The Regressor’s Younger Brother’s Insanity

Chapter 11: The Left Guardian's Loyalty

After the warriors from Noctvain arrived, they killed all the cultists. Only two were left alive, the branch leader and Bogura, the strongest in the branch.

They also rescued the slaves and others who were being tortured.

To the survivors, they said that Aether Noctvain had saved them and that this was a planned raid on the base.

They kept the truth about Aether being tortured.

As the rightful heir and successor of the Noctvain bloodline, his honor had to be protected.

After everything was over, they traveled to a nearby village called Windmere and handed the rescued victims over to the Imperial Army.

Once the handover was complete, they began moving toward the nearest teleport waypoint.

Teleport waypoints are ancient runes scattered across the land. They appear as magical portals that link to one another, allowing fast travel between distant places.

They were heading there to quickly return to the Noctvain Estate.

* * *

On the way to the teleport waypoint, two carriages were surrounded by many warriors on horseback.

These two carriages had been taken from Windmere Village.

In the front carriage, Aether and the left guardian sat facing each other.

Aether stared intently at the left guardian.

Feeling his gaze, the left guardian looked away awkwardly.

I'm sorry... I trusted them rather than you, Aether thought, his eyes filled with regret.

In his past life,

After learning that the prophecy was a lie, Aether was consumed by rage and began planning how to avenge his brother.

At that time, the left guardian had warned him, saying that his companions were acting suspicious.

But Aether, blinded by trust and unwilling to doubt them, ignored the left guardian's words.

In the end, Aether killed a celestial being .

Suddenly, he lost all his mana, without knowing that the Heavenly Principle, though it should have been asleep, had sealed it.

In that vulnerable state, his companions turned against him and attacked. It felt like they had been waiting for that moment. Like they already knew it would happen.

He would have died then, but the left guardian fought and bought him time to escape.

As Aether was running away, he looked back and saw something unbelievable.

The left guardian's head had been severed.

But the left guardian's decapitated body didn't fall. It kept moving. His headless body continued to perform sword arts with precision and power.

He was in the Sword God Realm and in that final moment, he broke through his limits and entered the Life and Death Realm, just one stage below the Celestial Beings.

It was the same martial realm Aether had reached in his past life, when he was known as the strongest in the continent.

His bloodline had waited 1,200 years for Aether. And now, he was carrying out their destined task.

The left guardian's ancestor, Ryn, had been saved by the founding patriarch of the Noctvain family.

Ryn wanted to serve him as his master, but he was too weak to be of help.

Then, a mysterious being appeared and offered to help. That being shared its mana with Ryn, making him strong enough to serve the founding patriarch of Noctvain.

A prophecy was passed down through generations, and the prophesied person was Aether.

The left guardian was overwhelmed with emotions , for the man his bloodline had been waiting for had finally appeared, and at a time when he could serve him.

He was so obsessed with serving him that even in death, his body moved on its own, faithfully carrying out its destined task.

This wasn't loyalty.

This was madness.

Seeing that loyalty, Aether felt a deep sense of guilt. He stood frozen as the left guardian's headless body continued to fight.

Then other Celestial Beings came and surrounded Aether.

Even as Aether was pinned down, his eyes never left the left guardian's headless body.

All Aether felt was rage and regret.

But now, in his second life, the left guardian was still alive.

Aether finally had the chance to repay that unwavering loyalty, and protect him.

'For him, I will become the lord worthy of his loyalty.' Aether's desire to right his past regrets grew stronger.

His life had been filled with betrayal. Everyone he knew and loved had turned against him.

Only the people of Noctvain had truly seen him as their leader, and died for his foolishness.

In this life,i will kill those bastards...i will wipe out their entire bloodline...I will bathe in their blood...Those who took everything away from me...those bastards who killed my loved ones, who deceived my brother...I will kill you all...just you wait...

For I am Bloodborne, and I will dye this world in blood...

While he was lost in thought, his murderous intent surged uncontrollably, spilling into the air and suffocating everything around him.

There were 172 warriors accompanying him including mages.

Every single one of them lost consciousness under the weight of his murderous intent. Foam dripped from their mouths as they were brutally suffocated.

The left guardian was no different; he was barely managing to stay conscious. He was also shocked to see a fifteen-year-old boy unleash such a powerful killing intent.

"Young...master" he called out to Aether, but he was lost in thoughts.

How could he unleash such deadly killing intent when he is merely fifteen? Even in the martial realm, I am at the Unrestrained realm while he is only at Sword Master. So why am I the one struggling to breathe? Why?

No, the real question is: how can a mere human unleash such deadly killing intent?

Then, the left guardian gathered his thoughts, infused mana into his voice, and shouted, "Young master! "

At the left guardian's strong cry, Aether jolted back from his thoughts.

But what he saw made his eyes widen in shock.

The carriage's ceiling had been blown off, and all the warriors were knocked unconscious including the horses . Even the left guardian was sweating.

"What happened, left guardian!?" he asked, not knowing what he had done.
