Chapter 6: Taking Over
DELPHIA.
The land which was once peaceful, beautiful with the greatest economy went through a horrendous, flaming and deadly night of their history.
Houses were burned, countless people died, horror was spread everywhere. The biggest kingdom of the Rose was now destroyed.
"Ah… what a night of tragedy."
Amid grief and loss, a certain maroon-eyed male was staring out of the balcony of the enormous castle, watching people desperately trying to recover from the loss.
"If I had known I would take over this humanoid place, I wouldn't have ruined it this much. Tch, tch, tch,"
Shaking his head in false disappointment, he leaned against the railing. A deadly smirk lingering over his lips while faking compassion.
Witnessing how gloom affected the land. People were agonized and it thrilled him.
"P-Please, let us g-go."
His arms folded at his chest, raising an eyebrow seductively, he glanced from his shoulder and saw five high officials of Delphia standing before him.
"P-Please… you have already killed our King. Let us go. We have a family…" One of them sobbed.
Their bodies were shaking in horror. Tears glistened in their eyes, fearing for their lives to be captured in his domain. They knew he would devastate them.
"Go where? All of this land is mine now. Where exactly do you intend to run?" His low, tempting resonance came.
Telling them a harsh reality. There was no denial, no one could run away from here anymore. Delphia became his domain, they became his prisoners.
"What do you want from us?" Another one hissed, gathering his powers to confront him strongly but failed badly.
"Aren't you the high officials? Instruct me how to rule. It had been quite a while since I had taken over any land. Hmm? What should I do first?"
Holding his chin, tilting his head to the side to perceive what he could possibly do for his amusement and to pass time until Zephyr returns.
After giving it a thought, he smiled wickedly, putting his hand in the air, declaring.
"Yeah! Kill anyone who would try to leave…!- I forgot, what is the name of this land?"
Appall crept on their faces, cowering back in fright.
"How embarrassing that I forgot as its future ruler."
He held his sides, taking a huge step forward, emitting his power to immobilize them. With visible tears, their lips were sealed.
"What is it called again? You. Tell me." He questioned, arching an eyebrow to the most terrified man.
"D-Delphia." He stammered, unable to lift his eyes and meet his deadly ones, staring dead into his soul.
"Ah, yes, yes, Delphia. Shut it down from this world. I don't fancy unasked interruptions in my place." He ordered, an evil smirk coming on his face.
Not being able to confront this monstrosity happening, another person from the official shouted.
"This won't last long!"
"Hmm?"
Amused, he merely turned, allowing him to continue his useless whining.
"Prince Zephyr will return, no matter how hard or much time it will take! He won't let you take over Delphia!" He yelled, voice breaking in the middle yet the faith that Zephyr would return was unbreakable.
They trust in their Prince bewildered Zirkos.
"I am curious. How come you trust your Prince this much?" He frowned, folding his arm at his chest, making his ripped muscles visible.
"Because being the king of Delphia had become the purpose of his life. He would reach the depths of hell to return and take the throne you have stolen from him."
His jaw clenched, losing his patience when he raised his voice at Zirkos, challenging his powers and he'd give them a reason to not speak unless spoken.
"You are going to perish, you monster-"
Before he could continue, Zirkos lost his forbearance and taught him a lesson.
He slit his throat, a slash appeared out of nowhere, killing him one movement of his index finger.
"I am also not fond of people who talk too much."
His dominant tone came out, walking forward, his boots stained by the blood spilling on the carpet.
Other's fell on their knees, crawling back in terror, tears they held back began to flow out.
They knew one mistake and he would kill them.
He put his foot over his blood face, kicking his body, throwing it across the hall, staining the walls as well.
"Replace him. What is your name?"
Zirkos turned to the official who was silent all this time, his fatal amusement coming back.
"S-Samuel…" He stuttered.
"Samuel. I like you, you are silent. Come with me."
Smirking, he extended his hand to him, motioning to him to follow.
"The rest of you, clean up this mess."
He ordered the others, walking forward with a high and an evil power surrounding him.
Inclining himself on the throne, he leaned back, resting his one leg over the other to assert his dominance.
Placing his elbow on the armrest, releasing his supreme power to let everyone know.
He had taken the authority.
"I declare myself the ruler of Delphia."
None of them were able to utter another sound anymore. They bowed, getting on their knees before him unwillingly.
With a heavy heart, they were left with no choice but to give in.
"Samuel, Spread the words. Their Prince fled, leaving me to become the King." He ordered, licking his lips from excitement.
The thought people will consider their prince a coward made him elated. They would stop their faith and were forced into subjugation.
'Ah… how this kingdom is going to fall.' Zirkos thought, exhilarated.
"Yes." Samuel nodded, turning to leave but he snapped his finger to stop him.
"Yes what?" Zirkos called in a warning tone.
He sniffled, "Yes… His Highness."
"Use My Lord."
"Very well… My Lord."
Bowing again, he took his crushed steps and walked out of the throne room followed by everyone else to sob at their miserable fate.
Leaving Zirkos alone in the throne room to indulge the power he had taken over forcefully.
After he was alone, he went to the balcony again, staring at the destroyed land before his eyes.
Holding his hand behind his back with his head high in pride. He wanted to see how much he could suffer before falling apart.
"I cannot believe you had summoned me for this pathetic land. What power do you want to prove?"
Dispersing a nefarious aura with bad omen, his lips curled into a devilish smirk. Excited for the upcoming events.
"Let's see how far you can go boy in order to defeat me- if you can…"
At night, he was sitting on the throne, indulging in the feeling of dominating the human world after a devilishly long time until Samuel came and called him worriedly.
"My Lord."
"Hmm?"
"Young Prince-"
"What?"
He gave a warning glare and frightened him to no end as he corrected his words hastily, fearing death.
"Z-Zephyr Elrond is staying in Laysa. He had joined hands with them to defeat you." He stuttered, not lifting his eyes from the ground.
"Oh? Him and his young blood. Dying to defeat me, isn't he?"
Zirkos's smirk grew sinister at the information of how quickly he was progressing to reach his level.
"Then I shall encourage him. The more miserable he would be, the better it was going to be after all."
Letting out a suppressed chuckle, his maliciousness was felt from afar and to show Zephyr that he won't leave his life this easily.
Holding his head high, he called the name of a delicate woman with number four written on her face.
A woman with light ash blonde hair and white eyes and overwhelming power.
His eight commanders.
Upper four and lower four, the ones with explicit powers none could deny.
"Nayah."
"Yes, My Lord?" She bowed, holding her staff.
"Go and give him an introduction about the Commanders of the Abyss." He ordered strictly.
She smirked darkly and left with a final bow, "Yes, My Lord."
