After 4 years of training Universe 7 has made the most out of their time by training for 2 years and spending the remaining time watching previous tournaments to strategize on how to fight so many opponents while conserving energy to do this they practiced having a tournament at Cell's ring and each person chose to be the person in charge of the 'Cell Games' except that they had to conserve not only their power but their stamina speed and strength for all other opponents that each member of the team would try to drain them of and it went like this for a year and a half the last 6 months were for rest and study of strategy.
Using Godtube they were able to rewatch the Zen exhibition and the Tournament between Universe 6 and Universe 7 to study each of the different warriors abilities everyone agreed that the Trio De Danger and Hit would be their biggest threats besides Toppo and Jiren if what Toppo said about him is true however Universe 7's team has other things to worry abiut namely their team leader and trainer ever since he completed their training during the first two years he stopped training with them instead he began training those who would be staying here including Goten and Trunks not only that but Dende has completed all of his training other than Kami's so Gohan has taken him under his wing has well by the time that Gohan drops him off at the look out with 2 years left of their time Dende is almost too strong for the training but it actually helps him control everything he has learned up until now.
Gohan Mr. Popo and Kami have been training him in the time chamber along with the others who will be staying here to protect the planet once Dende's training is complete and he has learned everything he needs to become Guardian they have 4 months until the tournament Kami makes Dende Guardian after that Piccolo is waiting him and Gohan along with Kami go into the time chamber Kami says it's time Piccolo he nods then puts his hand on Kami's chest and they merge becoming one making his power level skyrocket higher than anything he's ever done not onlt that but his knowledge increases by alot as well the entire Namekian history culture and everything else gets mixed in with everything else that Kami and Guru knew.
Piccolo spends several days meditating trying to clear his head and sift through all the knowledge he just gained it takes him a month to do so after that Gohan puts him through every energy control and mental exercise he ever learned actually the mental training helped him alot more than it ever did Gohan especially the mental trials after that they just trained to control his new speed strength and power which Piccolo did rather easily after going through that mental training whether they meant to or not especially after Piccolo asked him to help him perfect his ultimate form they spent the full 3 years inside the time chamber what took so long was controlling his new powers and learning how to properly control his forms again with this increase in power once he mastered them completely he was able to merge them together he even added Kaioken to the mix as well.
They completed everything in 2 years but spent the extra year refining his ultimate form so that he could go into it with out constantly merging the other forms that make it up he also had Piccolo be able to go into the individual forms that make it up with out issue Piccolo Raditz and Nappa are the last ones to master this out of the Z fighters other than Goku and Vegeta the rest have mastered their ultimate form already after they leave the chamber everyone can sense Piccolo's energy even as exhausted as he is his energy is like a beacon especially after Dende heals him other than a few he is now the strongest warrior on Earth and possibly the Universe Piccolo turns to Gohan then asks are you coming with me Gohan says no after I get healed I have a meeting to attend to alarm bells go off in Piccolo's head he asks do you want me there Gohan says I probably should but I honestly don't know if I'm allowed to bring someone.
Piccolo asks is this meeting why you've been so distant with everyone and why you've been training us so hard in case we have to do this without you Gohan says it's a possibility that I've considered but never actually wanted to happen and according to the person that I spoke with while I was in the Demon Realm there would come a time where I'd have to make a choice abandon you guys to protect you or stay and watch you die because I lacked the courage to leave you all behind Piccolo says or there's a third option you kill whoever is making you do this gohan chuckles then says I've considered that but to obtain the power required for such a feat is more time than we have even in that other realm will only stop time for 1 year but after that you will be trapped there the only reason the time limit acted up is because I kept using it for the time limit allotted just not all at once.
Vados not liking this version of Gohan one who's resigned to what's about to happen looks through various moments of history and various timelines hoping and praying to find something anything to help him not be a puppet of Champa and Sidra as they are the ones behind this along with Quitella they are afraid of his powers so they want him not just under their control but all of the god's control afraid that one day he will come for them their powers and their cushy positions it's not until she also gets a lightning bolt through her head that she sees the GT timeline and she discovers something rather interesting so interesting in fact that Gohan could have achieved it years ago she beams the image into Popo's head who takes them right back to the time chamber.
