Chapter 675: Chapter 675: I Will Kill You (Bonus Chapter 4)
The one million dollars from last year was not a pleasant memory for Matthew. An event that made him feel like he'd hit rock bottom in his pursuit of women was bound to be a painful one. Karolina Kurkova glanced at Matthew again, her grip on the napkin tightening. The thought of actually handing over a million dollars made her heart ache.
After all, even in her peak earning years, her annual income never exceeded five million dollars.
That million dollars was long gone, spent without a second thought. Easy money is easily spent, and to fill that gap now, she'd have to dig into her own pocket.
In the past, a million dollars wouldn't have been a huge deal, but things were different now. Who knows when her modeling career would regain its former glory?
The contracts she had with those international brands included termination clauses, with body shape being one of the most stringent requirements. In the several terminations that happened this year, she didn't receive any severance pay.
In fact, the only reason those brands didn't make her pay a penalty was that her condition was due to illness. If it had been caused by overeating, she would have been liable for damages.
"Matthew, give me an account number." Though it pained her, Karolina said, "I'll return the million dollars to you."
Hearing this, Matthew thought for a moment, then typed a string of numbers into his phone and handed it to Karolina. She quickly noted it down, smiling as she said, "I'll transfer it to you later."
Matthew nodded without any courtesy. He wasn't a saint.
Karolina stared at Matthew across the table. She was about to give him a million dollars—wasn't that worth something in return?
After a brief pause, Matthew said, "I'll help you get the cover girl role."
Upon hearing this, a trace of disappointment crossed Karolina's face. The cover girl role had too little screen time; what she really wanted was the role of Scarlett, the Red-Headed Woman.
Even without Matthew's help, she felt she had a good chance of getting the cover girl part.
Matthew noticed the change in Karolina's expression and knew that her goal in seeking him out was far beyond just landing a cover girl role.
But a million dollars wouldn't buy her the second female lead in a major film.
Matthew had always taken his roles seriously and wouldn't easily promise anyone a part. Even a simple eye-candy role had its standards.
Karolina wasn't foolish; otherwise, she wouldn't engage in such high-end paid services. It didn't take her long to realize she had overlooked something.
From a certain perspective, that million dollars didn't even count as a real offer.
According to her own logic, that million dollars already belonged to Matthew. Using his money to make him do something? Biting her lip, she quickly made a decision.
"Matthew, can you help me get the role of Scarlett, the Red-Headed Woman?" Karolina, eager to change her current situation, spoke directly. "I really need this role."
Matthew looked at her but said nothing.
If she were Adriana Lima or Gisele Bündchen, given their pleasant interactions, he might have been willing to help them out.
But Karolina Kurkova? Since she charged for her services, naturally, she would need to offer something in return.
They had crossed paths directly last year and knew each other well enough.
After a brief silence, Karolina added, "Matthew, you're always welcome at the Four Seasons Hotel." Reflecting on her earlier words, she added, "I won't joke around like last year."
Matthew remained silent, seemingly unmoved by Karolina's offer.
Karolina had faced significant setbacks in her career this year and was in dire need of a comeback. Since she was willing to engage in such transactions, she wasn't afraid to offer more.
"If you can help me get the role of Scarlett, the Red-Headed Woman," Karolina decided, no longer hesitating, and said softly, "My door will always be open to you from now until *G.I. Joe* is released."
She glanced at Matthew and added, "I have great stamina and flexibility. You can do whatever you want, and we can play all sorts of games..."
At this point, Karolina lowered her voice and whispered a few words with special meaning to Matthew.
Matthew folded his hands on the table. He wasn't a saint, and some of those special games sounded quite interesting.
For instance, what Nina Dobrev could offer was something no ordinary actress or model could compare to.
Since the Czech supermodel in front of him had made such an offer, and it was a free ride, why not give it a try?
Of course, all of this was contingent on not compromising his interests.
Being a pragmatic and self-serving individual, he knew how to make the right choices.
So, Matthew slowly said, "KK, I can't promise you'll definitely get the role of Scarlett, the Red-Headed Woman."
It was the truth; he had only seen Karolina walk the runway and had no idea how she would perform in a film.
