confident in achieving good results in that peak duel? It will feature many top individuals, including top Transcendents from various universities, and even individuals from other planets might appear in this peak duel," Carter asked tentatively.
He and Mr. Ross both knew that Xu Mo was the Mecha Master, but Carter was unsure of Xu Mo's true level of skill when it came to piloting a mecha.
In the previous confrontation, Xu Mo had completely overwhelmed Lynn and had not expended much effort against Kaman either.
"I'm not quite sure," Mr. Ross spoke up, "However, this duel is being heavily promoted, with viewership not only confined to the Mechanical God Arena. Many in the capital will be watching this pinnacle duel from their homes. If Mr. Hunter participates and achieves a good result, I believe it will be greatly beneficial for our group's promotion."
The Great Demon King should agree, right?
After all, Mr. Ross knew very well that when it came to his own interests, the Great Demon King wouldn't be vague in the slightest.
"Indeed, I'm very much looking forward to it," Carter nodded. If Xu Mo were to participate, he would certainly watch as well.
The group left the area and returned to their residence in the Mechanical God Arena, where they had rented an entire building.
"Ye Xi, are you okay?" Fu Yuan asked Ye Xi, who had been fiercely attacked on the battlefield.
"It's nothing serious," Ye Xi replied, though her voice sounded weak.
"Our weapons are good, but the defensive armor hasn't kept up with the weaponry. It needs to be upgraded in sync," Stark Hao said.
"Yes, after the Lune festival, we'll need to look into hiring more professionals," Mr. Ross agreed, as their company was not short on funds.
......
At home, Xu Mo watched the battle video sent by Mr. Ross.
In the battle, Ye Xi and the people from Blue Star Energy Technology Group had been targeted and cornered, resulting in their injured retreat from the field.
Moreover, this wasn't an isolated case; Mr. Ross had mentioned before that their Blue Star Energy Technology Group had recently been facing very obvious targeting.
The communicator vibrated, and Xu Mo checked the information sent by Mr. Ross. It was about some Mechanical Groups targeting them. Apparently, these groups had come to some sort of tacit agreement: whenever Blue Star Energy Technology Group's people appeared, they would be the first ones to be taken down.
"Mechanical Bodies?"
Xu Mo looked at the information of one company and then called Mr. Ross to inquire about some details.
He then revealed an odd expression.
One of the Mechanical Groups targeting him turned out to be established by the Lancelot Star People.
The Mechanical Bodies of Lancelot Star had quite a few fans on Lucas Star, especially at the A-grade level, where their products had a high cost-performance ratio.
As the headquarters of the Star System Alliance and one of its most important members, the capital of Lucas Star was a hub for humans from various planets.
This naturally included those from Lancelot Star, as well as Camp Star and Krusu Star, which currently occupied Byron Star.
However, since Xu Mo's arrival on Lucas Star, he had been studying at Lucas University and focusing on development. He had not considered making contact with people from these planets, as there was no need given his insufficient strength.
He even suspected that among Lucas University's student body, there might be students from these major star systems, though they might not necessarily recognize the name Xu Mo.
After all, the war on Byron Star spanned across planets. The militaries of Lancelot Star and Camp Star had heard of Xu Mo, but on their home turf, there might not be many who knew his name. That would be different if he had fought on their planets. In that case, they might all be aware of his existence.
Of course, even so, it was best not to be too ostentatious. Having Mr. Ross act as a spokesperson was a very suitable choice. Xu Mo's name would not appear among the shareholders of the Blue Star Energy Technology Group.
Mr. Ross, Ize, Carter, Miss Elizabeth, Sorey, Yekaterina, plus a team—this lineup was a pure Lucas Star-based major conglomerate, backed by the Royal Family and the nobility.
"I will participate in the Arena competition," Xu Mo sent a message back to Mr. Ross, who breathed a sigh of relief.
Somehow, with the Great Demon King entering the battle, he felt an extraordinary sense of reassurance.
It seemed that, unknowingly, he had also come to believe that there was nothing the Great Demon King couldn't accomplish!
