Chapter 34: Sealing Jutsu (34)
Well, Seijuro won. Didn't think much of it—just showcased Genin-level strength. Though he was quite drained {acting}, in case the old lady could somehow sense his chakra. He had used the Shadow Clone Jutsu and kinda transferred like 75% of his chakra to them. It also made it easier to sell the illusion he was hit.
He was sure most Jōnin watching had kinda guessed what he did to beat Nawaki. So when he did the Earth Wall, he left a clone behind to reinforce the wall, while he himself used the Head Hunter Jutsu. Nawaki, not being a sensor, didn't feel shit.
Once next to his clone, Seijuro pulled the clone underground, but did not destroy it—just trapped it down there—and used the Transformation Jutsu.
He took the clone's place and acted like Nawaki's clone.
That would be a fair guess. The thing was, Seijuro had taken the spot of Nawaki's clone long before that. When Seijuro had made his Shadow Clone, he actually made three. Though everyone else saw two, he had used his Kekkei Genkai to hide the third one. The third clone was the one Nawaki fought, while Seijuro himself took the spot of Nawaki—many, many clones.
Quite easy to do, really.
He felt like anyone could come up with a strategy like that—nothing for him to brag about, really.
He did bow to the Hokage, and as for his reward for winning? Simple—he gained access to the Genin portion of the library, alongside requesting one thing from the Hokage, hm.
Something simple.
"Hokage-sama, I only wish to learn Fūinjutsu."
The man would be confused—wait, what? He expected a lot—like the boy wanting better illusion techniques or graduating early.
But Fūinjutsu? This was rare.
Deciding to make his point clearer:
"Upon reading about the topic, I have realized that my Genjutsu skill could be used in conjunction with Fūinjutsu."
Yeah, Hiruzen could see how this could be useful—but Fūinjutsu was a hard and arduous task.
"Do you truly wish to learn Fūinjutsu? The art of sealing is incredibly difficult. I would like for you to reconsider—I simply do not wish for you to regret your choice."
Hm. Seijuro could ask for something else, using his scheme to get a powerful B-rank Jutsu for free. But why do that? He could do that later by going to the Jōnin section and learning that Jutsu off the shelf.
It was easy for someone of his skill level.
But now, what he wanted most was that Fūinjutsu book.
Reaching into his pouch, he would take out a seal. Pouring chakra into it, his sword could be seen... That was a Storage Seal, but the seal had his initials on it.
"...I have tried learning it by myself. However, the library and sealing class only teach the basics..."
Hiruzen would look at it. Hm. The boy had talent for seals. Alright.
Hm.
"A medium guide on Fūinjutsu shall be delivered to you," the Hokage said.
Seijuro would simply bow his head.
"Thank you, Hokage-sama."
The old man would touch his beard. Hm. It didn't matter—the boy had the potential for it, so that's all that mattered.
Plus, he was trying to learn the Eight Trigrams Seal. Yes, he was trying to become a Jinchūriki—more like a pseudo Jinchūriki. TL;DR: he was planning to steal some Tailed Beast Chakra, analyze it, and find a way to safely integrate it with his own chakra.
He wanted to be able to use more Jutsu without being drained, and he wanted to keep his illusion active 24/7.
But for now, he couldn't do that.
Unlike Nawaki, he needed to be quite wise with his reserves. In the area where he was supposed to be, he sighed a bit—so many things to think about.
Mikoto did congratulate him. He gave her a smile. Hm, she blushed. Did she have a crush on him?
Hm. It was nearly a childish crush. He was sure it would go away eventually.
Meanwhile, in the stands, a certain prodigy killer was wondering how to have this kid join Root—for the greater good of the village, of course. Hm. If only he acted earlier, but now he couldn't do shit.
The child had showcased his skill in front of everyone, so, you know, the child randomly going missing would be noticed. Plus, he was friends with Nawaki—the Senju heir. Long story short, Seijuro's current position was one where he could not be touched.
