Chapter 118: In Your Face with Ultimate Power, Accept or Not? (Big Event Concludes, Ready for Slaughter)
```
Boom!
The thunderstorm in the sky became even denser, and the light of dull silver pierced through the sea of clouds, causing countless stars to dim.
The gods of Thessaly felt as if a massive stone was pressing down on their chests, their breathing grew hurried, and they cursed inwardly.
Of all times, Zeus chose to show up now, when both sides were damaged—this old fool really has no shame!
At the same time, Kronos also sensed a chance to turn defeat into victory from the air and immediately stirred up all his divine power, bellowing fiercely.
"We have not lost yet! Bloodline of Cottus, follow me and slay these abominations, and the world will be yours!"
One by one, the reinvigorated giants lifted whole oak trees ablaze and huge rocks, charging towards the gods of Thessaly on the battlefield.
Simultaneously, hundreds of Titans emerged from the defenseless Underground Palace and, under the orders of Divine King Kronos, uprooted mountains from the Thessaly Mountain Range, piling them up to construct a Heavenly Ladder that led straight to Olympus among the stars.
Clearly, even the Giant Spirit Clan, not known for their intellect, realized at this moment which side that thunderbolt in the sky truly supported.
The gods on the battlefield of Thessaly cursed inwardly when they saw these giants—who had once boasted of storming Olympus and overthrowing Zeus—actively assisting the Heavenly Destiny Divine King in joining the fray.
"What are you standing around for? Take them down!"
Ares, God of War, felled the God of Radiance, Hyperion, who had lost his connection, and charged into the thickest cluster of giants with his chariot. His golden shield shone with a fire-like brilliance, scattering the Giant Spirit Clan in disarray. The speeding chariot ground the wailing wounded in its path into a spray of flesh and blood.
With the collapse of the Titan Temple, the protection granted by the Divine Emblem to the giants was no longer there; they had not only lost their coveted immortality, but their divine power and divinity were also greatly diminished.
And so, Ares rampaging through was like striking into an unguarded realm.
Watching the chariot race towards the "Heavenly Body," the gods smacked their foreheads, as if waking from a dream.
That's right, just finish them off!
If they could clear out all these giants before His Majesty the King of Gods made his entrance, there would be no grounds for him to make a scene.
Moreover, if His Majesty the King of Gods truly intended to turn hostile and join forces with the giants, these rabble needed to be dealt with sooner!
With their thoughts clear, the gods cast aside any fear and awe they had for His Majesty the King of Gods and charged towards the remnants of the Giant Spirit Clan and their unfinished "Heavenly Body" with clenched teeth.
Likewise, the human and heroic Alliance followed suit.
Amongst the crowd, a group of fifty stood out, maneuvering with ease—each strike claimed the life of a giant with little effort.
Soon, more and more people recognized that this shining group was none other than the Argo Expeditionary Army, who had ventured deep into the Underground Palace and achieved a monumental feat.
With blessings from the God of Wine, they had been resurrected in glory after their heroic deaths, and their divinity, divine power, and even their Sacred Robes had undergone a qualitative transformation.
Though not completely free from mortal flesh, they were like The God Among Men!
"Kill!"
Hercules, leading the charge, drew his longbow and landed a shot right onto Kronos's face, causing the Titan King orchestrating from the mountaintop to fall backward into the valley.
The construction of the "Heavenly Ladder" stumbled momentarily, due to the loss of Kronos's coordination.
But soon after, several thunderbolts shot down from the sky, like a giant arm of dull silver reaching out from the clouds, extending toward the "Heavenly Ladder" that was about to touch the stars.
The gods could do nothing but watch helplessly as the sorrowful thunderbolts continued to fall.
```
```
"Boom!"
A black iron rod suddenly flew through the air like an arrow released from a bowstring, cutting the entire "Heavenly Ladder" in half at the waist.
Pieces of broken stone and burning timber fell everywhere, smashing dozens of Giant Spirits who were building the "Heavenly Ladder," causing their brains to burst and killing them instantly on the spot.
At the same time, the arm of lightning hanging down from the sky retracted sharply as if it had touched a sharp spike.
Amidst the shocked and questioning gazes of the gods, three goddesses draped in black veils, graceful in form, descended from the clouds into the battlefield. Each waving a black mace, they knocked several Giant Spirits that had surrounded them to the ground.
"Whose subordinates are you, to be so brave?"
Ares, God of War, thrilled by the entrance of the three valiant goddesses, drove his chariot forward to ask.
However, as the breeze blew past, he saw the three identical, icy faces behind the black veils and his heart abruptly stopped.
The same shock resonated in the hearts of the gods of Thessaly.
For they all had seen the owners of these three faces before.
— The Chaos of Olympus, The Three Fates!
They had actually stepped out of the Temple of Fate and came personally to the Battlefield of Thessaly.
At this moment, Ares, who was facing The Three Fates, was somewhat tearful without tears.
Fighting is just fighting; why bother saying anything extra?
Unexpectedly, upon hearing the question, the three goddesses frowned and actually gave a solemn answer,
"We are called the Moirai, daughters of the Goddess of Justice Themis..."
At this moment, Luo En, upon hearing the "self-introduction" of The Three Fates, spread a relieved smile across his face.
The Moirai sisters! It was indeed them; it seems my gamble paid off!
Like other deities in Greece, The Three Fates also have more than one origin.
Some believe they are the daughters of the Night Goddess Nyx or incarnations of the Goddess of Inevitability Ananke;
Others believe that fate originated from the order of the world, daughters of the rule and justice Goddess Themis, and also known by another name as the Moirai sisters.
