The God of Ice and Fire at Hogwarts

Chapter 167: Sands of Time

"It's almost time, we should leave."

Green looked at the clock and said.

He placed his left hand on Lynn's shoulder and, with a flick of his wand in his right hand, they disapparated.

With the sound of gas explosions, Lynn and Green reappeared at the door of Nico's cabin.

Nicolas flamel opened the door, smiled kindly, and invited them inside.

Nicolas motioned for them to sit on the sofa. With a wave of his wand, three cups of black tea appeared in front of Lynn, Green, and himself.

Lynn rolled up the sleeve of his right arm and tapped it with his wand.

A bright golden light shone, and alchemical formations appeared on the surface of his right arm. Immediately after, Lynn's arm suddenly expanded into a circle, and as the camouflage of his skin faded, a protective arm appeared. The demon's power manifested in front of everyone.

Lynn touched the center of the Demon God's Authority with his wand and watched as it cracked in half, revealing a blood-red mast containing a magical stone capable of granting wealth and longevity.

Lynn didn't desire the Philosopher stone at all. He simply took it and handed it over to Nico.

Seeing this, Nico stored the Philosopher's Stone and then asked with a smile: "Lynn, aren't you reluctant to part with the power of the Philosopher's Stone?"

Lynn replied without thinking: "If you don't want to part with it, so what? It's yours. You gave it to me, and I couldn't thank you enough. How could I want it back out of greed?"

Nico laughed heartily and said: "Good boy! Good boy! However, I might need to keep the Philosopher's stone for a year. Only next summer can I return it to you. I plan to use it to refine enough immortality potion so that Perenal and I can live to see the day you grow up. After returning the Philosopher's stone to you next year, I won't need to use magic for a hundred years. I'll use it to make the immortality potion."

Lynn said indifferently: "Master, you can use it. I can protect myself without the Philosopher's stone."

If it had been a year ago, Lynn wouldn't have said this so confidently. After all, he faced a Basilisk last year, and next year he would face a resurrected Voldemort.

But this year, Lynn wasn't worried at all about losing the Philosopher's Stone and its impact on his combat effectiveness. After all, the real enemy of this year had nothing to do with Voldemort.

Not to mention Black wouldn't harm himself as a descendant of a member of the Order of the Phoenix. Even if Lynn, who had lost the Philosopher's Stone, fought Black, he wouldn't necessarily lose.

After discussing the Philosopher's Stone, Nico asked: "By the way, Lynn, how is your alchemy progressing? How much have you learned?"

Lynn sincerely told Nico his current level of alchemy.

After learning that Lynn had recently studied the theoretical knowledge of Time Alchemy, Nico smiled: "Since you've learned the theory of Time Alchemy, how about I teach you how to refine Time Sand? Anyway, I taught Wallison alchemy as well."

Lynn, surprised and confused, said: "But Master said that practicing Time Alchemy is too dangerous and that I should wait until I can explore it and practice it myself in the future."

Nico replied happily: "Wallison is deceiving you! The reason he doesn't teach you Time Alchemy is because he doesn't know how to do it himself!"

Green covered his face in depression: "Master, please don't embarrass me."

Nico responded without ceremony: "When I once traveled to the East, I heard an old saying: 'To know is to know, and not to know is not to know.' You don't know how to do Time Alchemy, and you don't know. Why do you think I brought Lynn to you? Don't I know about Time Alchemy?"

Green sank even deeper into despair: "But master, you never taught me…"

"That's because you don't have enough talent. I can teach you some theoretical knowledge to save your life," Nico said. "But Lynn has more talent than you and is braver than you in testing the limits of danger. He has the ability to learn Time Alchemy!"

What Nico meant by "testing the limits of danger" referred to Lynn's unauthorized practice of dark magic.

Of course, while Nico seemed to praise Lynn's adventurous spirit, he was actually scolding him for only exposing himself to dark magic.

"Master, are you very skilled in Time Alchemy?" Lynn asked with curiosity.

Nico chuckled and said: "Of course, I participated in the great experiment to improve the Time Turner back then. It can make wizards immortal. Do you think the Philosopher's Stone really doesn't have any power over time?"

Lynn suddenly understood.

Yes, Nico Flamel, as the world's greatest alchemist, even created the Philosopher's Stone, a magical object that turns stones into gold and grants immortality. He is the best in every aspect of alchemy!

Moreover, as Nico said, the Philosopher's Stone has the power to make people immortal. This power seems to only affect a wizard's lifespan, but it is closely related to the power of time.

Otherwise, how could it have extended the life of a man who should have died long ago for over six hundred years?

"Master, I've heard that the Sands of Time can easily kill a wizard, turning him into a withered skeleton or even reverting him to a fertilized egg in an instant. Or they can make a wizard lose himself in time forever, never to reincarnate," Lynn said with some fear.

Even he instinctively felt terrified when facing such an unknown and terrifying power.

If it weren't for a timepiece etched with thousands of alchemical circles to contain the Sands of Time, then the Time Turner itself might not only prevent a wizard from traveling to the past but also cause the wizard to get lost in time and die.

Upon hearing this, Nico smiled faintly and said: "Since I plan to teach you how to refine the Sands of Time, I naturally have a secret method to temporarily limit and control them."

Nico waved his wand and used Transfiguration to transform into a rabbit.

The rabbit landed on the tea table, curiously looking around.

Then, Nico gestured with his left hand and held a grain of sand that glowed with a milky white light. The milky white light of this grain of sand dimmed under the suppression of an unusual group of magical lights emanating from Nico's body. Even though Nico was holding it in his hands, it wasn't affected by time.

Immediately after, Nico gently waved his left hand, and the grain of sand instantly flew and landed on the rabbit. The strange magical light group that had previously suppressed the grain of sand lost its effect, and a milky white light immediately fell on the rabbit.

The power of time reached the rabbit, draining its magical power instantly, and the rabbit lost its magical support, returning to its original tea cup.
