The Reincarnated Mixture Magic Types Dragon Prince

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Awakening the Hidden Blood

A week had passed since Karen drank Kai's divine blood and became his adopted son. Though the mark of the Flame had vanished, something else had taken its place—a divine mark, gifted by Kai himself. Etched into Karen's shoulder like molten light and silver fire, the mark pulsed with strange energy.

But Karen had begun to feel… different.

Each night, he dreamed of shadowed places he'd never been. Of a great winged beast wrapped in silver chains. Of whispers coming from deep within the mark.

And today, that feeling intensified.

---

The Statues of the First

In the quiet heart of the palace garden stood the Sanctuary of the First Demigods—a marble hall ringed by towering statues of ancient heroes. Each statue glowed faintly with divine energy, keeping watch over all who passed.

Kai and Karen stood at the center of it all.

Karen turned his gaze up to the statue of Varik the Flame-Binder, one of the first demigods to ever walk the mortal realm.

"Every time I'm near these statues," Karen muttered, "the mark burns hotter. Like something's trapped… inside me."

Kai narrowed his eyes and looked at the glowing mark on Karen's shoulder.

"…You're not wrong."

Karen blinked. "What do you mean?"

"There's something sealed within your mark. I suspected it after the ritual, but it wasn't fully awakened." Kai's voice turned grave. "Until now."

Karen stepped back, stunned. "There's a seal? Inside your divine mark?"

Kai nodded. "Yes—but this one… it didn't come from me. It was buried deep within your soul long before I marked you. My divine energy just woke it up."

Karen's heart pounded. "Then what is it?"

Kai's golden eyes flickered with worry. "There's only one way to find out."

---

The Divine Seal Unlocked Room

Kai led Karen through ancient tunnels deep beneath the palace, until they reached a circular door carved from celestial gold. As Kai placed his palm on the seal, the door shuddered and opened with a soft hum.

Inside was a chamber lined with glowing golden runes. Symbols older than any known magic spiraled across the walls and floor. At the center was a raised altar made of crystalized light.

"This," Kai said, "is the Divine Seal Unlocked Room. A place where sealed legacies can be revealed in full."

Karen looked around, stunned. "I didn't even know this existed."

"Few do," Kai replied. "Now kneel. It's time."

Karen stepped forward, took a breath, and knelt before the altar.

Kai closed his eyes and raised his hands.

Ancient words spilled from his lips like flowing rivers of power.

> "Revelare Sanctum... Libera Verum Sanguinem… Ostende Formam Interioris…"

A blinding light enveloped the room.

Karen gasped as his body was lifted into the air.

His divine mark erupted into radiant symbols—then shattered.

---

The Transformation

Karen's body began to shift midair.

His arms stretched into talons. Wings burst from his back, dark as the void and lined with silver flame. His skin darkened into scales of deep black, shimmering with metallic silver under the light.

His right eye turned pure gold.

His left eye turned pure black.

He roared, and the room trembled.

When the light finally faded, Karen landed softly, no longer fully human—but no mindless beast either.

He was something new.

Something ancient.

Kai stared, stunned. "By the Goddess… You're…"

Karen looked down at his claws, then at the faint mist of shadow curling around his wings.

"What… happened to me?"

---

Black Shadow and Divine Blood

Kai slowly approached, his expression full of awe.

"You're… a hybrid," he whispered. "A part of you belongs to the Divine Dragonborn, just like me. But the other half…"

Kai trailed off, and his voice dropped.

"…is Black Shadow Dragonborn."

Karen blinked. "I've never heard of that race."

"No one has," Kai said softly. "Not for over 100,000 years."

Karen's breath caught. "That long?"

Kai nodded. "Black Shadow Dragonborn were once masters of the Shadow Magic type. Not Darkness… Shadow. They could walk through shadows, manipulate them, disappear in one place and appear in another. They were the perfect assassins… but also protectors in silence."

Karen's eyes widened. "So that's why I keep… sensing shadows. Even during the day."

"Exactly," Kai confirmed. "Shadow Magic wasn't evil. It was forgotten. Their bloodline was lost to history. No one survived… or so we thought."

He stepped closer and placed a hand on Karen's scaled shoulder.

"Until now."

---

The Power Within

Karen closed his golden and black eyes, focusing on the sensation in his blood.

It was like two rivers flowing through his veins—one pure and radiant, the other cool and silent.

One Divine. One Shadow.

He raised his clawed hand, and a sliver of shadow stretched from his palm like a ribbon, then turned into a glowing spear of silver fire.

He blinked in surprise. "That… was effortless."

Kai grinned. "You just summoned a hybrid spell—Shadowlight Spear. That shouldn't even be possible."

Karen looked overwhelmed. "So what does this mean? What am I now?"

Kai stood tall beside him.

"You're the first of a lost bloodline reborn. A Divine Shadow. You carry the magic of both balance and stealth. Light and shadow. Creation and death."

Karen asked quietly, "Does that mean I'm more dangerous than the others?"

Kai shook his head.

"No. It means you're more important."

---

A Path Yet Unknown

As they exited the chamber, Karen looked up at the starry sky with both awe and uncertainty.

"I don't know what I'm meant to do now," he admitted.

Kai smiled gently.

"You're not meant to do anything yet. Just grow. Discover your power. And when the time comes, you'll know."

Karen nodded slowly, wings folding behind him.

He now understood that the seal within him had always been a part of who he was.

Not a curse.

Not a burden.

But a legacy waiting to awaken.