PIccolo stays outside Dende goes inside Gohan raises an eyebrow Mr. Popo says become an ape Gohan does so and with Popo's instructions he masters Kaioken with it all the way to x20 not only that but he also masters Saiyan god with it as well including Super Saiyan 2 and all 3 mixed together but is stuck however he still keeps training until he masters that combined form it takes him the full 3 years but he does it he trained up his ape form in it's base form as well so that it would be faster stronger and more powerful once he completed that he exited the chamber dende heals him he goes to his house on Supreme Kai's world gets cleaned up and changed instead of going to that horrible meeting where he would be giving up his spot in the tournament they'd also have him perform a ritual to relinquish all of his knowledge and power as well.
Instead he went with the Grand Priest to meet Zeno he's wearing his Kai clothes when the grand Priest picks him up and takes him to the realm where Zeno is on the way there Gohan snaps his fingers and all of the seals on everyone he put them on for his team were removed as they made it to his realm and starting down the hallway the grand Priest asks what was it that you did before we got here Gohan says I unsealed my team so that they could recover properly and get used to their bodies and powers again after having 50% of their abilities locked away for 4 years they ought to be ready now to take everyone down in that tournament after saying that the Grand Priest notices that Gohan himself is still sealed away in fact 70% of his own abilities are locked away which is odd considering he's the team leader for his Universe.
They make it to Zeno who has that cute attitude when lots of people are around but with just his body guards the grand Priest and Gohan he takes on an entirely serious voice and expression he asks why did you free the other Kais from Majin Buu Gohan narrows his eyes Zeno raises his power level to try to intimidate him but Gohan just bats it away like it's a child's toy Zeno raises his power again this time to Garlic Jr's level before he died and while transformed Gohan bats hit away again Zeno keeps raising it as every villain that they have ever gone up against lackeys included and Gohan isn't fazed not one bit finally he raises it to Champa's and Sidra's level combined Gohan hasn't even moved a muscle this entire time his energy is doing all of the work.
Gohan looks at Zeno then asks are you sure that you want to play at this level think about it before you combine those two power levels into one because I'm not like every lackey you have I'm not afraid to erase you on the spot if you become to much of a threat to everything so pick now are you done testing me or do you want me to test you Zeno narrows his eyes then says you don't have the power yet to erase me for one and for two you're a thousand years too young to even think of challenging me the Grand Priest says maybe we should stop this after all we didn't bring him here to make an enemy we brought him here to test his powers before we let him go against Champa and Sidra after the tournament and to thank him for freeing those kais.
Zeno sighs but says yes I do want you to test me yourself I'm bored I want someone to let loose with Gohan says then we need to go somewhere else because I'm not destroying this place the Grand Priest summons a staff just like Whis carries and puts them inside the realm there Zeno says okay we can go all out here Gohan breaks one seal on himself that releases 25% of his power along with whatever is inside his body currently so Gohan unlocks the seal he currently has on his power that makes it only used for defense and then he combines his energy with what he just unlocked only for this encounter after that he starts powering up Zeno is actually getting pushed back he's going through every enemy that they have ever faced and they are no match for the power that Gohan is unleashing Gohan stops at 5% then sets aside his regular Ki then activates his God Ki.
He powers up for quite awhile Zeno retests his God Ki the same way and it does the same as his regular Ki once it reaches 5% he sets it aside and actiavtes his Demon Ki shocking those watching not knowing that he could use that form of Ki he passes the same test and reaches 5% then he fuses them together flawlessly Zeno can already feel that his power just at this level already surpasses champa's and Sidra's without any other forms or anything else but that doesn't include physical abilities Gohan asks are you satisfied Zeno says yes I am and I truly believe that given enough time you could erase me just not quite yet Gohan says I know but wanna a secret I'm holding back 85% of my power right now not including transformations or my physical abilities Zeno asks how much will you use in the tournament Gohan says I honestly don't know yet if you're lucky you may see half of my power.
