The Gamer who traveled to Honkai: Star Rail

Chapter 627: Chapter 626: Give Duke Inferno a Shot

Among everyone Pei Guang knew, Silver Wolf had the best connections.

She'd even previously dealt with the Annihilation Gang's assets, so he figured she probably had relevant intel.

That's why he pulled out his phone and messaged Silver Wolf.

Pei Guang: "You there? Need something."

Just as he sent that and was about to type a follow-up, Silver Wolf bombarded him with several rapid messages.

Silver Wolf: "I know what you want to do. Bullied by the Duke of the Annihilation Gang? No worries, I just so happen to have the coordinates of the planet he's on. Go all out."

If that guy had stayed quiet, Silver Wolf wouldn't have been able to track him down. The problem was… he'd just broadcast a provocative message to the entire universe.

His concealment methods were top-tier: even most elite hackers couldn't locate him.

Unfortunately, he was up against her, Silver Wolf. And after Kafka's description, she was pissed too.

She'd had characters she raised carefully get killed before. Sure, you could reload, start over… but it never sat well.

And now someone had the nerve to pull that kind of stunt? Silver Wolf wasn't about to let it slide.

After receiving her message, Pei Guang replied with a thumbs-up. "Nice! Love you for this~ No other lifeforms around, right? If I don't fire off one shot today, I'll never feel right again!"

Silver Wolf: "Care to explain how exactly you're gonna fire off that shot?"

Pei Guang: "Heh, you'll see. I'll treat you to a firework show later."

Meanwhile, on the Annihilation Gang's turf, the flames surrounding Duke Inferno, Ifrit, suddenly wavered.

Just moments ago, its consciousness projection in the space station had been cut off. It had planned to say a lot of harsh things to Pei Guang, even kill Asta right in front of him to cause maximum pain, but just as it acted, its link was completely severed in an instant.

Because it had mixed in a trace of its source power with that flame, its own essence had been damaged. What was worse… that missing fragment seemed completely unrecoverable by any known means.

And even more terrifying: Ifrit could swear that missing piece had started to emit… a foul smell.

It was a type of elemental lifeform similar to a Heliobi, and it now carried a foul odor on its body—which even it couldn't understand. As for the reason behind it?

The principle was simple: because that entity had a bit of its origin, and that portion had been roasted by Pei Guang, the system determined it had been scorched by Savory Truefire, leaving behind its distinctive scent.

Perhaps influenced by the player's preferences, the smell that remained on it was one that players absolutely hated: foul, musky, and fishy. Due to the creature's special physical nature, the effect of the smell was somewhat diminished, but it was still noticeable.

"Damn you… next time we meet, I'll make sure not even your ashes remain!"

Duke Inferno was enraged.

As its fury surged, the flames on its body flared up violently. But clearly, before it could retaliate against Pei Guang, vengeance from the player would arrive even faster.

Just as it was planning its revenge, the sky suddenly went dark. Instinctively looking up, it saw a sight that made it feel suffocated: a massive warship was descending from the sky.

This warship seemed as if it would crash into the planet, bearing down on it with overwhelming force.

It was none other than Pei Guang's Star Destroyer.

Pei Guang had investigated this planet: it was completely under the control of the Annihilation Gang.

As the Star Destroyer arrived, Pei Guang activated its lifeform scanning system. Based on his moral principles, the warship picked up and evacuated hidden agents and those in hiding, directly transporting them aboard.

Pei Guang even casually rescued a few barely surviving beings and brought them aboard as well. He loved this function of the Star Destroyer: after rescuing those lives tormented by the Annihilation Gang, he tossed a 10% full-recovery item into the reactor.

Yes, Pei Guang's plan was very simple. Since the ship's current power only allowed for a round trip, he figured that if he fed the warship's core, Phantylia, a full recovery item, it would not only be able to make the round trip, but also fire a shot.

He could sense that the enemy definitely had an escape plan, but it didn't matter. He didn't care.

Inside the power core of the Star Destroyer, Phantylia, drained of her energy, was lying weakly on the floor. But when she saw the recovery item Pei Guang had thrown in, she went silent.

She remembered it clearly: this thing… seemed to have dropped from her own body? Though she was an elemental lifeform like a Heliobus, that former body of hers had been her strongest.

Now it was destroyed, and on top of that, she had to eat this?

"I'm not eating it!"

Phantylia showed her stubbornness.

However, once inside the power core, she had no say. The two who could still move pinned down her energy form, and one of them shoved the item straight into her.

