The God Slayer In The Anime World

Chapter 87: Clash in the Ruins

The jutting rock pierced the oil pan, and black engine oil spilled all over the ground.

Kaido pushed the door open and stepped out of the car without the slightest reluctance, as if this supercar was disposable garbage.

Natsuki Minamiya silently repeated to herself, "It's good to be rich," and paid it no further attention, summoning a small parasol to float into the air.

The gloomy, rainy weather was exceptionally muggy, and the water vapor kicked up by the raindrops obstructed her vision.

She closed her eyes and sensed for a moment, and a dark purple magic circle lit up beneath her feet.

In the next second, Kaido and Natsuki Minamiya's figures disappeared from their original spot.

When they reappeared, they were already several kilometers away.

"Is it actually effective on my constitution too?"

The sudden change of scenery astonished Kaido.

It was common knowledge that Godslayers possessed extremely high resistance to magic. Unless its power reached the level of a Heretic God, neither enhancement magic nor weakening spells could cause effective harm to a Godslayer.

When Space Control Magic performed personal transfer, what truly acted wasn't the physical body itself, but rather it opened a portal; a person simply appeared from one place to another.

Although magic was mysterious, the process could be explained by science.

Natsuki Minamiya didn't clearly hear Kaido's mutterings. However, when her gaze landed on the camp and she saw the tragic situation, her expression changed instantly.

In the rain-soaked camp, the muddy ground was covered with corpses and severed limbs. Not even the rain could wash away the strong smell of blood that permeated the air.

Rainwater and blood mixed together, forming small red streams.

It was a living hell.

Natsuki Minamiya's expression wasn't good, but as a Gap Witch who had experienced countless battles, she had seen many more gruesome scenes than this, so she quickly regained her composure.

"It seems we arrived too late."

Natsuki Minamiya gritted her teeth.

According to the information she had gathered, a research team was excavating ancient ruins on Gozzo Island.

However, most of the hired guards were dead, so the others were likely in grave danger as well.

"Not so pessimistic; at least there are still survivors here."

If there was anyone more sensitive to death, it was undoubtedly Athena.

She transmitted a message to Kaido in his mind: there were still many survivors hiding in the cave not far away.

Among them were the two siblings from the Xiao family whom they had met before.

At that moment, Natsuki Minamiya and Kaido heard sporadic tremors and gunshots coming from the entrance of the seemingly dilapidated cave.

Natsuki Minamiya's spirits lifted. If there was still resistance, it meant there were still survivors, and also that the Death Emperor Brother hadn't yet succeeded in capturing the Twelfth Night Ember.

Just then, amidst the howling wind and rain, a low growl, like an ancient bellows, was heard.

At some unknown time, a group of walking corpses emerged from the mud. Hundreds of scattered living dead surrounded them.

The mercenaries who had fallen earlier also joined the army of the undead with low moans.

Necromancy.

Natsuki Minamiya was certain that the Death Emperor Brother was nearby.

"Oh, really? Is this going to be a Resident Evil scenario?" Kaido, however, smiled.

Living people slaughtered by the dead and then joining the army of the dead was very similar to the disaster the Feathered Serpent God caused in Mexico City before.

However, compared to the Feathered Serpent God's authority, these corpses were completely inferior imitations in terms of speed and intelligence.

"It's a good opportunity to test my new power."

The Black-haired Youth snapped his fingers.

On the empty ground, yellow sand materialized from the void, forming a contingent of twenty heavily armed knights who abruptly appeared from thin air.

"Go and kill all those living dead."

With a simple command, the iron cavalry, their eyes glowing with pale flames, silently dispersed like a well-trained army.

What followed was a one-sided massacre.

"Let's go check the cave."

Kaido called to the stunned Natsuki Minamiya, who, sensing the unsettling magic within the knights, silently followed him.

Unlike the eroded and seemingly about-to-collapse entrance, the inside of the cave was polished quite smoothly by human hands. The ruins, suspected to have existed for thousands of years, were surprisingly well-preserved in its depths, without any trace of time.

However, the once beautiful stone chamber had been invaded by a group of modern uninvited guests, and the dirt brought in from outside had contaminated it.

But no one would care about such a small matter.

Liana, a Vampire from the War King's Domain, stood in the stone chamber, panting heavily. Her once-fitting suit was torn all over, stained with blood and bullet holes.

Beside her were several equally disheveled mercenaries, tightly gripping their submachine guns.

Their expressions were shaky and fearful, their whole bodies trembling.

Behind them lay two unconscious youngsters, a boy and a girl.

The sudden arrival of the living dead army caught everyone in the camp off guard.

Withered arms easily tore through human flesh, and those who died became new living dead.

Originally, with Liana's strength, she could have completely escaped from there, but for her own purposes and to protect the two unarmed children, she decisively stayed behind.

As a noble among the Vampires, she could, of course, summon familiar beasts.

A golden wolf and a silver wolf, two giant wolves about four meters in size, were glaring at the cave entrance.

At that moment, they heard a dull, loud noise.

In the next second, a violent force arrived in an instant. The sturdy outer wall collapsed with a roar, the sound of the wind and rain outside instantly became louder, and the draft made her body sway uncontrollably.

