The Epic Dragon Titan

Chapter 650: Chapter 650: The Everlasting God

"Did believing in a god make them stupid?" Shiro Wei turned away without a desire to help, for he saw more white dragons flying in the distance. This was a well-structured white dragon realm, a massive war machine. Touching this system meant facing its retaliation. "Do you think a god would protect low-level dragon hunters like you? A bunch of fools, relying on weapons blessed with some divine spells to cause trouble in a dragon's domain."

Ignoring the desperate struggle of Marlock's followers, Shiro Wei returned to the town. He planned to stay the night and then find a way to explore the Frost Queen's lair. This dragon, which ruled and enslaved humans, had to be killed.

...

As dragon hunters from all over the world flocked to the Deprosen subcontinent, Muria moved Synapse to the sky above the Frost Queen's city, as he had promised Claudia. He would handle the incoming dragon hunters and righteous human legends, so she needn't worry.

With Synapse's movement, the three cloud cities of the Seraphim also moved. To avoid attracting attention, these war fortresses activated their concealment arrays, making them invisible in the sky.

"Followers of the dragon hunter Marlock have entered the Deprosen subcontinent," Muria, seated on his throne, looked down at nearly four hundred chromatic dragons of various sizes. On the other side stood about fifty metallic dragons, distinct and separate.

These metallic dragons had integrated into Synapse due to Muria's presence. Considering they were also metallic dragons, Muria allowed them to stay without expelling them. However, their relationship with the chromatic dragons guarding Synapse was not friendly, though not hostile either. Chromatic and metallic dragons were natural enemies, a hatred embedded in their bloodlines, not easily resolved. Still, they coexisted peacefully in Synapse.

"They aim to hunt the Frost Queen Claudia, my most talented white dragon. According to my intelligence, thirty-three white dragons have already fallen to their crossbows and dragon-slaying spears, and this number is still rising." Muria shared this anger-inducing information with the dragons below.

"Damn dragon hunters and that damn god," Red dragons Cynthia and Jessica cursed angrily, flames spreading from their bodies, eyes filled with murderous intent. The mere existence of those who sought to hunt dragons was an affront to dragonkind's dignity.

In contrast to the agitated chromatic dragons, the summoned metallic dragons remained calm. Although some showed anger in their eyes, they made no significant movements. Unlike chromatic dragons, metallic dragons were rarely targeted by dragon hunters or Marlock's followers, only by some evil hunters. They also hated dragon hunters but not as intensely as chromatic dragons.

Seeing this, Muria sighed. Despite the dragons' renowned power, stories of dragon slaughters persisted. The strongest branches of dragonkind were disunited, perpetuating the slaughter. United, metallic dragons deterred most rational dragon hunters and even many deities. Yet, despite having greater numbers and a powerful dragon god, chromatic dragons faced relentless slaughter, with low survival rates for their young.

"Your Highness, what do you want us to do?" a brass ancient dragon at the forefront of the metallic dragons asked, seeing Muria sigh.

"You seem indifferent to dragon hunters? Even Marlock's followers don't interest you much."

"No, Your Highness, we hate them! But we won't act unless they attack us." This was the common mindset among metallic dragons; as long as their kin and friends weren't harmed, they didn't care what dragons the hunters killed.

"I want to clear this subcontinent of dragon hunters, especially those who follow the dragon hunter Marlock," Muria declared his intention.

"My power alone isn't enough. Many weak dragon hunters have gathered on this land, posing a significant threat to the local dragons."

"Marlock's followers indeed deserve death," the brass ancient dragon nodded at Muria's idea. Marlock was an extreme deity, hating all dragons. Due to his limited power, his primary targets were chromatic dragons, rarely provoking metallic dragons. This was solely due to his weakness.

Such a deity naturally held no favor among metallic dragons. Encountering his followers, they would strike hard. Though they wouldn't actively seek them out, Muria's request made it difficult to refuse. They had been living off Muria's resources recently.

"Having you deal with Marlock's followers is a great help." Muria was somewhat satisfied, seeing the two ancient dragons agree. He then turned to Cynthia and Jessica.

"You'll deal with the dragon hunters in the white dragon realm! Identify them and kill them."

After assigning tasks, the dragons departed, patrolling the airspace over the white dragon duchy with Synapse's warships, killing any humans threatening dragonkind. But two ancient dragons remained.

"I don't understand. Can't the dragon kings and dragon gods unite to eliminate the dragon hunter? How can a god dedicated to slaughtering dragons exist?" Muria asked the two metallic ancient dragons.

"Your Highness, do you know which number Marlock is in the line of dragon hunters?"

"..." Muria fell silent, realizing something.

"Kill one dragon hunter, and another takes his place. Kill the second, and a third arises. Many fearless human ascendants exist, and the divine role of dragon hunter remains. With this role comes great power. Therefore, the dragon hunter deity will never disappear."
