The Lone Dragon of China.

Team Leader Zhang lit a cigarette and stood silently by the railing. He gazed at the rushing waters below, his heart a tumult of emotions.

Soon, the reporters arrived at the scene to interview the mother. The onlookers chimed in, mostly criticizing the mother's selfishness while praising Qin Fei's bravery.

"Someone has drowned; hurry and find someone to recover the body," someone waved their hand and lamented.

At that moment, Qin Fei had already retrieved the young girl from the water. The current beneath the bridge was indeed fierce, even causing Qin Fei to be tossed about. He took a deep breath, forcibly summoned the spiritual energy of the dragon body, and managed to control the turbulent waters. Then, clutching the little girl, he swam step by step toward the shore.

"Hey, why has the water suddenly calmed down?" someone pointed at the river below.

Upon hearing this, the crowd quickly looked over and indeed saw that the water had become still, resembling a stagnant pool.

The cigarette in Team Leader Zhang's hand fell to the ground with a soft thud, and he exclaimed excitedly, "Good fortune will find a way! Good fortune will find a way!"

With that, he leaped into the river.

When he awoke again, he found himself lying on the riverbank, where Hao Chunming and Team Leader Zhang stood beside him.

"You're awake!" Seeing Qin Fei regain consciousness, the two men were quite excited, almost bending down simultaneously.

Qin Fei rubbed his head and asked, "What happened to the little girl?"

"She's fine," Team Leader Zhang replied with a smile. "She has already been taken to the hospital. As for you, with such a swift current, how did you come out unscathed?"

"Indeed, we were just about to take you to the hospital," Hao Chunming added with a grin.

Qin Fei scratched his head and stood up, saying, "I merely exhausted my strength; I'm fine as long as the child is safe."

"Tsk tsk, what a pity. The reporters wanted to interview you specifically, but I turned them down," Team Leader Zhang remarked.

Qin Fei gave him an 'OK' gesture and said, "Well done."

As time was already getting late, Qin Fei decided not to linger any longer and returned home directly.

Upon arriving, the Su family members were sitting on the sofa watching television, which just happened to be reporting on Qin Fei's heroic rescue.

"In this regard, we remind the public not to be distracted by their phones to prevent unfortunate accidents," the host's sweet voice resonated from the television.

"This young man is truly brave; that river has claimed many lives," Su Ziping remarked.

"Yes, I heard even the police were hesitant to jump in, but thankfully, no one was harmed," Su Yu said, her eyes sparkling as she focused on the screen.

This was an expression Qin Fei had never seen before, like a flame igniting in her pupils.

"Little Fei is back," Zhao Ya exclaimed upon seeing Qin Fei. She hurriedly stood up and invited him to sit on the sofa.

"You sit down first; I'll go prepare dinner. Tonight, you and your grandfather can enjoy a drink together!" Zhao Ya's excitement contrasted sharply with her usual demeanor.

Qin Fei smiled but said nothing.

The exhaustion from his exertions made him feel weary, and he settled into the sofa, reluctant to move.

Su Yu glanced at the "brave young man" on the television and then at Qin Fei, who lay motionless on the sofa. Anger flared within her.

"How did I end up with such a coward?" Su Yu took a deep breath, recalling past events.

Whenever something happened, Qin Fei would often hide behind her. Despite his recent good performance, it did little to change the impression he had left of being timid.

Every girl has a hero complex, and Su Yu was no exception.

"That young man on TV looks somewhat like our Little Fei," Su Ziping suddenly interjected.

He scrutinized Qin Fei and muttered, "What a pity he isn't dressed the same."

Qin Fei's clothes were already soaked, and on the way back, Team Leader Zhang had taken him to buy a new outfit.

Su Yu scoffed, "Him? Does he have that kind of courage?"

Qin Fei chuckled, "Indeed, you know my health isn't great. If I fell into the water, I would probably have drowned long ago."

Su Yu shot him a glance and scoffed, "If he had even half the courage of that guy, he wouldn't be cooped up at home every day."