Liana's face turned pale, and under her gaze, a three-meter-tall dog-headed Beastman slowly walked into the ruins.

"So all the little ones are here, huh?"

The Beastman, whose entire body was covered in black fur, looked at the trembling Vampires and humans and laughed mockingly.

"Your weakness is indeed as rumored. Is it true that everyone in the Karuana family is the same?" The Beastman sneered.

"Shut up! You damn Beastman!"

Liana could no longer endure the taunts and angrily summoned her familiars.

"Solar Eclipse! Lunar Eclipse! Tear him apart!"

"Heh heh, do you really think your weak Familiars can defeat me, Death Emperor Brother, Glan Hasaroff?"

The dog-headed Beastman transformed in an instant, his three-meter-tall body expanding to several times its original size, becoming a Magical Beast even more powerful than a Familiar.

Divine Beast Transformation!

This was a special ability possessed by only a few high-ranking races. It was said that a Beastman who underwent Divine Beast Transformation could even rival legendary Angels and Dragons.

The powerful Magical Wolf opened its enormous jaws and easily bit Liana's two Familiars into pieces.

"Alright, you insects, it's time to die."

The Magical Wolf grinned hideously, preparing to tear apart the powerless Vampires and remaining humans.

Firearm bullets only flashed brightly when they hit his body, unable to even scratch the Death Emperor Brother.

The research team's strongest combat power, the noble Vampire from the War King's Domain, was no match for the Death Emperor Brother, and the fragile humans were nothing more than insignificant ants.

Just as the Magical Wolf was about to pounce on Nagisa and the others, who had fainted, a black figure appeared in front of the Magical Beast. Kaido looked at Nagisa lying on the ground and smiled helplessly, "Didn't I tell you to be careful earlier?"

He took off his jacket and placed it on the little girl's body, preventing her from shivering in the cold, damp cave.

"Alright, Mr. Glan Hasaroff, the game should end now."

In the damp, cold cave, only the destroyed luminous stones could serve as sources of light.

The jet-black Magical Wolf stared intently at the human who had appeared before it, its smile terrifying and ferocious.

"Huh? Another piece of trash has arrived!"

The sudden appearance of the figure made the Death Emperor Brother stop his movements with interest.

He had buried human and Beastman corpses in the camp beforehand, and when the time was right, he used necromancy to awaken the living dead. The guard team was destroyed almost instantly with barely any resistance.

Even with a War King's Domain Vampire bodyguard, a Beastman capable of Divine Beast Transformation possessed powerful strength that could completely ignore Liana.

"Take... take these two children away. I'll try my best to delay him for a bit."

Although she didn't know what had happened, the only person Liana could turn to for help was the human in front of her.

Her vanished familiars reappeared, but their size and fighting spirit were much weaker than before.

"It doesn't feel very good to be told to run away the moment I arrive, Miss Liana."

Kaido shook his head helplessly.

"Anything else? Let me beat up this wolf first, then we can talk."

"Don't be so arrogant, you lowly human!"

The Death Emperor Brother's face showed ferocity. The jet-black Magical Wolf lifted its thick right forepaw and powerfully slammed it down towards Kaido's head.

A Beastman in Divine Transformation possessed immense strength; even Liana's Familiars were torn apart with a single blow. If it hit a human body, it would undoubtedly be instantly pulverized.

"Bang-!"

The sound of the collision was deafening.

The surge of power instantly scattered the cave's mist, and even the nearby rock walls cracked under the impact. The originally small grotto looked as if a fierce typhoon had swept through it, with smoke and shattered rocks coexisting.

The situation, where even the Familiars were no match, made Liana and the surviving humans have no hope for Kaido.

However, when the smoke dissipated.

Something occurred that neither Liana nor the Death Emperor Brother expected.

The Magical Beast's forepaw was blocked by a relatively small arm.

A faint column of smoke rose from the point of impact.

"Oh? You can actually block my attack. Looks like you're not like the other trash."

The Death Emperor Brother was astonished inside. Although he hadn't used his full strength in that attack, he hadn't held back either.

Even physically stronger Beastmen would be torn apart by his claws, yet this young man had blocked it without changing his expression.

"It's just that your punch was too soft."

Kaido shook his head; his faint laughter sounded particularly irritating in this environment.

"Lowly human!"

Death Emperor Brother Glan Hasaroff was clearly quite displeased with Kaido's mockery.

With a furious roar, his entire body stood up.

His muscles bulged and swelled, and his size seemed to double again.

"I am Death Emperor Brother Glan Hasaroff! The cream of the crop of Beastmen, unlike you Vampires who have lost your Familiars, and you inferior races who can't do anything without technology or magic! We are descendants of the Magical Wolves, born after devouring the hearts of giants, which is why Beastmen are the highest race, the creatures at the top of the world's food chain!"

The Magical Wolf's roar made the ground tremble.

"If you dare to challenge me, then experience the power of this world's most excellent race!" The black Beastman roared.

"Are you done talking? Then it's time to go."

Kaido impatiently picked at his ear.

This behavior immediately made the Death Emperor Brother extremely agitated, and the anger of being ignored caused him to open his bloody jaws and lunge to bite Kaido.
