The Invincible Full-Moon System

Chapter 1503: Focus of Attention

Nearing the Forsaken Tower, Rex asked Crimoria to explain to him the situation.

He has heard some troubling things about it and needed clarification.

Based on the soldiers' banters that he heard, the place has been a thorn city under the noble house of Aurelius' territory. Rex wanted to know the situation, to prepare himself and also the others, in case the last hunting ground wouldn't be as easy as the previous ones.

Perhaps learning more about the Singing Lady, his next prey, would be great.

Crimoria gave him what he wanted and explained the situation.

As per the briefing, the last area Rex is going to take care of is the Forsaken Tower.

The Forsaken Tower was located right beside a bubble belonging to the Mahkam Ruin, an ancient and historical place—with the natives still inhabiting it. It was the home of a great number of Voidal Monsters that resided within the area.

Power-wise, most of them ranged from Ascendant Spirit to Immortal Spirit.

But there are exceptions.

For the longest time, the native had already adapted to the tower's presence.

None of them seemed to be having a problem living with the tower so close by.

All of them knew the tower's behavior and area, thus knew the right time to get in and out of the bubble. Some, the warriors among the natives, even used the tower to train their skills—but recently, ten years ago, the Mahkam Ruin requested assistance from the noble house.

For some reason, there was a change in the Forsaken Tower's pattern and behavior.

Now, the tower unleashed a tide at an interval that devastated the surroundings.

Despite the unsettling changes, the Mahkam Ruin remained unworried, they were protected by a Gate-class Obelisk of Life. But everything shifted when the arrays sustaining the bubble suffered a sudden malfunction.

Every time the tower unleashed the tide, the bubble flickered and allowed the devastation to get inside.

Voidal Monsters inside the dark tide bled into the ruin, killing anyone that their claws could reach.

Although these Voidal Monsters were not too strong and would perish in about an hour, the natives were still having a hard time protecting themselves, mainly because this happened randomly. Or at least, they haven't figured out how to know when the dark tide will happen.

Naturally, the natives were stressed.

Not to mention, the dark tide was gradually occurring more often.

It was understandable for the natives to request help.

Due to the historical significance as well as the importance of the ruin, providing materials along with a few different crucial magical herbs—to create potions, the Aurelius Noble House sent a few teams to take care of the situation, but all of them failed.

In the process, tens of thousands of natives perished.

Came the breaking point when the leader of the ruin died after the third raid.

Once the new leader, Grant, succeeded as leader, the Mahkam Ruin turned hostile against their lords. In fact, the Mahkam Ruin has already been branded as a possible traitor. Some even considered the area near the ruin a no man's land, it was that bad.

Rex listened attentively and found the last place to be a troublesome one.

"Do the changes have something to do with the Singing Lady?" He asked.

"Most likely," Crimoria nodded. "As far as I know, the Singing Lady was dormant until recently."

"How strong are the previous teams sent to handle this?" Rex looked at Crimoria's eyes intently.

It was a detrimental question that would help him gauge his chances of succeeding.

Since this would be the last test from Great Elder Rosa, the Singing Lady must be a strong monster, one that is worthy to reward Rex with confidence from the Aurelius Noble House. Rex was expecting those teams to be composed of high-ranking Immortal Spirits.

Although he didn't think Rosa was unreasonable, she might give him an impossible task to complete.

But the truth was way worse.

"Most of them were Immortal Spirit 5, the leader is a Master Immortal Spirit." Crimoria answered.

Rex rubbed his forehead when he heard this.

Not because he was worried about himself, but he was worried about the heirs.

He might be forced to exclude the heirs from taking on the Forsaken Tower since it was too dangerous.

Just then, a few notifications appeared out of nowhere.

<Notice: Father Dominator's attention was fixed on the user!>

Rex paused for a second when a few long notifications appeared, showcasing more conditions for his sudden quest completion. However, his eyes returned back to the top and stopped at the sight of the first three notifications.

Kaiser…? Can the Lunirich Gods still make a move against me? How?

Seeing the first notification plastered a troubling frown on Rex's face.

He was sure that meddling with the Mortal Realm too much made the world exact a backlash on the Lunirich Gods—those bastards should not be able to do anything against him—for the time being. Of course, that might be the case if he were still in the Mortal Realm.

I'm in the Spirit Realm right now, maybe… maybe the Lunirich Gods have no restrictions here.

His frown deepens, this wasn't within his calculations.

Achieving triumph over the Yule Moon Lunirich God made him certain that the Lunirich Gods wouldn't be a problem for the time being, but he was too full of himself to think that. Since he was now outside of the Mortal Realm, the Lunirich Gods might be able to do something to him.

And considering that they were all Gods, they must know that he crossed realms.

Rex turned his eyes to the sky, looking directly at the moon above.