Originally, Luo En had taken this into consideration, which is why he chose to have Themis replace him on a visit to the Temple of Fate to persuade The Three Fates to enter the field.
The final result did not let him down, his good friend had actually managed to bring The Three Fates into the fray.
Of course, strictly speaking, their current identity is as the Moirai sisters, the "daughters" of the Goddess of Justice Themis, not as The Three Fates.
After all, warm justice will pity the weak, but lofty fate will not easily change for the creation or destruction of mortal life.
Their choice to appear under the name of Themis's daughters was significant in this regard.
But as far as that someone in Olympus is concerned, what difference does it make?
Luo En smirked cunningly, spear in hand, and charged into the enemy ranks, warmly and familiarly approaching The Three Fates to escort and protect them.
Soon, the quick-witted Athena and Thetis each called on gods and humans to follow suit, launching an all-out attack on the chaotic Giant Spirit Clan.
```
And with the departure of The Three Fates, Zeus withdrew to the Great Temple, and the battle took on a one-sided nature.
The fallen nine Titan Gods and their high-order Giant Spirit hosts were successively defeated by the chief gods of Olympus.
The only two remaining high-order Giant Spirits, following behind Divine King Kronos, zigzagged in a desperate attempt to escape the battlefield.
But they were repeatedly blocked by the surrounding dense crowd of deities, who deliberately drove them towards a specific location.
"Bang!"
Finally, three raised maces fell with precision and power on the heads of Divine King Kronos and the last two high-order Giant Spirits of the Cottus clan, smashing the blood and flesh of the evil beings, and bringing an end to this battle of the Giant Spirits.
Following The Three Fates, Luo En looked towards Athena, who was amidst the Pantheon of Gods on the opposing side. Their eyes met, exchanging knowing and relieved glances.
Well done!
Each of The Three Fates hammered down one, now in Zeus's eyes, they were undoubtedly accomplices.
As the battle of the Giant Spirits came to a close, Luo En looked around but could not find the person who should have appeared. His heart tensed, and he turned to The Three Fates beside him.
"Where is Themis? Why hasn't she come?"
"She lost her Divine Core..."
"??!"
"She needs to recuperate in the Temple of Fate for a while."
"...Well, that's a relief. That's a relief..."
After hearing the full explanation, Luo En's nearly bursting heart finally settled.
Thankfully, it was just the loss of the Divine Core, not death.
Otherwise, he really wouldn't know how to face this outcome.
But how did a trip to the Temple of Fate as an envoy end up with losing one's own Divine Core?
Luo En glanced at The Three Fates beside him, stroking his chin thoughtfully.
Could it be that The Three Fates becoming the Moira sisters was related to this?
In fact, the answer was just as he suspected:
The lofty Fate does not pity the weak, but the sacrifice of [Justice] infused them with a touch of warmth.
When the sacrifices of the gods and humans exceed the [Decree], [Fate] does not mind maintaining [Order] with the face of [Justice].
With his thoughts cleared in his mind, Luo En fully relaxed, he ascended to the highest point among the rubble, facing the battlefield where the smoke had not yet cleared, and loudly proclaimed:
"My friends, congratulations on your hard-fought final victory! This is a glorious war! An epic saga! All lives that took part in this war and earned their merits will never be associated with cowardice and baseness. Therefore, no matter the race, bloodline, or birth, you should all bear one common name!"
The deities, Divine Monsters, heroes, and humans on the field, hearing the call, looked up in unison, turning their gaze towards the commander who had led them to victory and glory.
At this moment, dawn had arrived.
Bathed in sunlight, the God of Wine looked up at the stars and thunderbolts disappearing in the sky, his lips curving into a playful smile as he slowly spoke.
"—People of Olympus! You are the glorious People of Olympus!"
The honored participants responded to these words with cheers and raised arms.
"Olympus!"
"Olympus!"
"Olympus!"
In the soaring voices, Athena, known for her wisdom, was the first to understand the hidden meaning and couldn't help but roll her eyes at the mischief-maker above the ruins.
The People of Olympus, the guardians of the Divine Business of Olympus, the brave ones untainted by cowardice or baseness...
So, whoever didn't show up, would be put in an awkward spot.
This was almost like pointing directly at the nose of His Majesty the King of Gods and scolding him.
~~
Meanwhile, at the Olympus Temple.
"Bang!"
Desk items and miscellaneous objects were violently swept off and rolled down the steps, into the center of the vast and silent hall.
"Traitors! They're all traitors!"
Zeus, seated on his Divine Throne, his body pulsating with thunderbolts, his originally handsome features nearly contorted with rage, his eyes looking down on the Thessaly Battlefield were gradually filled with web-like blood vessels.
War God Mountain had betrayed him; it was expected.
Thessaly had defected; of little significance.
Hermes and Ares had turned; it was just acting with the tide.
Hercules and Perseus had betrayed; it was their sentimentality that made them weak.
But how could even Hades, that fool, also have a change of heart and plot with War God Mountain, leading the deities of Hades?
And in the end, even The Three Fates had joined the fray.
He was, after all, the King of Gods! He was the Heavenly Destiny!
"Those three bitches are truly unreliable!"
Furious, Zeus smashed the bronze desk in front of him with a punch, his bloodshot eyes flickering with unfathomable darkness.
"Bring Eris to me!"
"As you command, Father God."
A seductive voice rose in the darkness; a red and black mire coalesced into a perfect form and then shot out of the Great Temple as a beam of light.
Zeus watched the figure leaving Olympus, his face somber as he murmured to himself.
"This was all forced by you!"