After that Zeno had the Grand Oriest take Gohan home Gohan just locked away his abilities again and went to mediate on Yunzabit Heights he knows that they have 4 months left so he's meditating while using the combined 3 energies he used against Zeno but it's such a small amount that it won't hurt his energy supply or tire him out but it does help him with his control a bit more and help him refine those energies better he's meditating in the middle where the winds are the worst out of the whole place and believe it or not but the deeper you go there's actually gravity here no higher than 20 times that of Earth but it's where gohan is now so that he doesn't go anywhere with the time counting down ever since Gohan got back everyone has been searching for him to go over their plans but Gohan already thought of one he gave it to his mother and Chi-chi to give to everyone else.
They are a stack of tapes of tournaments that have had battle royal style combat in the past so they have been watching them and studying them there is enough tapes to study that it should last them 3 months so that's what they do they combine studying the regular tournaments the Zen Exhibition the Universe 7 VS Universe 6 tournament and these tapes that Gohan got them once they complete them there's only one month until the tournament what they also did was use the multi-form technique to reenact these tournaments with their clones so that their main bodies could rest they practiced every strategy in each video until they git them down to an instinctual level Piccolo flies to the lookout he sees Dende taking to his new role as Guardian smiles then says it's time he needs to come out of his self imposed exile Dende tells him where Gohan is.
Piccolo can't beleive that he's there of all places but goes there to get him it only takes an hour to fly there and another 4 more to find him he sees that he was mediatating and fell asleep and now he's just floating there so he stretches his arm grabs Gohan drags him to him takes him to the Lookout takes him to Dende who heals him and a day later Gohan wakes up Piccolo says It's time let us know the official roster Gohan flies to Capsule Corp he sets up a room with everyone in it gets a board that you can put pins on he starts tacking pictures on them but they are flipped around everyone files into the conference room seeing snacks and drinks as well as their leader Gohan says some of you have an idea of who's going and who's staying but for the Gods I need to make it official as to who my team will be so the roster is as follows:

The names are submitted to Whis who sent them to his father Gohan says from this point on there's no more training no more studying it's time to relax and recuperate so that we will be fresh for the tournament next month cell asks do you know how stong the other warriors will be Gohan says only those from Universe 6 and only 3 from Universe 9 the rest we know nothing about something to remember this goes for all of you Godtube shows quite a bit but it can't show how powerful someone really is or fast they really are as it too has it's limits in what it can capture but what it does capture is the abilities and strategies used by fighters from other universes however it's not something that you can rely on for information all of the time as there's still lots of stuff that a fighter hides during tournaments like those two unless it's the tournament of power then I doubt they will let it be recorded as the best fighters from every universe will be there.
after that Gohan answers some basic questions then ends the meeting he just relaxes around Capsule Corp until it's time everyone else just keeps watching more tournaments that they didn't get to finish because they were worried about the deadline the last one that they watch is the Otherworld Tournament they saw a version of Goku doing it and watched as Gohan did it as well while they were doing that everyone couldn't help but ask questions on what they should do Gohan says no I'm not answering anymore questions and if you all want to freak yourselves out for something that hasn't even happened yet then don't bother showing up.
Because what you all need to do is empty your minds and relax don't worry and just enjoy yourselves even when the tournament happens just have fun and remember despite what Beerus tells you or Whis or the kais you don't have to change how you fight or how you act but don't get cocky and so caught up in one measly victory that you let another fighter take you out because remember this if nothing else there's 70 fighters other than us to beat so don't get over confident after taking out one or two or even five warriors everyone nods at that also this is a marathon not a sprint so try to conserve your strength for as long as possible because I had a meeting with Zeno 3 months ago healing items other than naturally healing powers won't be allowed until you get eliminated.
