The Genjutsu Devil of Konoha

Chapter 32: Mikoto vs Seijuro (32)

Long story short, Nawaki won his fight, and the Inuzuka won his fight.

To be fair, Nawaki's wasn't a fight— the guy kinda gave up after realizing he was fighting Nawaki. Wow, this was proving to be quite an easy run for him. Making it to the semi-final so easily was crazy work.

He did beat the Inuzuka, so he was destined to go to the final.

Now, the only thing remaining was for the winner of the fight...

Seijuro Kurama would step into the field. He looked at Mikoto.

"You improved a lot."

She looked at him, nodding along.

"I trained a lot."

As the teacher had them do the sign, he analyzed her. So she had low Chunin-level chakra. She was quite proficient in fire jutsu, knew some lightning and water jutsu—though most, if not all of them, were E-rank. Her strongest jutsu was still the Fireball Jutsu.

If she was as smart as he gave her credit for, she wouldn't have taken the month she had to train just to learn a new jutsu. It would be better if she had something else up her sleeve.

"Hajime," the instructor said.

Her eyes looked rather focused. She had tried to awaken her Sharingan by training as hard as someone humanly could at her age...

But gave up that idea halfway through. Instead, she chose this option—where she trained her body hard in the past month. She was now stronger than before and could beat her previous self with medium difficulty. All of her stats received a small buff.

"Do not hold back on me," she said, looking at him. Hm, she was serious.

Well, he could toy around with her for a bit. Rushing toward him, she began to throw hands. A kick was blocked, she threw a left hook, which was blocked, two body shots were parried, a kidney shot was gracefully deflected—hm, she was really coming. Coming for him.

Seijuro ducked under another one of her strikes before continuing to fight her. She was quite agile.

Mikoto jumped away to make distance between him and her.

"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"

As those words left her mouth, she spewed a fireball toward his location. Using the chance—since she couldn't see him—he used his version of the Shunshin.

As the fireball seemed to envelop him, Mikoto's nose perked up. That scent... Turning around, she managed to dodge his strike.

Hm. He didn't wear this style of sandals. Yes, they looked the same, but his sandals had like four straps, not eight.

"Kai!" she said, the illusion around her breaking.

She tilted her head just in time for another strike coming toward her.

Seijuro's brow furrowed a bit—she had broken out of his illusion sooner than he thought. He wondered what gave him away. Everything in the world was exactly as it should be, so why... why did she question the world?

Mikoto looked determined. If only he knew the reason she escaped was because... his sandals looked wrong. Wonder how he'd react to that.

She launched some kunai at him. Using his sheathed sword, he proceeded to parry every single strike.

Before jumping into the air—as her arm came from underneath.

Poof.

That was a clone, heh.

'Good, I got him in the air...' Her hands quickly went through handseals. She, out of everyone, knew that unless someone could fly, while they were in the air, they were at their most vulnerable. So he would be unable to dodge this strike.

"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!" As the fireball was about to reach him, Seijuro smiled.

Oh, she was being crafty. She was quite the smart fighter, wasn't she?

However... she meant him.

Using the Transformation Jutsu, he turned his blade into what seemed to be a 1-ton ball. Seijuro's body was dragged by gravity at much greater speed toward the floor, the fireball barely missing him.

By the time he landed, she was already in his face. He blocked her blows, making sure to dodge just right so he didn't get hurt badly.

She was proving to be more dangerous than he gave her credit for. Each of her strikes aimed to push him onto the back foot, to push him into making a mistake.

And he was noticing something—every time he placed her in a Genjutsu, she would break out of it near instantly. He didn't know why. What could possibly cause this?

So... he decided to end it.

Making the Ram hand seal—

"Shadow Clone Jutsu."

As those words left his mouth, three copies of himself appeared. Now there were four Seijuros.

Mikoto felt like all of them seemed real. They all had shadows—this was the jutsu Nawaki used.

"Shatter Kyōka Suigetsu." ×4

As all four of them said this... her world turned black. Nothing made sound, she couldn't feel, she couldn't taste, she couldn't see, she had no mouth. She couldn't make a noise at all. She felt like she was trapped somehow.

"Kai."

"Kai!"

Nothing was happening. No matter how much she tried, the world wasn't breaking.

"Do not waste your chakra. This Genjutsu shuts off practically all five of your senses."

Oh... so now even though she was probably making the handseal right now, she couldn't even feel her own hands.

She was stuck in the darkness.

Hm... she lost.

A/N...Mikoto has like a 70% of being the female lead.