Or is this because of the approaching Blood Moon? Is his power amplified during that time?

A lot of reasons, but he didn't know which one.

But regardless, the reason wasn't important—what's important was that he needed to be extra careful.

It's Kaiser, he must be planning to attack me during the Blood Moon. I should be fine for the time being.

Glancing down at the notification below that, Rex felt his throat tighten.

Father Dominator again… Just who the heck is he and what does he want?!

Now that he had learned about Voidal Monsters from the System—paying a hefty five million gold, Rex had a good idea of how Voidal Monsters worked. As expected, the Voidal Monsters follow a hierarchical system, ascending from Pawns to Knights, Chosen Knights, Lords, Princes, and ultimately, Monarchs.

However, all of them stemmed from one specific root, like an Origin.

Each Voidal Monster came from a Voidal Monarch that created or birthed them.

Depending on the strength of the Voidal Monarch—it can have up to five Voidal Princes, commanding around 20 Voidal Lords, 50 Chosen Knights, 1,000 Knights, and thousands, if not millions Pawns. All of them are connected, like a hive mind.

Rex messed with a powerful Voidal Monarch that could even sense killing intent towards its children.

Surely, this explains how Rex came to the supposed Father Dominator's attention.

But there was a problem with that.

Countless spirits across the realm were killing Voidal Monsters in great numbers.

So there should be countless spirits who bore killing intent, towards the family tree of one Voidal Monarch. The answer still remained a mystery—as to what made Father Dominator attracted to Rex more since it now set his gaze upon him.

It was troubling.

Rex didn't need this problem, but there was nothing he could do.

Other than the attention from Father Dominator and Kaiser, there was one more problem.

I think I've never gotten anything like this before.

Another Chain Sudden Quest appeared, and it seemed to be the most troublesome.

No description, survive, only protect those three, and the penalty is death?

Rex's brows dipped further and further as he scanned the chain sudden quest—the no-description part was the most troubling for him as he didn't know what to expect because of that. Even though he already sensed that something bad was going to happen, this sets up for something worse than what he had in mind.

Since it's a Chain Sudden Quest, it should be tied to the quest regarding the test from Rosa.

But what exactly is the Rain of Black?

It was certainly not the Singing Lady since her chain sudden quest was the one above this one, this was something else. Perhaps, whatever this Rain of Black was, it would happen after he dealt with the Forsaken Tower.

And that meant this last hurdle to attain Rosa's acknowledgment would be extremely hard.

Just then, Rex snapped from his trance.

"If the Mahkam Ruin is hostile, a no man's land, are we going there blindly?" Linthia asked.

Considering that the Mahkam Ruin was hostile, angry, the thought of entering their space without any preparation seemed wrong. Despite having the heirs with them, there was no guarantee that the Mahkam Ruin's people wouldn't attack.

"No," Crimoria shook her head. "Lord Ferric already sent an envoy informing of our arrival."

"Even if they are still hostile, they wouldn't dare hurt me." Viora assured.

Upon hearing this, Linthia nodded her head.

It seemed a Priestess of Purity was so sacred that even a hostile tribe wouldn't dare to hurt her.

An hour later.

Rex peeked out of the window of the carriage and saw the Forsaken Tower for the first time.

Basing it on the notorious evil surrounding it, the actual tower was even more impressive than the tower Rex pictured in his mind. It stood like a grotesque obelisk in the heart of desolation, a pulsating beacon of azure blue and black that stained the very air around it.

Even the sky above burned in its shades as though it had been set ablaze by the tower's malice.

From its base, a suffocating aura radiated outward.

It corrupted the lain in a perfect, spherical radius.

Within this boundary, the earth was nothing but lifeless, charcoal-black terrain—cracked and brittle, as if scorched by an unrelenting inferno. Beyond this dead zone, the land struggled to reclaim itself, with spare vegetation cautiously creeping back, but never daring to grow closer.

Even the distant Voidal Monsters, moving shadows, could be seen within and surrounding the tower.

Rex could see all of this with his sharp eyes.

About half a mile from the Mahkam Ruin's bubble, it's so close.

Just as he thought of that, the door was knocked and a soldier stepped inside.

"Leader Crimoria, there is still no sign of the messenger. I don't think he will come," He reported.

Upon hearing this, Crimoria frowned.

Currently, the convoy was waiting for the messenger to inform them that approaching would be safe.

Since the messenger never came, the indication was clear.

The Mahkam Ruin was still off-limits, the natives must've killed the messenger already.

"Gather a few who are good at hiding and scout the ruin," Crimoria instructed. "Do it quickly."

"It will be done." The soldier saluted before stepping out again.

On the other hand, Rex heard this report and stared towards the bubble.

His eyes flashed with a peculiar light as a holographic wave burst forth, scanning everything in sight.

"Oh… This is interesting." Rex mused lightly.