At that moment, Phantylia's strength was fully restored. As her power returned, the Star Destroyer began to accumulate energy.

Just when she thought it was over, she saw Pei Guang throw in ten more recovery items.

Her expression froze as she stared at the hundred recovery items. Indeed, Pei Guang didn't have many 100% restores left, and anything above 50% was already rare.

But 10% items? He had them in abundance. Pei Guang took out a full stack of 100 and prepared to go all in.

At that moment, Phantylia wanted to cry. "What did I ever do to deserve this…"

Even as a Lord Ravager, she found Pei Guang's methods a bit extreme.

If he were just enjoying it, she could understand. But the problem was… Pei Guang did it all for the sake of efficiency.

Even Phantylia found that terrifying!

On the planet, members of the Annihilation Gang who were still around looked up at the massive warship in the sky. Some of the bolder ones even boarded aircraft and attempted to fly up.

But just as they took off, the Star Destroyer, which was even larger than the planet itself, continued charging up.

The lingering Annihilation Gang members could feel the warship's power: a pure, unfiltered destructive force.

Right before firing, Pei Guang activated a wide-range broadcast.

"Duke Inferno, Ifrit! You're just a loser. I'm cursing you right here and now, and I'm also gonna blow up your planet.

Duke Inferno! You're the lowest of the low. Asta is under my protection now. Just try touching her again: I'll turn your flames into a pop idol, stuff her into a septic tank, and roast crap with your fire! You bottom-feeding scrub!

All of you soy milk little guys are just worthless scum!"

With those final words, Pei Guang gave the order for the Star Destroyer to fire.

At that moment, having absorbed Phantylia's power, the Star Destroyer released a blast of destruction condensed to its absolute limit.

This pure power from the Path of Destruction wasn't like a laser weapon that shone down from the sky, nor was it like throwing a stone to crush someone: it was something entirely different.

Now that all non-Annihilation Gang lifeforms who aligned with the player's moral compass had been evacuated onto the warship, Pei Guang had no hesitation whatsoever in pulling the trigger.

At that moment, Duke Inferno could feel the pure destructive aura descending from the sky. His flames trembled violently.

From the moment he heard the broadcast, he knew: this had to be Pei Guang's doing.

"I'll kill you one day!!!"

Duke Inferno's flames flared in rage, but at this point, all he could do was talk tough. Under this overwhelming destructive force, he knew for sure that if he didn't run, he was finished.

His mouth spat out the harshest threats, while his body very honestly started to flee.

At the same time, he was shaken by just how ruthless Pei Guang was: he had assumed Pei Guang was just someone piggybacking on the Luofu's power, but it turned out the man actually had the firepower, and not just that.

Pei Guang was the type who, after setting a trap for you, would immediately turn around and slaughter your entire family.

Where did this guy even come from? Even the Annihilation Gang didn't go so far as to blow up an entire family just because someone tricked them.

As for the rest of the Annihilation Gang members? That didn't matter, what mattered now was staying alive.

Just as Pei Guang had predicted, Duke Inferno fled. But that escape didn't come without a price.

Under the pressure of the pure Destruction force, all other types of power were suppressed. He managed to escape the planet, but only by pushing himself into a weakened state.

Unfortunately, most of the other Annihilation Gang members weren't so lucky.

The pure destructive force struck the planet, and it detonated like fireworks. Every Annihilation Gang member on the planet had their bodies and even their consciousness obliterated, erased on both physical and mental levels.

The moment the planet exploded, the Star Destroyer returned instantly to Earth. Pei Guang was very satisfied with the warship's overwhelming power. But because it was so powerful, Pei Guang understood one thing: not even the Luofu could use this thing freely.

For the upcoming main storyline, the Star Destroyer would probably only serve as a threat to get people to negotiate properly: helpful for missions, but not the main force.

This was the kind of weapon perfect for side quests with major supporting characters that affect the future but don't touch the main plot.

In those cases? Bring it out and have fun!

Pei Guang: "That felt good, so good~ Blowing up a planet really is satisfying! Hm? Picked up some survivors with the Star Destroyer? Eh, whatever. Let Elysia take care of them~ I'm heading back~"

Feeling refreshed, Pei Guang happily returned to the space station, planning to find Veritas and check in on the rescued staff. But while Pei Guang was basking in his own satisfaction, he had no idea how much trouble he had just stirred up.

Because he had set the broadcast to maximum range, it wasn't just the Annihilation Gang who heard it: every civilization in the universe received the message.
