Chapter 2620: Escalating Intensity



As the battle raged on, the Bodhisattvas were unable to keep their incredulity to themselves. "That technique..." one Bodhisattva murmured out of the earshot of the two Martial Artists.

"There's no doubt of it," Bodhisattva Maitreyi smiled. "It is an offensive version of the Yin- Yang Shield. He has managed to crack the principles of our secret technique and leverage its principles for an offensive version."

The other Bodhisattvas grew stunned that a Master of all people managed to crack their legendary technique and deploy its principles for himself.

"He seems a lot less impressive than the rumors say," Bodhisattva Pinaka couldn't help but utter.

Bodhisattva Maitreyi knew better, however.

"He's merely testing her."

Her words surprised the other Bodhisattva as they came to the realization that they had come across a Martial Master who was beyond their fathoming.

For the second time.

"He's full of surprises," Bodhisattva Maitreyi remarked appreciatively. "He's doing well against Amare as well. But..."

A knowing look appeared in her eyes.

"Will he be able to draw out the immense power shackled deep within her?"

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!

Rui blasted her with the tremendous blows of Yin-Yang Spears.

And yet, she calmly blocked all of them with a static guard. The sheer solidity of her defense was truly stunning, considering that she wasn't even actively deploying any high principles in her defense.

Even though he had shut down Hypertrophic Surge, the Yin-Yang Spear wasn't something that could be defended against so easily under normal circumstances.

And yet, that wasn't all she was capable of.

WHOOSH

She evaded a powerful hook, stepping forward with a devastatingly powerful attack aimed right at his ribs.

WHOOSH

An attack that Rui had already dodged, having foreseen it well before it came. A swift kick flew to her chin, seeking to knock her out then and then.

Unfortunately, her reflexes were out of this world.

WHOOSH

She ducked lightly, evading the blow while she threw a barrage of blindingly fast attacks of tremendous power.

That, too, was within his prediction.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!!!

Not a single one of them struck him.

Rui surged forward as his eyes remained fixed on her.

On her future and her SOUL.

He saw the vulnerabilities in her guard and her position.

He saw the vulnerabilities that were yet to come.

That was what he attacked.

He did not attack the present.

No.

With the power of the VOID algorithm and the SOUL System, he attacked the future.

And yet, not even that was enough to overwhelm Amare.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOOSH!!!

She evaded having her eyes gouged by the thinnest, and yet, her movements were so fast that Rui couldn't even follow them in the present.

Her reflexes and raw speed were even greater than Kane's Fulminata and Realm of Lightning, reaching an echelon that Rui didn't even know existed within the Master Realm.

They were able to negate the advantage that Rui had with this predictive and SOUL models. Not even the immense foresight and insight that his system of thought offered him were able to compensate for the sheer amount of natural power, durability, and speed that she possessed.

And yet, a sincere smile emerged on his face.

One that matched the one that Amare was wearing on her face the entire time.

"Time to step it a notch."

Her eyes widened as time sped up in her vision.

The entire world went out of control!

A single whisper escaped Rui before the onslaught began.

"Temporal Disharmony."

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

Rui blasted her with endless barrages of blows as she balled up into a defensive stance while Rui ravaged her body with endless Yin-Yang Spears. For once, the smile on her face was gone, replaced with an expression of discomfort and pain.

And yet, Rui didn't relent.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

The vibrations and yin and yang flowed through his body as he channeled their energy in a converging harmony to release an impact of tremendous magnitude. Although she guarded her vital well, she was unable to stop him from ravaging her body with Yin-Yang Spears.

Until she decided to stop holding back, of course.

CLASP

Rui's eyes widened as she effortlessly caught his fist.

For a moment, nothing happened.

She turned to him with a sincere smile.

"You are really strong!"

Chills crawled across his skin at her words as he struggled to release his hand from her grip.

It was too late.

BOOOOOM!!!!!

One hand held his hand while the other blasted him with a tremendous blow that far

surpassed others she had thrown.

The sheer impact of the strike was so great that it launched him across the battle arena, cracking his bones with a tremendous impact. Rui's expression grew stunned even as he activated Weaving Blood, healing all the damage his arms had taken.

If not for the spontaneous Heavenly Convergence that he applied on her to limit her strength,

he would have suffered much greater damage from her.

And yet, she didn't give him so much as a second to breathe, appearing a moment later.

It was within his prediction.

WHOOSH

He evaded her blow, side-stepping it effortlessly.

And yet, the moment he did, he found himself running face-to-face into a kick.

She had predicted his evasion, setting up the attack.

BOOOM!!!

Rui skidded away, barely managing to block it as he experienced a chilling sense of deja vu. Unfortunately, she had already reached him, unleashing a barrage of blows, one after

another.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!!!

He barely managed to evade her attacks, much to his own surprise. Despite using Temporal Disharmony on her as well as having both the VOID algorithm and the SOUL System on her, he was unable to remain to avoid her attacks as easily.

Yet, he knew he couldn't allow her to maintain such a powerful initiative.

WHOOSH!

He ducked in the face of a powerful palm attack from Amare, successfully evading her attack.

Only to find that a second attack had already reached him.

It had reached him even before he himself had gotten there.

She had predicted him yet again.

BOOOM!!!

The powerful blow crashed into his guard, launching him away.