Karolina could tell that Matthew wasn't finished, so she kept silent.
Matthew continued, speaking slowly, "You've auditioned for the crew, so you should know that Scarlett is a trophy role. Such roles don't require much acting skill."
"This type of role places more emphasis on appearance, right?" Karolina said softly.
"Exactly." Matthew smiled. "KK, I'll speak to the crew and ensure you get on the audition list for Scarlett. You can then go to the audition."
Karolina nodded gently.
Matthew added, "I have the right to suggest actors to the crew, but I don't have the final say. I'll speak with director Stephen Sommers."
At this, Karolina finally let out a sigh of relief. Matthew had accepted her terms and was willing to help.
"You'll need to meet the basic requirements at the audition; that's a prerequisite," Matthew warned, laying everything out. "I believe the audition for Scarlett is in two weeks. You should start preparing."
Karolina nodded again. Although she hadn't acted in a Hollywood movie before, she knew enough about the industry to understand that anyone who promises a role upfront is probably a liar.
Matthew's detailed breakdown made him far more credible.
Matthew was genuinely interested in the games Karolina had suggested. He wasn't just making empty promises. His good reputation in such transactions was why he had managed to attract many beautiful women with little effort.
He wasn't about to ruin everything for one woman.
There were still countless conquests waiting for him in the future.
"What should I do to prepare?" Karolina asked.
Matthew thought for a moment before replying, "Have your agent find a professional military trainer for you. Use the time before the audition for some basic military training." After a brief pause, he added, "You've had model training and have been working out for years, so your flexibility is a strong point. Make sure to highlight that during the audition."
Karolina took note of everything and then suggested, "Matthew, why don't we continue this conversation somewhere else? Maybe at the Four Seasons?"
"Sure," Matthew agreed without hesitation.
They quickly left the restaurant, and after Karolina got into Matthew's Mercedes G-Class SUV, he started the car and headed straight for the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.
In the dark of night, in a spacious suite, with red ropes, round cork balls, flickering candles, and a tall, slender supermodel—conditions were perfect for a man to let loose.
Although Karolina had gained some weight recently, she had mostly recovered and was no longer as gaunt as last year.
Sometimes, being skin and bones wasn't a good thing.
With Karolina, Matthew didn't hold back at all.
So, when he left her suite early the next morning, Karolina was sprawled out on the long sofa, seemingly unable to get up for the rest of the day.
The King of Sparta was best known for his long spear, a weapon that could rout any enemy, leaving them defenseless and wailing in despair.
As long as Karolina met the audition requirements, he would help her get the role. However…
*G.I. Joe* wouldn't be released for another year, and Matthew was looking forward to it. Some of the most memorable scenes he had seen in films could certainly be recreated with Karolina.
As he exited the room and entered the elevator, Matthew thought about retrieving his Mercedes SUV from the hotel's underground parking.
The elevator descended, and Matthew, reflecting on Karolina's recent experiences, suddenly had an epiphany.
But it wasn't sympathy for Karolina. Rather, it was a realization that extreme dieting and rapid weight loss were really harmful to one's health. A woman barely 24 years old entering "menopause"? Even if she recovered, it was terrifying.
There was no way he would take on a role that required drastic weight loss or gain.
He had a long and beautiful life ahead of him—why risk his health?
The elevator stopped at the underground parking lot, and when the doors opened, Matthew shook off his thoughts and felt for his car keys in his pocket as he headed toward where he had parked his Mercedes last night.
The parking spot wasn't far from the elevator. Since it was daytime, there were fewer cars in the lot. As he turned the corner, he spotted his black SUV—and immediately his eyes widened.
There was bright red graffiti on the black car!
Though he was still too far away to see what it said, the blood-red color was incredibly striking!
Who did this? Matthew quickened his pace, walking just a few steps before he could make out the letters in the red graffiti on the black paint.
Then… he turned and sprinted back toward the elevator, dialing Brown Williams' number as he ran. "Get to the Four Seasons
Hotel immediately!"
Next, Matthew called 911!
Because the red letters clearly spelled out: *I WILL KILL YOU!
