The Mafia Marriage Contract

Chapter 47: Chapter: The First Strike

The days that followed were filled with strategy and preparation. Sofia worked tirelessly, digging into the Red Syndicate's operations, while Lorenzo reinforced security and reached out to their most trusted allies. Dante, however, knew that defense alone wouldn't be enough.

He had to take the first strike.

A breakthrough came when Sofia uncovered a crucial lead—an offshore bank in Switzerland that funneled the Syndicate's dirty money, operated under the name Voltaire Holdings. If they could cut off their finances, they could weaken them from within.

Dante called a meeting in his study. The air was thick with anticipation as he outlined the plan.

"Sofia, I want every detail on Voltaire Holdings—who runs it, who guards it, and how we get inside," Dante ordered.

Sofia smirked. "Already ahead of you. The man in charge is Viktor Laskin, an ex-Russian intelligence officer. Security is tight, but I have an entry point. Their systems get a full reboot every Wednesday at midnight. That's when their firewall is weakest."

Lorenzo nodded. "So we hit them Wednesday night."

Dante turned to Viper. "Can you get a team in place?"

Viper's lips curled into a wicked grin. "Consider it done."

Amelia, who had been listening intently, finally spoke. "We're crippling them financially, but they won't take it lightly. If we do this, we have to be prepared for their retaliation."

Dante met her gaze, his voice unwavering. "Let them come."

Wednesday Night – Zurich, Switzerland

The heist was executed with precision. Viper's team infiltrated the facility, disabling the security feed and planting a virus that wiped out the Syndicate's accounts. By the time the guards realized what was happening, Voltaire Holdings was nothing more than an empty shell.

A single message was left on their servers:

"Balance restored. – Moretti."

The Red Syndicate had been struck at their core. And Dante knew—they would strike back.

Back in Italy – The Cost of War

Two days later, the retaliation came.

A convoy transporting one of Moretti's key allies was ambushed. Three men were killed, and a message was sent directly to Dante's estate—a bloodied playing card, pinned to the chest of the fallen.

It was an escalation. One that Dante had anticipated.

He stood before his men, his presence commanding. "We don't run. We don't hide. We finish what we started."

Lorenzo placed a file in front of him. "Then it's time you see this."

Inside were documents detailing the Syndicate's hierarchy. At the top sat a name that made Dante's blood run cold.

Niccolò Vasquez.

A man Dante once thought was dead. A ghost from his past.

Amelia caught the flicker of recognition in his expression. "You know him," she said.

Dante closed the file, his jaw tightening. "I do."

This wasn't just a war for his empire anymore. It was personal.

And he would end it...
