Chapter 64: Unbound Zenith
The storm of lightning and sand had barely cleared when Toku raised his glaive to the sky, its prismatic edge humming with otherworldly force. The divine energy from his body surged upward in a spiral of blinding white and refracted colors.
He lowered his head. His eyes glowed white, yet rivers of tears trailed down his cheeks--pain still reaching through even the divinity. A god who remembered suffering.
Then, the chant, like a choir of a hundred echoes:
"Stars above, winds below..."
"...light the path with what you owe..."
"...cut the dark, release the fall--AND HEED MY CALL!"
"SHAPED BY DESTINY!"
A beacon of radiance erupted from the tip of his glaive, splitting the sky with a column of searing light. The battlefield was washed in gold and pale blue. All darkness--shadows, curses, voodoos--burned away, and Yunoi gasped as her wounds rapidly sealed, breath returning to her lungs.
"T-Toku...?" she whispered, her voice trembling at the divine sight.
He didn't answer. He stood unmoving and focused, with the beacon still rising behind him.
Across the arena, Apollo's fingers danced across his radiant harp.
"Let this melody transcend!" he chanted.
Waves of celestial sound struck Mercury--filling him with enhanced speed, strength, and purpose.
Venus and Diana, still conscious, chanted in unison--casting high-tier divine enchantments. Mercury's form surged with power, his eyes glowing white-gold as wind and flame circled his fists.
A divine, unstoppable force began to manifest--one that gods feared and mortals would be crushed beneath.
But where Mercury stood--a perfect line extended backward through the remaining gods.
Toku raised his glaive again. It floated from his hands and began to enlarge, three times its size, hovering above him like a burning constellation.
His voice dropped--no longer just his own:
"With these chains broken... I now command you--
Spread your wings... for your time ends here..."
"UNBOUND ZENITH!"
The glaive surged forward like a comet. Mercury sprinted to meet it.
Two blurs--light and god-flesh--collided.
BOOM.
A nova of light and nebula erupted from their impact, crashing outward in waves of force.
Ceri, Gem, Apollo, Venus, and Diana were all blasted away, their bodies hurling into the walls of the coliseum. Shields cracked. Echoes screamed. Energy surged and dissipated like a star's final breath.
When the light finally dimmed...
Only two figures stood.
Toku, unmoving, eyes still glowing but dimming...
Mercury, fists raised... trembling.
Then--
Cracks appeared on Mercury's gauntlets.
They shattered into dust, and with them, his strength.
The god's knees buckled, and his body dropped to the ground, unconscious.
Toku took a single breath...
Then collapsed.
But... someone still stood.
Through the smoke, untouched, Hoshina lowered her lance. She had planted it in the ground moments before, shielding herself from the fallout with precision only she could execute.
She exhaled softly, walking forward as wind passed through her indigo hair.
Everyone had fallen.
But she knew...
This wasn't the end.
It was the beginning.
She looked down at Toku, brushing his cheek with her gloved fingers.
A small smile tugged at her lips.
"To think you used to be so weak... look how far you've grown, Toku."
And as the medics rushed in, and the stadium--once in awe--now held their breath...
The name "Veyruan, The Prismatic Divinity" would echo far beyond this round.
As a new God, capable of rivaling the Makers themselves, has now started to walk up the steps where Mortals never thought were possible to even stand on.