Hm. He would get his chances later—not now though.
Time skip.
When Seijuro got home, he was happy to see a scroll waiting for him. And like a child with a new toy, he would open it. This should help with his study.
From this, he should have enough know-how in order to create his own seal. He was trying to find some stuff to increase his chakra, because he knew that at some point, he would reach his limits. His body would be unable to squeeze more chakra out due to his weak vitality.
So chances were, he would be stuck at the Jōnin level if he didn't find something soon.
So... time to learn.
He looked at the book.
🌀 The Fundamentals of Fūinjutsu – "The Language of Suppression"
Fūinjutsu (封印術) is the art of manipulating chakra into formulaic scripts to bind, seal, suppress, or control energy, objects, or living beings. Where Ninjutsu reshapes chakra into elemental force, Fūinjutsu reshapes chakra into rules.
🔤 Core Concepts
1. Ink Formulas:
Sealing techniques are composed of intricate characters or symbols, drawn with chakra-infused ink. These characters are not mere script—they are chakra conduits, inscribed in accordance with a "logic" akin to coding.
🖋 "Each symbol is a command. Each circle is a condition. Each line, a connection. Master the script, master the rule."
2. Chakra Anchoring:
All seals require a chakra anchor—either the user's own chakra or an external energy source. Anchoring determines duration and stability. An improperly anchored seal fades like smoke.
3. Key Elements:
Trigger – What activates the seal (e.g., a word, chakra pulse, or time limit).
Function – What the seal does (bind, store, suppress, etc.).
Medium – What material it's written on (scroll, body, ground, etc.).
Unseal Method – How to remove it (opposite chakra polarity, reverse incantation, etc.).
🔰 Beginner Seals
[E-Rank] Storage Seal (Shūnō Fūin, 収納封印)
Function: Stores small items in a scroll or tag.
Structure: Tri-circled array with five directional glyphs.
Note: Good for tools, kunai, and food rations.
Unseal Method: Touch center with user's chakra.
🧷 Novice Combat & Utility Seals
[D-Rank] Binding Tag (Kōsoku Fūin, 拘束封印)
Function: Temporarily immobilizes a target's limbs or chakra flow.
Structure: Diamond formation of glyphs with four corners, inscribed with "hold" command lines.
Medium: Paper tags thrown or attached to a target.
Duration: 3–5 seconds unless reinforced with more chakra.
[D-Rank] Barrier Glyph (Kekkai Shikifu, 結界式符)
Function: Forms a weak chakra barrier in a fixed space.
Usage: Protection from weak projectiles, distractions.
Shape: Four-cornered seal formula with polarity markers on each side.
Trigger: All tags must be placed; user must activate with both hands in Tiger → Ram seal.
🔒 Intermediate Seals
[C-Rank] Chakra Suppression Seal (Yōryoku Gentei Fūin, 容力限定封印)
Function: Suppresses part of the target's chakra network or limits output to a fixed %.
Used For: Capturing rogue shinobi, containing dangerous children.
Complexity: Requires formula rotation synchronized to user's pulse.
Weakness: Disrupted if user is too far from the seal.
[C-Rank] Exploding Trap Seal (Bakuretsu Shikifu, 爆裂式符)
Function: Delayed chakra-trigger explosion.
Structure: Spiral core with "detonate" glyphs pointing outward.
Delay: Can be pre-set from 1 second to 10 minutes.
Secondary Use: Can be hidden beneath a Storage Seal for booby-trapping scrolls.
⚠️ Notes Scrawled in the Margins
"Layered Seals are the real art. Add a Storage Seal inside a Barrier, wrapped with a Trap. Instant surprise arsenal."
— Annotated by a former Uzumaki
"Don't overcharge a Suppression Seal. You'll rupture the target's coils. Or worse—your own."
— Warning from a War Medic
"If you're dumb enough to seal an entire human into a D-rank tag, don't write your name on it."
— Someone who clearly survived something ridiculous
