The Greece Antagonist

Chapter 248: I Still Prefer Your Untamed Nature (4.7k)_3

"It's obvious, Mother really loves you."

Melinoe came back to her senses, unceremoniously giving Luo En a cold look.

"That's my mother, what does she have to do with you? Stop trying to make connections!"

"Just a moment ago, you were all 'big brother this, big brother that', and now you deny it? I'm so heartbroken."

Luo En clutched his chest, putting on a mournful expression, then pointed to the Lady of the Underworld bustling in the kitchen and spoke with a smile.

"But no matter, even if you deny it, the Lady of the Underworld will agree, she would love for me to call her mother forever."

With her real mother by her side, Melinoe, feeling a bit more confident, was just about to stand up and rebuke the shameless guy with a few harsh words.

But unexpectedly, a meaningful whisper came through, "Eat well, as this might be your last meal together."

"What do you mean?" Melinoe paused slightly, puzzled.

"Your training is finished, and the unrest in Tartarus has mostly settled down, it's about time we left."

Luo En swallowed a piece of lamb chop, elegantly wiped his mouth, and spoke solemnly.

"If you don't want to disappoint her, and you don't want to accept 'reeducation', then play along with me in this act."

After hearing this, Melinoe gave a slight nod to show her cooperation, her face uncertain.

It was unclear whether she was considering maternal affection or fearing the power of 'reeducation'.

Or perhaps, both?

Luo En shook his head, put down his fork, a warm smile surfaced on his face as he approached Persephone in the kitchen.

"Here, let me help you."

"Mother, I'll help too!"

As if in a race for favor or perhaps out of spite, Melinoe shouted louder, rushed forward, grabbed the soup pot, and brought it to the table, swiftly serving both herself and Persephone.

When it was Luo En's turn, she hesitated for a moment, but eventually, under the somewhat mocking gaze of someone, she gritted her teeth, squeezed a radiant smile on her face, and scooped a full spoonful of thick soup into Luo En's bowl.

"Brother, this is for you, eat more."

Luo En lowered his eyes to the bowl, which was mostly filled with broth and a few overcooked vegetable leaves, his expression darkened.

This cheeky little sister, still so deserving of discipline.

Luo En kept his composure, picked up his soup bowl, put on a genial smile, and continued to enjoy this unique family feast.

However, his occasional glances at Melinoe carried a deep, sinister shadow.

Time would tell, when back on land without anyone to protect you, we'll see if you cry to death.

Perhaps sensing the invisible chill, the nearby Goddess of Conspiracy shrank her neck and became much more restrained, patiently creating a harmonious family atmosphere of maternal kindness and dutiful children, respectful brother and obedient sister.

Watching Melinoe's poor acting, as well as her awkward attempts in front of the Lady of the Netherworld to get her mother to help release her own seal and regain the upper hand, the amused Luo En found it increasingly interesting.

At this moment, he probably understood how Athena felt when she tormented him in the past.

Crushing dominance feels thrilling.

Not just in battles, but also in outsmarting intellectually.

Finally, the feast ended in a satisfying manner, Luo En put down the utensils, looked seriously at Persephone, and began to address the main issue.

"We have troubled you for so long, and considering the time, we should be departing now."

The Lady of the Underworld's heart trembled, and although her eyes held reluctance, she ultimately nodded gently.

All feasts must come to an end; the turmoil in Tartarus was nearly over, letting them stay any longer would not be safe.

"But before we depart, I have some questions I need your guidance on."

Luo En thought for a moment, gazing at the listening Lady of the Netherworld, and spoke slowly, voicing the confusion that had long weighed on his heart.

"Since in the last divergence of Fate, the Three Fates representing 'inevitability' have already won, why didn't they pursue victory conclusively by completely consuming Hecate, and why grant her such threatening privileges and courtesies? It surely can't be because His Majesty the King of Gods remembers the care from Nyx in his past?"

"If that was the case, His Majesty wouldn't have skinned his foster mother, the goat Amalthea, to create the 'Aegis Shield' and 'Horn of Plenty'."

Persephone sarcastically remarked, then pondered for a moment before speaking gravely.

"To my knowledge, it's because my godmother holds a critically important secret, one that even Zeus and the Three Fates dare not act rashly against."

"What secret?"

"I am not sure of the specifics, but it seems related to 'Blissful Paradise'."

Hearing the Lady of the Netherworld's answer, Luo En's gaze flickered subtly, murmuring lowly.

...Blissful Paradise again?
