Chapter 4: The Elves
Jaquer put down the plate, cup, and cutlery in front of Venor and Hader.
Alys and Eres, who were confused by their own creation of the chicken broth, couldn't do much but shove the broth toward the demon and be done.
The demon carrying the pot walked ahead to serve but Jaquer stopped his strides with a hand.
"I will do it," He took the pot and went towards his priority.
Towards Hader.
He took the ladle and stirred the soup before pouring the huge chunks of chicken into her bowl and putting the bread on her plate.
Next, he turned towards Venor and intentionally poured the chicken less broth and veggies into his bowl with some bread on the plate.
While he took the rest of the food for himself to test for poison. Demons couldn't be affected by poison, so he was testing for Hader.
Of course not to annoy Venor.
He took a piece of chicken in his mouth and bit on the tender meat, and his eyes glowed with his knowledge.
Holyshit. If he knew Alys and Eres could make such a meal, he wouldn't have to spend pennies on feeding them all these years.
Again, he took the warm bread and blew on it before eating.
Nice meal. He happily ate the meal, forgetting his original task.
"Ahem," Venor gave a light signal and pointed his eyes towards Hader, who seemed to be waiting to eat her meal.
She looked at the verge of laughing while looking at Jaquer.
"Sorry for my incompetence, the food doesn't have poison, Princess Hader shall continue." Jaquer abruptly stood up from his bed and apologised with a bow.
He tiptoeingly walked away from the place and stood beside a servant demon while glaring at him for no particular reason.
The demon lowered his head and slid towards the right side, away from Jaquer.
Jaquer tilted his head to steal a glance towards Hader and Venor, not surprisingly, Hader was eating with ease, but Venor wasn't.
He was stirring his spoon mindlessly while staring at Jaquer.
"Commander Venor, is something wrong?" Jaquer asked innocently.
Demons hate veggies. Venor knew it more than anything because to punish demons or torture them, the hunter team specially carried vegetables and fed them forcefully.
With furrowed brows, but a convincing smile on his face, he approached Venor and asked, "Should I feed you, Commander?"
Hader quietly choked on her soup before leering her gaze towards the hunter and the demon.
She carefully read Venor's face before shifting to Jaquer's. And something stirred her mind.
A subtle smile appeared on her lips as she continued her meal and watched them at the same time.
While, on the other hand, Venor hesitantly looked at Jaquer, his eyes widened and face flushed, couldn't help but be shocked at the sudden arrival of Jaquer near him.
Mistaking Venor's reaction as distaste towards the food, Jaquer snatched the spoon from Venor, held his face between his index and thumb, and forcefully fed the soup.
Venor involuntarily gulped the soup as an expected turn of events, putting him in a critical position.
His demonic blood pumped against his skin and rushed downward, towards his...
The soup went in the wrong pipe, and he couldn't help but cough directly at Jaquer's face.
A few drops of saliva fell on Jaquer's face. He bit his lips with anger and scrunched his nose with disgust before filtering the veggies from the soup and directing them towards Venor's mouth.
Before Venor could react, Jaquer freed both of his hands and sealed Venor's mouth.
With his mouth filled with disgusting substance, Venor attempted to open his mouth but failed.
At last, when he remained reluctant, Jaquer closed the lids of his nose, and poor Venor was forced into eating the shit.
Satisfied with his work, Jaquer freed Venor and turned his gaze towards Hader, who seemed to be looking at them with great amusement.
Her eyes curved in a teasing manner, sadness no longer lingering on her face, she spoke, "I wish to be alone with Commander Venor."
Jaquer's excited face from annoying Venor dropped immediately after he and the demon servant left them alone at the tent.
Did he anger her? What did she need to say that couldn't be heard by him? Did she hate him? He deserved it—but not so openly!
His mind crossed several questions before the servant led him to the dishwashing area.
"Speak a word and I will cut of your balls," He threatened the servant before he could ask him to do the dishes. "Venor admitted me to be free after serving the dishes. See you all tomorrow, hopefully."
He turned away, waved his hand above his head, and walked away. But before he took a step forward from a certain circumference, he couldn't proceed further.
Huh?
He tried again, but a seemingly invisible wall seemed to be blocking him.
"Lord Servant, you are not allowed to leave before the chores are complete. You are bound to Commander, so skipping the task is inevitable."
Saying so, the servant ran away and stood a safe distance away from Jaquer.
Poor Jaquer couldn't help but tightened his finger and walked towards the cleaning area and started doing the dishes.
While his mind reeled on the thoughts of what Hader and Venor might have been talking about, his mind also tugged at the very moment of doing dishes.
An elite hunter doing dishes for demons was too insulting.
But wasn't feeding Venor feel odd from being moral?
Jaquer couldn't help but smack his head in his imagination and be done with the day.

The journey resumed just after dawn.
The trio, back with their shackles and Hader on the pilinquin, the crowd went on.
The journey was smooth until they crossed with a horse of elves.
When the demons, elves, and human meets, either one dies or all craps on the ground.
They were not direct enemies of the human but they played enough politics behind the scene to directly encounter them.
"Oh, who do we have today? Bloody demons and weak humans? What a great day to start hunting." One of the elves said before dwelling into laughter.