"Hey? Is that person Team Leader Zhang and Hao Chunming?" Su Ziping pointed at the two figures on the screen.

Unfortunately, the camera quickly panned away, and Su Ziping couldn't see clearly.

During dinner, Su Ziping remarked, "I heard that dragon corpse has been dissected, and its belly was full of decayed remains—it seems it has devoured quite a few people!"

"How is that possible!" Qin Fei instinctively replied. "That dragon's scales are impenetrable; no human strength could possibly break them! As for the rumors about it eating people, it's all hearsay!"

"How do you know that?" Su Yu furrowed her brow and shot him a glance.

Qin Fei's expression shifted slightly, and he awkwardly explained, "Ah, I just happened to be at the dragon corpse site before. I thought about taking a piece of the scale home as a keepsake, but I couldn't even break it with a rock; it's incredibly hard."

"Idiot," Su Yu couldn't help but ridicule. "The government has plenty of means; how could your little rock compare? Ignorance is truly frightening."

Qin Fei stuck out his tongue, not daring to continue the conversation.

Due to his exhaustion, after dinner, Qin Fei went straight to bed.

Lying in bed, he couldn't help but sigh, "I've expended too much energy this time; it will take a while to recover."

While his body had grown considerably stronger under the influence of the spirit, the foundation was still too weak, making it difficult to restore in a short time.

The next day, when Qin Fei woke up, it was already past eleven.

He hurriedly dashed out of his room, feeling embarrassed, "I'm sorry; I overslept! Why didn't you wake me?"

Zhao Ya glared, "Am I wrong? If you don't have children soon, what will you do when you can't have them? Starting today, you two don't need to sleep apart anymore; you need to sleep together!"

Seeing the brewing argument, Qin Fei quickly reassured, "Mom, don't worry; tonight I'll make you a grandchild!"

"At least my son-in-law listens," Zhao Ya scolded with mock anger. "Hurry up and pack your things; we're going to celebrate your grandfather's birthday!"

Su Yu said nothing and slammed the door shut behind her.

Ten minutes later, Qin Fei and Su Yu were seated in the car.

"I'll tell you this: you better give up on that idea," Su Yu said coolly as she drove.

Qin Fei chuckled, "We're husband and wife; having a child is a natural obligation, isn't it?"

Upon hearing this, Su Yu abruptly slammed on the brakes.

She shot a cold glare at Qin Fei and said, "You know I don't like you. Being with someone I don't like—it's just unacceptable."

"Then what kind of man do you like?" Qin Fei raised an eyebrow and asked, "Good-looking? Capable? Wealthy?"

"You!" Su Yu was exasperated. She was about to burst into anger but reconsidered, thinking it unnecessary.

"Qin Fei, please don't reduce me to a shallow woman. What I admire are qualities in a man: bravery, confidence, humility," Su Yu stated. "And unfortunately, you lack all of those."

"None at all?" Qin Fei raised an eyebrow and leaned closer to Su Yu, saying, "What if I told you the young man who rescued that girl yesterday was actually me? Would you like me then?"

Su Yu was momentarily stunned, her heart involuntarily racing.

Then she huffed, "Impossible."

With that, she started the car.

Qin Fei smiled, not bothering to explain further.

Before long, they arrived in front of a villa, where a multitude of vehicles were already parked.

As soon as the car stopped, Qin Fei remarked, "It seems the Su family is quite well-off."

"Is this your first time visiting?" Su Yu shot him a cold glance and then, with a hint of impatience, said, "Get out!"

Once outside the car, Qin Fei suddenly spotted a familiar face—none other than Team Leader Zhang.

"Team Leader Zhang, what brings you here?" Qin Fei approached him to greet.

Upon seeing Qin Fei, Team Leader Zhang's face lit up with joy as he laughed heartily, "Your father-in-law is highly respected; this year he is celebrating his seventieth birthday, so I naturally came to join the festivities!"

"And how about you? Are you feeling alright after yesterday? You really frightened me!"
